I disagree. The intonation and clarity of the parts is much better. Not only do these singers do more with less voices, there's a freshness to the performance that's charming, and a sense of risk that's sympathetic with the lyric.
The beauty of art is that people may disagree what makes something beautiful. UC is a great school. Keep up the good work. BTW I have one of those music degrees too. My experience, after 10 years in pro music, is to get another one in business administration; the music one is virtually worthless for making a decent living in our materialistic Amerika. Research shows that the chances of making good money (over a lifetime) in music is about the same as the chances of winning a state lottery.

I am not in Music for the money. I am in it for the joy. Music is my life. My mother was a choir and music teacher. My father was a band director and now works at home with amatuer musicians and singers making there own CD's.
Considering you are a music major, and you are using The Fray as an example and proof of your "expertise", I would consider you a liar. No person would claim they are the best of their class and expect that to win an argument. These singers are good, unimaginably so. Even if it is not to your taste, to claim "They suck im leaving it at that" shows only ignorance, not intelligence.

Yes, I'm clearly the "stupidest" (considering that is NOT a word, thank you). I had no problem with your opinion until your words of "they suck im leaving it at that. im a music major i know this!!!!", which shows an attempt of yours to convince that your opinion is reliable and thus not be an opinion, but fact.
Of course The Fray is a bit better..they acutally had instruments and got the chance to re-record it if they messed up. If you're a music major, you, of all people, should be able to appreciate all forms of music. You should just say that it sounds good and leave it at that. These guys are great. They get one shot at each performance to get it right. I'm sure you've messed up a few times before with no chance to go back and fix it right then and there. Have more appreciation.
