  • Google owned by Microsoft Kinect AHAHAHA

  • @electroicguns No its not i have it on my computer its called FAAST. Its no joke.

  • Oh hai! Have you considered bee 4 biz (do a google search)? its url locker that pays every time someone does your survey and unlocks your locked link. A sister of mine earns a lot of cash with them just asking everyone to do surveys.

  • Thats awesome

  • Its april fools look at posted date.

  • Google got owned big time.

  • Excellent! :)

  • XBox 360 Kinect Console giveaway contest. Infos in my profile.

  • instead of spending money on risky motion tracking technology, they should improve speech recognition first ! i want to be free to move my body and scratch my fucking nose when it itches.

we should be talking to our computers and telling them exactly what we want. because "moving" will cause too many inconvenients !

what happens if i sneeze ? it will reply my UNFINISHED mail to everybody ? come on ! this cannot be compared with tactile interaction.

  • niiiice april fools joke

  • vere goood (:

  • PWNS Google!

  • lol. awesome.

  • This is awesome... Wow

  • Sure Microsoft fanbois, Google got pawned, yeah, whatever. This has restored your self-esteem, good 4u. The orig joke was funny (to me, don't be offended) because the simple fact is that 99% of Kinect hack videos are dumb. When you'll browse the web with Kinect full time, then we'll talk about pawnage.

  • @beardymonger Google is really pawned. Soon Microsoft will release an official SDK so there will be millions of kinect-software avaible. And maybe i'l create a kinect-webbrowser. Together with Dragon Naturallyspeaking (which supports more languages then Windows speech-to-text), it should work very well. I'l keep that in mind...

  • people saying its useless its ment to be a joke

  • will it work for linux?

  • AWESOME! and impractical. xD

  • You guys rock! Well played...

  • i can't believe people don't get that this application is just a joke to get back at google, not something that you would actually use xD

  • @GangstaSkills05 I can't understand how you are so stupid?. try it out it really works!!!

  • @coleo101101101 i know it works, i'm just saying it's not something you would actually use, it's super impractical and useless, it was just made to get back at google :P

  • google got pwned

  • Lol try sending a text like that when your stood on a crowded train on your daily commute. This is a useless technology for everyday use. Why make something as easy as texting require a pc and sensor and six feet of space.....

  • OMG loolll

  • Pretty useless if u ask me

  • @olivercromwel you missed the point

  • @olivercromwel it's a joke... lol

  • Can we make this work for sign language instead of hand movements? that way people could talk to deaf people and type on the computer without a keyboard. also we would need a program to teach sign language or at least the basics.

  • @RoamenCota

I'm sure that is possible. This was more of a way to apply the gestures that Google Motion said was to be used (to prove a point and to make an April Fools joke a reality.)

  • 28 people are to fat to move their arms

  • Seriously who wants to send email by waving their arms around like a idiot

  • @bmdawe That tells me you're fat and lazy sir

  • Must have been a slow day at the office, funny way to kill time. Using the thumb& index finger to send Morse code would be the way to go. I don't have a clue if the Kinect can sense such a fine resolution, speed or not, but it could send faster than some can text or even type.

  • So I'm gonna lick the stamp *slap knee* and send it!

  • dude, the gmail motion was an april fool prank. Jeez, ego of the nerds.

  • @deathundone STU ;) The ego of the nerds is why you used the tech required to see the video & dis nerds. Besides they knew it was an April 1 prank

  • 25 people still use hotmail :and yahoo D

  • Great reply to google jokes. I don't think the idea is ridiculous, although some gestures are funny. I would like to have this feature in my computer.

  • Is this actually, real?

  • @bubblecup18 It's a response to Google making "Gmail Motion", which was an April fools joke about Gmail utilizing body motions to control Gmail. These guys made it real.

  • great!

  • Geek heaven.

  • @DarianMatini yes i know. i was just saying the idea for google motion was fake.

  • Is that a Microsoft Surface in the background!?!?!

  • he used the xbox kinect!

  • kkkkk

When the guy hasn't any leg, how he'll send the message?

    o.O

  • "Cool" abbreviations and acronyms seems to be pretty important in the US.

