@DjDarkD Xaaxaxaxa....You are so funny guy!! TIESTO has OWN STYLE!! Elements of life is based on a classic song.. and I can name you 100's of dj's that have used classic songs as a reference for trance music.
The way you say it, is like Tiesto was the first ever Trance Dj.. That's so much bullshit, the crapper can't even handle..

@Engaze ...Barry Lyndon did bring me to this youtube site. I thought Barry Lyndon was a masterpiece that could have only been created by both the brillience of Stanley Kubrick and the genius Handel's Sarabande
Великодушно простите, но это называется "кто в лес, кто по дрова". Аранжировщик и исполнители упиваются своим творчеством, в котором пытаются утопить гений Генделя.
It's got a highly melancholic and dramatic element to it. That's why the producers used it in the documentary. Still, it is a highly enjoyable piece of music despite its uses in dramas (like Barry Lyndon) and quite depressing documentaries.
@FuleroAvenger "La Folia" is not a Corelli's composition, but one of the most ancient musical themes in Europe, maybe from Portugal. Handel just made a reprise, just like Corelli or Vivaldi or Bach...
@FuleroAvenger I know what ya mean, but in fact, "La Folia" isn't Corelli's own composition, it's an old theme written long ago by an unknown artist. But many composer has used it. Liszt in his "Rhapsody Espagnole", Vivaldi in his sonata op. 12 no. 1 and even Beethoven in the 2nd movement of his 5th symphony :) No wonder, it's a fucking awesome theme La Folia!
I've previously only heard The City of Prague Philharmonic's version of this, which remains level volume most of the way through. i.e. the "Barry Lyndon" soundtrack recording.
I do love how this version has such different volumes, going from subtle to intense in an instant and back again - very powerful. Very moving.
Which of these 2 versions is closer to how Handel wrote it?
@MarcusBritish I think most likly the version that varies the loudness and softness is closer to what Handel intended. I played it on piano and posted it on Youtube. The sound quality is not very good, but I think I played it okay. Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto gave me a decent grade on my exam.
@mmcrosbie Hi, I just listened to your piano cover. Even though I normally prefer string or a full orchestra for classical pieces, it was well played and enjoyable. Glad you got a decent grade, as it always encourages you to want to play more!
This is an amazing piece. My recent recital solo, now on my channel, is the same title and composer, but sounds quite different. As for the argument here, I agree that classical music is an influence on all music. I do not listen to "metal", but I don't go around insulting it.
@arifbuda I have already said this to someone else, I know I'm not wanted here and I don't care because it's funny to piss people off. A couple more things, of course I have a life, how else would I be typing? And You are a massive cunt.
The funny thing is how much of a cunt you are. I didn't say that all metal bands hated classical music, just the ones I listen to. I have heard Apocalyptica and I think they are shit, but that is just my opinion. I never thought that metal and classical can't co-exist I just don't like classical music. The Hall of the Mountain King sounds nothing like metal.
Funny thing is, the majority of metal bands I know and love all cite some form of classical music as an influence, or actually openly admit to liking it. And if you think the two can't co-exist, go and listen to some Apocalyptica, namely their cover of an already very "metal" sounding In The Hall Of The Mountain King by Edvard Grieg.
This is honestly not me giving in to the argument but that was not me typing those comments, it was my brother. He wanted to post an annoying comment just to see how many people would comment on it. I, as the true owner of this account, do hate classical music, but I don't go around telling people their views are shit. @LordGiyue I would just like to say that I don't listen to screamo, I listen to all kinds of Metal.
@badguy567 Of course I'm here to be annoying, I love seeing how pissed people get from comments. @arifbuda Yes, in a way all music stands on classical, classical influences blah which influenced blah and in the end that leads to present time music. But the thing is, people in the bands I listen to HATE classical music with all their hearts. Also, of course I have a life, how else would I be typing these comments? You lot are all cunts.
@LordGiyue You are a fucking posh cunt and I hope you get hit by a fucking train and your parents OD on crystal meth. By the way what I said is proper grammar you retarded twat. Also I am actually not a child so you can fuck off there. My head is in the right place I'll have you know, it's on the top of my body. Lastly, why would I care that I'm ignorant because I piss people like you off. Your a cunt and that's final.
@SperMSoldieR103Know something about music : All music stand on Classical Music. Don't insult somebody else's music just because you don't like it and get a life.
This music heals the man's soul, when you are sad just listen that masterpiece and you will regain your inner balance. I wonder that such man once lived and created such masterpieces and now the world is a lonely place for real genius. But clasical music will live for eternety
But maybe Silmarunya is the exception that proves the rule? Perhaps he began life as a frog, was born a humanid and then turn into a Silmarunya? I think we should be told...
@Jacobitejim Like you, I started my 'life' as a cluster of cells entirely dependant on a host organism and with no ability to reproduce, nor any intelligence whatsoever. After a few months in the host organism I become humanoid. Upon leaving my host organism, I was a true human being and as far as I can tell, I still haven't left that stage and don't intend doing so for a few decades at least.
Fluterock - the evidence is there but I doubt you will believe it as you seem to be prejudiced. You say you don't "believe" that Catholics are discriminated against. It's not a question of belief but rather of fact. But if you do not choose to believe the facts then no-one and nothing will ever persuade you. Because you reject what Catholics believe you refuse to believe they are persecuted. That, my dear fluterock, is exactly how persecution begins.
