U Are The Best Man Thanks On Tips I Got MOre Then 3 videos of u talking about this in my favourites... I am doing this music for 8 years and this helps me a lot for my studio and producing...
yea that sounds more realistic.......i dont really believe in stacking at least 3 times per voice.....thats ridiculous.....some choruses dont get stacked at all and just have a different effect put on it
I got a question, ive been writing for a while now, and finally wrote some stuff im actually proud of. BUT i don't get the concept of "rapping on beat" because ive just been writting songs, verses ect. and only spittin it out loud.
My only guess is that its: putting a certain amount of bars into count of beats. But im pretty sure thats totally wrong.
ur not stupid, sum people will say you are but they get off on making you feel bad rather than helping spread knowledge. to answer your question, all music has bars, its a measure of time, and the tempo determines how long each bar lasts. as an emcee, you need to write a certain number of bars to match the number of bars in the verse (usually 16) when writing, you should write listenin to the beat ur usin, so the tempo fits. it sounds complex but like the dude below me said its art not science
The concept of rapping on beat is that when you spit it goes with the beat, the flow of your verse is like water it should flow with the beat smoothly and if it doesn't you go back and clean up your verse so it can work.
When writing to a beat just sit and listen to the beat and think of shit in your head that works with the beat as a whole and then write it down and continue branching off that, it'll get easier.
I use to have somewhat of the same problem I use to write Big words in a rap joint which i still do but I now shorten those words up to fit the bar. If thats what your problem is then try shortenen your reads.Practice makes perfect homie
the bars in your verse need to match the bars in the beat. so say you were writing a rap verse in poetry form - one line of the verse on one line of the sheet, then started the next line of the rhyme below it, etc. well each line needs to have just the right amount of syllables to fit the bars of the beat, and that would be known as the bars in your verse. as time goes along how you write your bars become your own rhyme style, but keep in mind they need to fit that 1-2-3-4 count.
@viperpulse So for a rap beat it is a 4 count so it should only be 4 words or how long should it be and can you give my a example of the amount of syllables sorry if this bugs hey dude aka I am a good lyrist check me out
@UltraEnigmaRaps67 almost every rap beat is 4 count but it's like playing music. you can do 8th notes 16th, 32nd, 64th however you need it, but you gotta make sure it lines up. and when you write there are always words that are emphasized and those should line up with the drums. just nod your head with the drums and try to rap along the head nods. take some music classes if you gotta
@Owlistik You got to actually write to the beat dood, You just can't write something & put it to the beat... lol You got to listen to the beat & write to it
@hickeybilly true . sometimes i write something and decide to use it for another beat, but i can still spit it, but it seems to fast for the actual mood of the lyrics . that's why i stopped writing . i just spit until i mess up, take it out the screw up, and then think of the next thing to say and build on that .
@Owlistik rapping on beat is saying your saying a word on that bar right perfectly on the clap of the instrumental. any rap song you hear they will say a word on the clap. but your bars have to flow with your clap and melody, and flow is basicly your speed fitting to the instrumental and not being choppy or mis saying or stuttering with it. but thats all instinct to do if you memorise your rap or song good enough.
I am amazed at some people. They always try contradicting someone. If you don't like what the guy is saying well someone will find it useful. There are different ways of doing things. What works for someone may not work for another. So please accept the difference and tolerate other people's opinions. At least this guy is helping someone and I appreciate that helping attitude even if the principle used is not considered as best practice. Because you can achieve what he is saying with effects.
There's no such rule for music of any genre's chorus! I've been writing for 12 years. This is like telling Picasso you have to use red and draw a house in every painting. Someone told me once that I have to start every song with a 12 bar verse, I told him "Say's Who?" Then Eminem showed up and changed the way rap was done...
yea um Waves has a plug-in called doubler if i'm not mistaking (i have it but my pro tools is not open) but basically u make em into 3, 6 all off of one. it slightly detunes each and shifts the timing just a lil to make it sound like another take but not too much to sound off beat. look it up
@Desiksden haha he dident say nearly enough as he should of to fully explain how to make a choris ligit.

i produce, and i've done this.
but i've never stacked my voc's on chorus 3 times...
cuz when i do, its the same voice, so it sounds wack.
i just add 2nd voc w/ some chorus effect..

Im not saying this is the correct way of doing anything but try to fit what you want to say into a certain amount of bars.
so for instance try to fit every line into two bars (two eight counts) . Just focus on getting it on the beat.
Try Something easy to flow to start, so when you put it with music you can fit all your lyrics in within a certain amount of bars.
Once you feel comfortable you can extend of that, make it more complex, flow to a faster beat, use more complex ryhmes.

@JayChyldress Sure u can do that but it doesn't always fit... & you got to know how to write bars a lot of kid's just startin don't
hickeybilly 10 months ago
@JayChyldress Nah ur right u can use any verse on a beat & it does have to sound right... Idk I'd rather write to it the other way is kind of a mess

@Owlistik If you have the music ability you'll know when to go on the beat. Don't get confused with the math of it. It's a feeling.

whats about the verse whats a good way to get the verse sound fresh like the chorus....(like the way it sounds full with the beat?)
is there a way to make the vesrse sound the same and still get the chorus to sound different?