It's fudging ridiculous. It's s so lame.. it's just painful - and americans just can't see it.

Kisses from Norway... land of the real free.

  • @its42 Obvious troll is obvious.

  • dont start to bash me...i havent read other comments...but the whole gmail thing was an april fools day PRANK...it wasnt real..

  • @BeyondEvil308 Dang sherlock holmes, how did you figure that out?

  • AMAZING! Congratulations for this!!!

of course this is a joke in this video, but......

why don`t adapter this for people that have acessibility problems?!

imagine how many people you can help!

    see ya

  • not much of a joke eh

  • Saw this on CNN, this is awesome.

  • lolol... that's hilarious! :)

  • zo you got to jurk off to sent it?

  • I have a gester, but don't think it would be recognised hehe

  • @Barokah: No, he wasn't hired by Google.

  • This is an awesome response to their joke! Well played guys!

  • you guys do know this was an april fools prank

  • is that a giant ipad behind you?

  • the waving at the end was funny

  • gmail motion was a april fools joke from google

  • this is far better than ikea's dog high chair.

  • Excellent.

  • iPod giant put on the table.

  • @derytaro its a microsoft surface

  • @nkamal2007 I dont think its indians... Anyone who aint aware of tech side of things will be impressed. If you have gaming console's based on motion, this technology is pretty much out there known and tested. These guys are just toying with application of something which is out there. Thats not research.

Ahh.. sorry for the babble. The comments just pissed me off. Google is indulging in lighter side of things on a laid back day and I see comments saying.. Google has it in the face.

  • @MastaSquide I don't get your point man. And spare me your slander. Its Microsoft Kinetic they are playing with. All I am saying its nothing new or out of the world. Its an understood technology. Its just a great attempt at making something completely lame and useless stuff. Plus its out on 1st April. Why can this guys be not fooling around?

These guys missed the google's point. Its lame and thats why an april fool's prank.

  • bye....

  • You can here the keyboard. Fake. Motion sensors are pretty powerful

and common. Google will surely have access to it. The thing is .. its just lame to do all this and thats why the fool prank

  • @aditya4288 You are a dipshit.

motion sensors cannot actually detect specific motions. They can only detect motion PERIOD. A motion sensor cannot tell what motions you are making. Only on, or off.

  • You can here the keyboard. Fake. Motion sensors are pretty powerful

and common. Google will surely have access to it. The thing is .. its just lame to do all this and thats why the fool prank

  • @aditya4288 most of the indians r fool!

  • Das ist sooo coool! :D

  • Now Google is the April fool! :D

  • What's wrong with typing?

  • Did you also notice the gigantic iPad in the Corner?

  • HIRE THIS GUY GOOGLE!!!!!

  • lol SLOOW... HAHAHA

  • i dont want anything dealing with my email to be named SLOOW thanks.

  • What's the name of the laptop in the video? Looks pretty cool.

  • @mehdiarfaoui That's an Alienware laptop. Awesomeness.

  • @armount Thanks :) I'm trying to find a PC to replace my Mac, I'm just tired of Apple's sucky products. Do you have a recommendation?

  • @mehdiarfaoui That's an Alienware laptop. Awesomeness.

  • Using SLOOOW, a Kenic, and one of the established sign languages would allow you to make coherent (though less humorous) messages. It would also be a great way to get more people to learn sign language.

  • @LouKolodner unfortunately the Kinect lacks the resolution necessary to see movement in different fingers, which is required in sign language. (the original prototype had a much higher resolution, but they had to put cheaper cameras and sensors to make more profit.

  • Very cool stuff guys.

  • good work guys, myth busted!

  • y'all just one upped google, nicely done!

  • Hahah, that is hilarious, but I can believe it. Googles not the only ones trying to make it happen. I bet they were surprised when they saw this. Thinking forward. I wonder what the motion for a hook up would be?!

  • Once again the Kinect does everything other than be a video game controller.

  • Way to go!

  • why dont you take it seriously ? if you create the software why dont you develop it? for example with body language from plp that can not hear or speak. That could be a real develop! (my english is not so perfect)

  • Ridiculous application, but this bear is cute :)

  • hahhahaha googles april fools pwned :D

  • you can hear a keyboard typing. fake.