Seeing as it's difficult to discuss facts when anything religious is involved, a rationalist such as I has to end this discussion at this point. I repeat, my intention never was to offend anyone, just express my concern at the explicit hatred(!) some feel towards muslims in general. If you feel hated, I am sure the right discussion forums can be found, but this is not the forum for an in depth discussion.
I hope you have a nice day (and am now putting a full stop to the spamming of this page...)
@Flutesrock8900 - it may be difficult for a "rationalist" to discuss facts but don't blame other people for your own inadequacies, Fluterock. But don't worry too much. You aren't the first, nor the last, "rationalist" who can't face the music in debate on these issues. The problem with "rationalism" is that it isn't rational. Have a nice, "rationalist" day. :-)
As I suspected - you are on the side of the oppressors so you can't see the oppression just as the Nazis could not see that the Jews were oppressed. Child abuse is rife in Scandinavia but you overlook that as much as you overlook the right of the child to life. But that's the "modern world", eh, Fluterock? And the "modern world" in Denmark is increasingly Islamic. Funny how your "modern world" is so intolerant, backward and blind. Not so very "modern" at all really, eh?
Nobody takes away the right to live through abortion. May I remind you that most countries only allow abortion before the embryo becomes a living creature?
Removing a heap of cells showing as much life as bacteria is hardly killing (if abortion in that stage is murder, washing your hands is genocide. Think of all the micro-organisms that die)
An Islamic minority won't turn a vast majority islamic. And they're not any more backwards than fundamentalist christians, or religious people in general
@Silmarunya Actually, most countries allow it from conception. Your argument is self-defeating: what bacteria ever grew into a human? Well? And what micro-organisms grow into humans? Well? Oh, right - none. Got to the top of the class, genius. Silmarunya, nature gave you a brain. Do try to use it, if you can
@Jacobitejim No, I did not see a bacteria grow into a human being. However, it did happen. It wasn't a bacteria that suddenly woke up as a human like you seem to suggest however.
Single cell organisms evolved into water based multi cell organisms, which then continued to evolve through genetic mutation into ever more complex organisms, eventually leading to today's organisms like humans.
I have a brain and I use it. That's why maths and science get higher marks than religion in my book...
@Silmarunya - as I thought: you've never seen a bacteria or micro-organism grow into a human being. Evolution takes millions of years, so you won't see it happen ina lifetime and certainly not 9 months. And 9 months is how long gestation takes, Mr Scientific genius. Or perhaps you think that the human conceptus will grow into a moth or a frog? Maths, science, metaphysics or religion - they are ALL higher than your brand of nonsense.
Child abuse is rife in scandinavia? I am not sure where you got that impression, however several articles on the internet will say the opposite. For example Phil Zuckermann mentions that child abuse is (among many other social ills!) nearly absent in scandinavia. If you are going to argue with people, get your facts straight first....
....as to the child's right to live, you believe abortion and condomns are a death sin because you rob a child of it's life. But isn't the child entitled to a good life? If the woman is too young, or mentally/financially not prepared, a child will be born into a horrible life, would you rather have that? Besides, the whole idea is rediculous, condomns and abortion kill people? Yeah well so each time a woman crosses a man and they don't have sex, they kill someone? Where does the line go?
@Flutesrock8900 - do yourself a favour: find out what the arguments are before you pretend to debate them. The only person saying condoms "kill" people is you so you are arguing against yourself. The "line" to draw is simple: do not terminate the life of an innocent human, born or unborn. If you think the unborn is not alive or not human then please explain what it is. A moth? A Frog? A corpse? Well? The truth is that it is living and human. Therefore do not kill it.
@Jacobitejim It is alive, just like a bacteria or insect is alive. It is a cluster of cells possessing no intelligence whatsoever, nor does it have the ability to reproduce itself, putting it even lower than the bacteria.
If you consider the abortion of an embryo murder, than so is washing your hands. After you all, you kill millions of living organisms.
Now if you think your religious group is oppressed, fine by me, Catholics might have a hard time in England! I don't know the british situation. I can only speak from a danish perspective (and french, because I'm half french), and I don't believe catholics have it harder than muslims in these countries (and find it hard to believe it's much different in england). I didn't want to offend, I just expressed my outrage at a comment made against jews, and you somehow turned it? Have a nice day!
Fluterock8900 - I am coming to the conclusion that you must be an American. That would explain your inability to understand anything other than your own country.
Oh dear, how horrible, equality and stuff...and by the way, I'm from Denmark, a country where we don't hate equality for homosexuals and where the freedom for a woman to decide whether she is ready or capable to have a child is not ill seen...oh well I guess I'm the crazy person
I thought England stood for these same qualities, which reign in a modern democratic society, but opparently, not all of England has joined us in the modern world?
@flyingchilipeppers It would make me too. I remember on the caprice 24 yo yo ma someone was talking about race and etc. I tried not to pay attention to it.

