  • Great way to clean engine!

  • That looks great. Do you happen to know what brand and model of steam machine that is?

  • Be sure to really get your distributor clean doing that!

  • Aiming a high pressure hose at a modern engine is a great way to make sure your car never runs correctly again. Unless you are doing a major repair, leave it dirty.

  • @faffaflunkie So right bro.

  • so.... basically its a high temp pressure washer.

  • Other then aesthetics is there a reason for doing this? Does it help the motor in anyway? Thanks.

  • @aysvending It prevents corrosion. So yes, in the long run it helps.

  • @aysvending Think of it as proper hygiene for your engine. Dirt and moisture that accumulate contribute to corrosion. If someone were to run or jog in the summer, they would not want an extra layer of winter clothing on while doing so. They would want to be clean and stay cooled down.

  • @aysvending Likewise, an engine needs to run at its proper operating temperature. Excess dirt and grease can act as insulation, trapping heat and also blocking areas where air needs to flow over to cool it down while its hot

  • Serious where u buy one of these over the net? Live in europe :p

  • It does not seem steam for me... seems just preasured water

  • @Gontzzo Looks like steam to me. Notice how it kind of evaporates and acts kind of like a gas when it hits the surface?

  • @Slightlyevil If it's evaporating then it's not steam. Steam doesn't evaporate. It's steam before it comes out but cools down to water vapour pretty much as soon as it hits air

  • what steamer was used? brand name?

  • I was looking all over the internet to find some video how-to like this, had been scared of washing my car engine for so long, I have been using Detail Xperts for exterior Steam Cleaning and just wanted to know how to have my engine cleaned. Thank you for the video!

  • making me dizzy

  • If that's "steam" cleaning, then shouldn't the skin on his left hand be peeling off?

  • @tsk5565

have you ever tried to let your hand above boiling water ?

    it's steam too

all is a question of pressure

    a cloud is steam too

  • pointless. using all purpose cleaner and a hose is much easier and faster.

  • does it clean carpet too

  • what machine are you using?

  • Yea, high pressure steam right next to the alternator.

  • Zzzz Zzzz

  • that is ok for minor dirt on the engine dont think it will clean a very dirty engine but im only guessing if im wrong tell me id like to buy one of those

  • Can any steam cleaner pull this off? Because I'm looking to buy a Ewbank Steam Dynamo Cleaner and I'm wondering if it will work.

  • I wish I could do thiss to my car but I don't have the balls to do it, 20 years of grime and too many wires,etc....

  • @nightmathzombieethan I feel you on that.. I just got an 86 camaro and i dont think its been washed one time

  • @capufool LOL 86 Prelude, but I'd worry more about my 81! I'd still love to do it though...

  • will water steam destroy or damage the electrical parts?

  • What machine is this? I want one.

  • is that water? or some kind of chemical? can someone please tell me? i really wanna clean my engine.

  • @voiceofexpression its steam....

  • His wristwatch is sparkling.

  • Where can you buy one of those steam clean?

  • engine looks good now haha. There s a site, steam-cleaning'org that i got a steam cleaner from that works really good too.

  • Make sure your engine is cooled down for at least 2 hours tbefore you begin, to make sure you don't crack your cylinder head.

  • @mumbleora

That only happens with Alfa Romeos

  • @mumbleora

I heard that if you clean the engine bay you can die from it!

But if ya spray WD 40 anywhere near ya misses, ...well... ya could die from that too.

  • @mumbleora with a bit of steam?....i dont think so.

  • @dtr125er Exactly. It happened to me.

  • @mumbleora so why is there not a load of cracked cylinder heads and blocks from driving through a few deep puddles then?

  • @dtr125er Don't you know why???

  • @mumbleora theres nothing to know! it doesnt happen you crazy mofo.

  • @dtr125er Yo mama and who??

  • @mumbleora Yeah, good man.

  • that is how an engine is to be clean.

  • Nice looking engine :)

  • Where can i get this high pressure steam machine???

  • CLEAN THAT HEMI!!

  • thats a hemi sweet

  • nice video looks like a safe way to clean the engine

  • Has anyone ever used a handheld little steamer on the engine compartments?

