i have one of these but its the 9.5, it runs grea but has some lever controls hooked up to it, i have the tiller handle but i dont know how to hook it up, only reason i havent used the boat
On the 12' Mirrocraft, same load, same reservoir, it was 1.6 mph faster on the GPS. My '57 Johnson got 15.6 with a pretty high pitch 2-blade brass prop and it didn't seem to be over-revving. This 1980 ran 17.2 with the stock 3 blade and felt like it could pull more pitch. The same boat with a '59 10hp QD-20 hit 22.1 with a 2-blade brass 8x10 prop.

This has become one of my favorite motors. It starts easily, idles well, has good torque and top-end and is easy on gas!

those old johnson sea nymphs will last forever, i used a 9.9 on a 12' jon boat it went at leats 20 mph (32 km/h)
