@ngershon: who are you to criticize in such a way, did you hear it life? I guess not!! I heard her in London with Pappano and Giordani and it was fantastic!!! Maybe your intellect has to "grow a bit", or do it yourself and post it. ;) go and have a look for Angela Gheorghiu maybe you like a lyric tosca better ;) tanti saluti!!!

alvarez is excellent, perfect vocal form, producing sharp clean notes on the high register and full expression throughout his range. serafin, alas, seems to be not suitable for the part. some call it a dangerously pushed lyric soprano. though she did find lovely lines, her rich voice stood in her way at the high notes that lacked the needed knife-cutting quality, though some of them were more steely and fitted in better. perhaps still has to grow a bit.