  • You did get that it was a joke, didn't you?

Pretty cool programming though. Well made

  • Just oozes epic win.

  • Keep pressing 9 lol!

  • كذبة ابريل للجوجل ايموشن لفتح الميل تتحول الي حقيقة فعلية !!!!!!

  • This was probably Google's plan all along... :P

  • someone doesnt understand what an april fools is...

  • @fixcef528 I think you're the one not getting it.

  • @fixcef528 someone doesn't understand what sarcasm is

  • Alienware is beast!

  • Fight On!!

  • 100% Gangster

10 years, top 10 university, FYI top 5 in less FTW

    Dornsife 2005 thats right!

  • owned google :D

  • Did anyone else but me notice the giant iPod Touch behind him..?

  • @carlos55524685551379 Don't you mean iPad?

  • @carlos55524685551379 I notice a horizontal display behind him, but I didn't recognize it as a giant anything. Heck I have never seen a normal sized iPod Touch. I'm on the backside of 50& my lifestyle doesn't require a mp3 player, so I'm not looking for them. I'm on disability income & I wouldn't be looking at apple products anyway

  • lol

  • USC > UCLA

  • So. When is there going to be an app for this, when you send email on a mobile device by actually throwing the device?

  • Google is dreaming about technology while Microsoft is working on it.

  • Rather than coming up with a new set of gestures for people to learn, why not use ASL (American Sign Language)? It's a pre-exsisting gesture based language that would not only give the small community of people that use ASL a larger voice, but also teach the everyday user an new language and way to communicate.

  • @darrellwhitchcock you realize gmail motion was a joke, right? it wasn't an actual, serious proposed solution...

  • @darrellwhitchcock that's a bloody awesome idea

  • @darrellwhitchcock

Fantastic idea. Simple, but I never thought of that. This should REALLY become a standard when gestures become a more prominent aspect of our daily lives.

  • @darrellwhitchcock ASL PLS!

  • @darrellwhitchcock Totally agreed! It would definitely give us more voice and more people would be able to know ASL, and that will translate into a society that is naturally bilingual. We need to catch up to Europeans with their multilingual culture. heh

  • @darrellwhitchcock right i am deaf why not they using ASL that would be successful without the interpeter

  • @darrellwhitchcock right i am deaf why not they using ASL that would be successful without the interpreter

  • @darrellwhitchcock I agree, since I'm deaf.

  • @darrellwhitchcock you do know that this was an april fools prank?

  • @darrellwhitchcock Isn't typing faster than ASL any day of the week?

  • @darrellwhitchcock because we have keyboards

  • @darrellwhitchcock great idea

  • @darrellwhitchcock Good idea, but would that translate quite as well, when using computers, i.e would computers be able to pick up every gesture, as that language was designed for someone to see, not a computer to capture via camera.

  • @darrellwhitchcock I think there's already a lot of work going on to do just that, it definitely makes sense. In this case, they were just taking advantage of Google's April Fools to crack a joke back at them with their own (purposely humorous) gestures :)

  • Antônio Nunes em 1:17!!! LOL!

  • he just got hired by google, congrats

  • @TheKhanPro really?

  • @TheKhanPro did he actually?

  • 17 Hotmail users disagreed!

  • @acroplexcom Nah.. 17 UCLA people :-)

  • In your face Google! :P

  • I dont see how this can be useful at all when we email people and have a conversation with them. This just lets people send basic email and words. I thought that we could use it and say much more then basic hello and stuff like that.

  • @kingkiril Maybe when the program gets more advanced? This is basically a prototype.

  • Who says Geeks are all serious, all the time? We like to make jokes about our work, and learn something as we do the joke. It's called efficiency.

  • wow, he is so hot. I want to know if he is a bear or not

  • @krotanah5 -- LOL :-p If he's gay, of course he's a bear.

  • @kehvan and what if he is not :P

  • @krotanah5 -- Then he could possibly be a pedobear, but not as likely to be the "bear" bear variety.

  • @kehvan @krotanah5 Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not either variety of bear.

  • @evansuma -- Not disappointed.
