the green nettles are easier to work with but the woody ones can be used. Try it and see. A firm approach to handling nettles is best way to avoid being stung, that and thick skin lol. If the stings are causing you problems wear gloves.

Two questions: they look pretty green, does it work with the older, "woody" plants as well and how do you avoid getting stung?
