@xalanx309 i think he uses some kind of vintage ludwig kit but his snare is definitely ancient. its seriously the fattest tallest snare ive ever seen a modern drummer use, its bigger than some rack toms. ive looked it up before but im sure google can answer this more clearly for you

It's amazing how Paul still manages to stay in key doing handstands and slamming on the keyboard. And everybody in Mutemath is a multi-instrumentalist.  They're all drummers, everybody's good at programming and sampling, and everyone (except Darren, I think...) can play guitar, Meany sings so amazingly and creamy-smooth, and they've got one of the best bass players out there today (Roy--go listen to the Armistice live video and see what I'm talking about)! I love Mutemath!

I think it's pretty beastly that they can produce such awesome live music from what the vast majority of industry recording artists wouldn't even touch to autograph, much less play a gig with.

@jamesisapain if you say so. the guitarist and bassist are both taking plenty good care of their stuff. The drums are assuredly old pawn shop drums, because darren has talked about buying them in interviews. The keyboard is a fender rhodes, not cheap on its own, but it's in a big fat custom road case that they build and repair themselves, and is built like a tank. nothing they are doing to it is harming anything or being wasteful.