I do love how this version has such different volumes, going from subtle to intense in an instant and back again - very powerful. Very moving.
Which of these 2 versions is closer to how Handel wrote it?
MarcusBritish 1 year ago
@MarcusBritish I think most likly the version that varies the loudness and softness is closer to what Handel intended. I played it on piano and posted it on Youtube. The sound quality is not very good, but I think I played it okay. Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto gave me a decent grade on my exam.
mmcrosbie 1 year ago
@mmcrosbie Hi, I just listened to your piano cover. Even though I normally prefer string or a full orchestra for classical pieces, it was well played and enjoyable. Glad you got a decent grade, as it always encourages you to want to play more!

I can't stop thinking of the movie Barry Lyndon by Stanley Kubrick whenever I hear this piece.

@knoxswim890
Barry Lyndon defined this piece of music as much as it defined the movie.

This is an amazing piece. My recent recital solo, now on my channel, is the same title and composer, but sounds quite different. As for the argument here, I agree that classical music is an influence on all music. I do not listen to "metal", but I don't go around insulting it.

SperMSoldieR103 1 year ago
@SperMSoldieR103 Obviously you are not wanted here...So....kkthxbai? You are just wasting your life....O wait...You don't have one >_>
arifbuda 1 year ago

SperMSoldieR103 1 year ago

But maybe Silmarunya is the exception that proves the rule? Perhaps he began life as a frog, was born a humanid and then turn into a Silmarunya? I think we should be told...
Jacobitejim 1 year ago
@Jacobitejim Like you, I started my 'life' as a cluster of cells entirely dependant on a host organism and with no ability to reproduce, nor any intelligence whatsoever. After a few months in the host organism I become humanoid. Upon leaving my host organism, I was a true human being and as far as I can tell, I still haven't left that stage and don't intend doing so for a few decades at least.
Are you?

Fluterock - the evidence is there but I doubt you will believe it as you seem to be prejudiced. You say you don't "believe" that Catholics are discriminated against. It's not a question of belief but rather of fact. But if you do not choose to believe the facts then no-one and nothing will ever persuade you. Because you reject what Catholics believe you refuse to believe they are persecuted. That, my dear fluterock, is exactly how persecution begins.
Jacobitejim 1 year ago
Seeing as it's difficult to discuss facts when anything religious is involved, a rationalist such as I has to end this discussion at this point. I repeat, my intention never was to offend anyone, just express my concern at the explicit hatred(!) some feel towards muslims in general. If you feel hated, I am sure the right discussion forums can be found, but this is not the forum for an in depth discussion.
I hope you have a nice day (and am now putting a full stop to the spamming of this page...)
Flutesrock8900 1 year ago
@Flutesrock8900 - it may be difficult for a "rationalist" to discuss facts but don't blame other people for your own inadequacies, Fluterock. But don't worry too much. You aren't the first, nor the last, "rationalist" who can't face the music in debate on these issues. The problem with "rationalism" is that it isn't rational. Have a nice, "rationalist" day. :-)