  • yeah, good question. What about using one of those electric hand-held steam cleaners? u guys think it's any good? I just ordered one, u think it's as powerful as the one you were using?

  • I have a handheld one i got used for $20 with a retail of $75, no it wont do shit......you need to use the ones at the select carwashes or use some simple green brushes and a hose like i did, i reccomend the simple green and hose method, got mine shiny like new

  • @ihatemuckdjs if she is not hot, she wil get pissed off because that shit stinks.

  • @ihatemuckdjs lol no

  • spray WD-40 into any wires that are showing and you can spray wd-40 on the alternator too so water wont affect it

  • have you done that? cause i need to clean the engine on my ford escort turbo diesel and im worried about anything going wrong.

  • just get a zip lock bag and a couple of rubber bands to hold it in place, should be fine. Also you must remember that out of the factory the engine compartment and everything inside was meant to be water RESISTANT so just steaming it i doubt would put enough water to damage it. Just bag it to be safe :)

  • yeah and the steam isnt gonna wash it away.clearly youve never used WD-40.

  • no steam is not gonna wash it away and no i dont steam clean my engine it doesnt do the job i use green stuff degreaser and work the product in with a tire brush and yes i use wd-40 on wires.... u clearly dont know what WD stants for Water Displacement....

heres a good example of cleaning a engine....

  • @robby844 wd dries hard.

  • @ihaveabutt how is that possible when its an oil?

  • @robby844 it doesnt lubricate for extended periods..it dries fast and :hard: which means it has lost its lubricating propertis...good for squeeky doors bad for alternator pulleys and other moving parts..

  • @ihaveabutt ok if thats what you wanna believe. is that why the little bit of over spray on my driveway has been there for 3 months and is still an oily mess?

  • @robby844 its a solvent not a lubricant.. thats why you use it to remove adheasives.. like stickers. heres something from the website WD-40 removes sap, tar, adhesives, labels and tape from surfaces without damaging existing paint. It's an effective cleaner for tools, equipment, and vehicles. Use it to remove splattered bugs from the front of cars. WD-40 will even help remove gum from carpet. Just spray, wait, and wipe with a clean cloth.

  • @ihaveabutt say what you think. you just look like a dipshit the more you say.

  • @robby844 not really trying to look lik anything....wd40 WILL lubricate..but its mostly a solvent made up of tryglicerol and polypropelyne oils. im no genius at all. just tryin to put in my .02 and experience with the product...dont get me wrong i like it. i use it alot.. id rather smear some motor oil on something to lube it before i go spraying away with wd

  • @ihaveabutt i use pb blaster now. ever since wd got all "EF" it has turned to junk and doesnt work any more.

  • I think the problem for alternators isn't electrical -- it's the grease getting washed out of the bearings. I'm guessing WD-40 isn't the right lubricant to replace that grease, either.

  • Can this not fuck up ur engine with all that water or remove oil and shit?

  • If you own a Toyota, you do not need to worry about water getting into electronics. GM,Ford,Dodge,Honda, and Nissan you have to be carefull. If you do clean your engine,Gunk or Purple will work great. After you clean be sure and gloss all bubber and plasic parts.Final Detail works well. Look uo final detail on internet. I get it through Auto Chem. Have Fun.

  • What is this steamer? Where can I buy one? How much do they cost? Can I rent one?

The little ones on the infomercials are crap!

  • Do you have to cover up the electrical parts to prevent a shortage with this type of cleaning? I'd like to clean the engine on my 85 vette but I'm worried I'll fuck something up ha ha

  • If I ever saw u on the street being statng white power, i would fuck u up so bad u have no idea. Those days are over chief.

  • wow guys comon. you shouldent have to carry a gun in the first place.

  • Im not an expert but it seems like a good precaution to also disconnect your battery and leave your hood up for a few hours to let everything dry, so if you did get any electrical components wet they would hopefully dry before you put current through them.

    p.s. WHITEPOWER!!

  • exactly.what these people dont know is how much better life would be.

  • nice, i need to do this to my old 87 ranger. nothing has ever been cleaned in that truck for 21 years. couldve used it on the rims too, half inch of packed dirt and mud and anything else that trucks driven through
