WOOWWW... I havent heard this since 1989 i was 14 years old then and it was played on the radio here. I did record it onto a cassette tape among many other tunes i liked on the radio. Sitting waiting for the DJ to quit jabbering on thru the beginning of all the good songs so i can hit the record button.. lol.. Thanks for uploading this.. took back so many memories.
BET! Certified "Old Skool Classic"! The UK version of "Salt-N-Pepa... No disrespect at all to either group! Both are DOPE! AS I write this, SNP's breakout cut "My mike sounds nice" is ringing in my ears....! Oh, the memories...
Oops!, had to reply on my own post. I just realized I mispelled "mic", as in microphone, even though I was just playing with a toy one a co- worker gave me at work as I was leaving today?
Love this song from way back in 1989--cool, catchy, and fun as all hell to listen to! Never understood why they didn't blow up big in the U.S. That's back when both grown folks and kids could listen to rap on the radio without having every other dang word or sentence bleeped out!
@statelybird3 They didn't blow up in the States because our market was flooded with much better rappers, although this song is fun and cute. Not being mean, just being truthful. MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Salt & Pepa, Oaktown's 357, etc, etc, hit the scene approximately the same time they did and you have to admit that the lady artists I named were much more skilled at it. And, these ladies were trying to crack the market from the UK.
@UrlsGrrl54 I totally agree even The Cookie Crew who had Daddy O and DBC from Stetsasonic backing them got more props then they did. Betty Boo after she left The She Rockers got on some corny techno shit .Then Monie Love came and she was the saving grace for the British female MC.
timeless groove !