pixxispad 1 year ago
As I suspected - you are on the side of the oppressors so you can't see the oppression just as the Nazis could not see that the Jews were oppressed. Child abuse is rife in Scandinavia but you overlook that as much as you overlook the right of the child to life. But that's the "modern world", eh, Fluterock? And the "modern world" in Denmark is increasingly Islamic. Funny how your "modern world" is so intolerant, backward and blind. Not so very "modern" at all really, eh?
Jacobitejim 1 year ago
Nobody takes away the right to live through abortion. May I remind you that most countries only allow abortion before the embryo becomes a living creature?
Removing a heap of cells showing as much life as bacteria is hardly killing (if abortion in that stage is murder, washing your hands is genocide. Think of all the micro-organisms that die)
An Islamic minority won't turn a vast majority islamic. And they're not any more backwards than fundamentalist christians, or religious people in general
Silmarunya 1 year ago

Jacobitejim 1 year ago
@Silmarunya Actually, most countries allow it from conception. Your argument is self-defeating: what bacteria ever grew into a human? Well? And what micro-organisms grow into humans? Well? Oh, right - none. Got to the top of the class, genius. Silmarunya, nature gave you a brain. Do try to use it, if you can
Jacobitejim 1 year ago
@Jacobitejim No, I did not see a bacteria grow into a human being. However, it did happen. It wasn't a bacteria that suddenly woke up as a human like you seem to suggest however.
Single cell organisms evolved into water based multi cell organisms, which then continued to evolve through genetic mutation into ever more complex organisms, eventually leading to today's organisms like humans.
I have a brain and I use it. That's why maths and science get higher marks than religion in my book...
Silmarunya 1 year ago
@Silmarunya - as I thought: you've never seen a bacteria or micro-organism grow into a human being. Evolution takes millions of years, so you won't see it happen ina lifetime and certainly not 9 months. And 9 months is how long gestation takes, Mr Scientific genius. Or perhaps you think that the human conceptus will grow into a moth or a frog? Maths, science, metaphysics or religion - they are ALL higher than your brand of nonsense.
Jacobitejim 1 year ago
Child abuse is rife in scandinavia? I am not sure where you got that impression, however several articles on the internet will say the opposite. For example Phil Zuckermann mentions that child abuse is (among many other social ills!) nearly absent in scandinavia. If you are going to argue with people, get your facts straight first....
Flutesrock8900 1 year ago
@Flutesrock8900 - Oh, Phil Zukerman? Why didn't you say so? The last word on the subject! Come on, Fluterock. Who are you kidding?
Jacobitejim 1 year ago
....as to the child's right to live, you believe abortion and condomns are a death sin because you rob a child of it's life.
Flutesrock8900 1 year ago
@Flutesrock8900 - do yourself a favour: find out what the arguments are before you pretend to debate them. The only person saying condoms "kill" people is you so you are arguing against yourself. The "line" to draw is simple: do not terminate the life of an innocent human, born or unborn. If you think the unborn is not alive or not human then please explain what it is. A moth? A Frog? A corpse? Well? The truth is that it is living and human. Therefore do not kill it.
Jacobitejim 1 year ago
@Jacobitejim It is alive, just like a bacteria or insect is alive. It is a cluster of cells possessing no intelligence whatsoever, nor does it have the ability to reproduce itself, putting it even lower than the bacteria.
If you consider the abortion of an embryo murder, than so is washing your hands. After you all, you kill millions of living organisms.
Silmarunya 1 year ago
Now if you think your religious group is oppressed, fine by me, Catholics might have a hard time in England! I don't know the british situation. I can only speak from a danish perspective (and french, because I'm half french), and I don't believe catholics have it harder than muslims in these countries (and find it hard to believe it's much different in england). I didn't want to offend, I just expressed my outrage at a comment made against jews, and you somehow turned it? Have a nice day!
Flutesrock8900 1 year ago
Fluterock8900 - I am coming to the conclusion that you must be an American. That would explain your inability to understand anything other than your own country.
Jacobitejim 1 year ago
Oh dear, how horrible, equality and stuff...and by the way, I'm from Denmark, a country where we don't hate equality for homosexuals and where the freedom for a woman to decide whether she is ready or capable to have a child is not ill seen...oh well I guess I'm the crazy person
