Multi-touch isn't an apple only thing. It's implimentent in many phones like: HTC Hero, Samsung Moment, Motorola Milestone and the Palm Pre.. as well as Microsoft's Zune HD.

Using multi touch requires a capacitive display. The N900 has a resistive display so only single touch is possible. However, the resistive display is much more accurate than capacitive, and it is possible to use e.g. a stylus, which isn't possible with a capacitive display.

Also, zooming isn't needed as much with the N900, as clicking links and selecting text is quite accurate even without zooming in on it.

Also, I think the circular zoom mechanism is pretty clever for single touch.

actually i like nokia's implementation of zoom better than apple's. with this method, i can easily use one finger where as with apple i need to use one finger and my thumb to zoom in\out. i guess its personal preference. but this is gonna be an iphone killer...i just hope their application distribution system grows exponentially! :)

the only way to use UI controls of flash player in the browser is with the stylus, which works only with resistive screen.

Iphone does not support flash, problem solved! :)

there will be apps from the nokia ovi store that will allow another method. There probably is an alternative way of doing it, its just hidden unless you go into settings im guessing.

You have not tried the latest resistive tech i guess. Its much better than what it used to be. Although Cap screens are more resistive the cons outweigh the pro's imho. + this is a global device and in a lot of places its really cold so you cannot use only fingers all the time.
