  • Can you plug this mic directly into the computer?

  • Wow, im impressed! how long did u play guitar for?

  • Thanks for this video! I'm going to get a DA5 but was wondering what my Dot would sound like through it.

  • Does the dot have the original pickups?

  • Very nice man.

  • i really liked this, nice guitar, nice sound, nice amp in the back, except for the guitars on the wall, they will be dusty, take good care of 'em

  • @adrianogallagher haha thanks! But i would not worry about my guitars getting dusty considering how much i play them all.

  • hey there

the other day i sent you a personal message

i would be more than glad if you can answer it sometime soon :D

    tka care

  • @fuemre reply sent! ;)

  • What is that first song you play, it sounds nice and you play it well.

  • I'ts part of the stuff I've made myself. No name though.

    And thank you :)

  • Dude. Very Nice Riffs There...:-) I Don't Care What That Ohwell121 Says, He Is Just Bitter Because His Own Guitars (And Amps) Hate Him...*grin*

  • Nice!!!

  • You look like the missing beatle

  • Sounds great.

  • My man, you sound great through that little Vox! I really like Vox amps - well done.

  • This ohwell21 is the only person I've seen bag on this amp, yes it's small, it's goig to sound somewhat hollow...at first. Replace the speaker with a jensen mod6-15 and ALL that goes away. These little guys sound amazing with the right speaker.

  • well nicely played anyway, your playing in many ways saved the day.

it does sound alright except for that hollow sound from the amp. you'd have to listen carefully but once you've trained yourself to hear it or the slight timbre in your favorite seventies mp3 file and wonder what that sound came from that I can't recreate, it never goes away. It's a shame the cheap amps cant recapture the sound they try to recapture better.

i'm currently on a quest to find the real gear, costs a lot thou

  • sorry to say this but your dot and playing skill is wasted on that amp. I'd recommend getting a tube amp or at least partial tube amp. I've tried for fucking years to get these things working beyond subsistence sound level, even with preamp. I've recorded with it but it could only do the blues 2 and clean 2 sound well. Clean 2 with preamp will kick the shit out of all your highgain and drive channels, and even then fell short in many ways. Its a shame that so few of the many settings are useful

  • Dude calm down. Check out my other vids, i have enough tube amps already!

For a really small digital amp i would say the DA5 is awesome but ofc it cant be compared to the "real deal".

  • hey didn't know you were on.

i'll be sure to check them out.

sry i've had bad experiences with my DA5, then i saw this and remember, so i guess i decided to vent here. here is also where the new ones come to see what to get. so i thought i should share my perspective cuz i felt i wasted my time trying to work that amp when i should have been scouting for real gear. I was kind of naive starting out. When you're new you don't know much. just thought i'd warn. otherwise i wouldn't have posted.

  • Hey could i just ask if you think the dot could take 11 gauge strings ? in your opinion

  • It will work just fine. Might need a little tweak in the setup but thats all.

  • ok mate cheers for that

  • sry man i'm not ragging on your play, it's great.

I've just had a bit of a grudge vs DA5 and low tier digital amps in general. I didn't have any options when i began except a rentpackage with a shitty guitar and a vox DA5. I experimented with it as much as i could but i just couldn't get through that hollow sound all the affordable digital amps have. I didn't know what it was so i kept on trying and trying. Even with my Epiphone Casino the amp could only perform 2-3 settings well.

  • really nice playing, nice guitar, nice amp

  • Hey

    Great playing!

I just got myself a Vox Da5 as well but I'm not sure if mine has a defect or something. All of the "styles" sound exactly the same except for the drive. I was just wondering if that was the case for you also or if when you switch the "styles dial", you can notice a significant change in tone.

    Thanks

  • It definitely changes the tone. Sounds like there is something wrong with yours indeed.

  • Alright

    Thanks for letting me know

I guess i'll need to send it to Vox to get a replacement

  • or you just have good ear. the DA5 is cheap and wholly digital. I've played it for a year, that was a long year. You'll find only about 3 styles that fit. Most of it sounds similar. Like whats the difference between crunch 1 and crunch 2? not much....and the highain channels are worse. Drive, I remember, was the only really good disted channel.

but if by that you mean that clean 1 through highgain 3 sound exactly identical with the same gain tone and master setup then yes its a defect.

  • nice skills

    nice amp

  • argh da5 or microcube.... your making it harder for me!!

    loved that opening tune

  • da5 is superb.. I think much better than roland. and typical voxy sound

  • it depends what music you like to play! the Roland microcube distortion has a lot of base and the vox hasn't that much base, so the Roland microcube is better if you like to play metal or rock, but the da5 has more effects and a better clean sound. I have the da5 and I love it!

  • i wouldn't get an all digital amp for the life of me anymore. But if you're new they make due alright. just be ready to upgrade if you find it lacking.

the difference between a da5 and line6 beginner amp is significant. I've had them both but the difference between a real stage setup and the digital amps that mimic that sound is abysmal. Whatever you choose i would recommend getting a preamp pedal and use it in tandem with your amp. It greatly increases the sound and useability of your amp.

  • hey man, what about the hambuckers? are they pretty good? cheers

  • Hey what is that song you start playing at 0:51sec, it sounds great and is vaguely familiar....Thanks..

  • Thank you and its somewhat SRV - Testify.

  • nice playing. thanks for the upload

  • Good playing! Nice tone from such an inexpensive small amp.

  • Thank you! Dont let the pricetags fool you. But its not good for anything but room practice if you ask me. Great little digital amp though.

  • hey what u playin?

    nice vid btw

  • Thank you! You have to be more specific about that question though.

  • i meant what song. sorry

  • Np! I play quite a few in the video. At what time?

  • at the start. like the jazzy blues

  • Oh that is part of my own stuff i come up with. Sadly, no name! :)

  • hey man, good job and tanks for this video

i've looking for this combination of epi. dot with the vox da5
