Yep, Car & Driver mentioned it's .4 slower than stock Si coupe and .2 slower than stock Si sedan, from 0-60 all the way to 1/4 mile run. Sad! C&D says the Mugen aero aids hinder straight line performance as well as Mugen 18 inch wheels give it taller (slower ) gearing compared to stock 17s. Also Mugen car was a little heavier especially compared to Si coupe, 98lbs if I recall. Biggest complaint was the engine was left (no HP) untouched and it did not come with Mugen Big Brake system.

I know i can STOMP both these cars. I dont even know who the fuck John Force is.

Both cars have the same engines dumb fuck, same hp and torque.. The mugen is just more aerodynamic and has more down force.. Stiffer suspension, and 60 extra lbs, not a good race

@volt3sv Actually it really doesn't make a huge difference. A CAI has more piping to run through and since the piping is what heat soaks, it heats the air back up on its way to the intake manifold (which also heats the air up). An SRI pulls the air from the hot engine bay (from a REALLY retarded location on a K20 powered car, basically next to the header), but the engine bay isn't really all that hot when the car is up and moving.
Either way, you are looking at all of a 2hp difference.

@Cripton805 How do I fail? Engine vs engine, the type R is nothing special. The chassis is cool, I never denied that, but the engine is nothing to go crazy over.
Type R's only run high 14's, GSR's run low-mid 15's. Both are in heavy as shit integras, and the GSR is loaded up with heavy options, so of course it will weigh more. Neither are amazingly fast, and an integra LS with a cheap turbo kit would walk them both. It won't handle as well, but the price difference can fix that.
@phateracing A Type-R is mid 2600 lbs and GSR in mid 2700. That's with a full interior Stock. An EK HX is around 2400 lbs stock. It's only a 200lb difference. An ITR weighs around the same as a 99 SI Coupe. Don't even tell me to go buy an EG or CRX. On top of that, you will have to swap out for rear disc, larger sway bar, strut bar, etc... to even have a decent car that can handle. I didn't say you couldn't do that to a GSR, but it's going to cost you more than 1.5k for parts for the same power
@phateracing It would be stupid to build a GSR to have the same power as an ITR. If you want 170-175whp go for the ITR and it can get more power than the GSR just by swapping cams too due to higher compression and you wouldn't have to swap the pistons. HMO GSR Complete swap 2.8k and ITR 3.6k... You save money with the ITR and you have LSD. Only $800 more. It's going to cost more than $800 for the GSR. Trust me.

@phateracing It would be stupid to build a GSR to have the same power as an ITR. If you want 170-175whp go for the ITR and it can get more power than the GSR just by swapping cams too due to higher compression and you wouldn't have to swap the pistons. HMO GSR Complete swap 2.8k and ITR 3.6k... You save money with the ITR and you have LSD. Only $800 more. It's going to cost more than $800 for the GSR. Trust me.

@Cripton805 So yeah, none of what you mentioned related to me saying that the engine was nothing special, aside from the extra 25hp (mostly from a set of more agressive cams that can easily be installed into a GSR with bolt ons). Other than the weight reduction and 25hp, none of that makes it any faster. Congrats, a PT loser turbo is faster.

@dchrish Mugen was US$25k, about $3k more than the FG2 it's racing against. The suspension is tighter and the exhaust is different. Tha'ts it. The race in this video will come down to the driver, not the car.
Also, for the record, the sedan is 58 lbs heavier.

so the injen CAI and skunk catback is better for civics si coupe. i think the weight onthe 4door mugen is a bit heavy. if it is the mugen coupe it would be head to head.

no, civic si mugen(only comes in sedan) series are faster than the civic si(the sedans),it is faster than the original sedan and can come up to par with the coupe(or faster), civic si sedan vs civic si coupe( the coupe should win) the mugen series is the civic si just with a few mods, a higher-flowing cat-back exhaust, sport suspensions, (interior/exterior), etc

these kids dont know how to drive, v-tec on the mugen kicks in at 6k redlines at 8k, parking lot is too short to truly race, besides this is a short straight line, the biggest change to the mugen is the suspension not the HP, it was meant to handle corners at quicker speeds at high RPM its not a parking lot dragster
