  • WTF?????

  • @05:42

"You will have a marvelous journey. And, young as you are, what matter if it costs you some pain - even a little blood."

You can just sense the irony in this movie. XD

  • @Akty10 They didnt know how to put sounds into the movie they had real people play on the pianos at the theatres

  • Do these really have too be spelled in words? I read a book of this vampire countorlok! And THIS IS IT?! JUST A STUPID SENTENCE THEY DONT EVEN TALK!!!!!!!!!

  • I think that in 3:35, the sequence where Nina says "Why did you kill them... the lovely flowers?" is missing... (but maybe it depend of edition. I saw this film with a bit different colours).

It is a pity. I like this quote, I always think of it when I see some flower bouqet...

  • Someone needs to remake this film,I would gladly pay for it

  • @anakinfan8 brams stokers dracula is actualy a remake...

  • @anakinfan8 herzog's nosferatu 1979 with the great klaus kinsky

  • Thanks for posting this great classic!!!!!!

  • this is so disturbing

  • who ever poud this film up i like the movie but i hate the silent stuff

  • i wish movie back them had color the whole bllack n white isnt creative

  • @KaminaDragon

Well, that was probably all they had at the time. Color wasn't 'till later.

  • vampires don't fucking sparkle!!

  • @scratchmaster101 `twilight really sucked didnt it :/

  • i seriously need to find this somewhere,,,so i can pruchase it.

  • its count orlock not dracula

  • Clothing from back then beats today's, but the haircuts do not.

  • Thank you so much four posting this

  • sincerely, Dracula is the only one vampire that made me not wish to bump with him never....in the book, the character really scared me...and that's why he's my favorite vampire of all, just because he's the only vampire that can be called in that way.

Bram Stoker is the master...that's all I got to say.

  • it was baned in some places for beingto scary when it came out

  • Wow! This was before even old school was invented.

  • Happy dayz

  • @Loyd500

No no, this is a fresh take on Stoker's 19th century novel, using high-tech 20th century media....!

  • lolz i love this kinda of movies :P classsssssssic !

  • How I wish the modern times were more like the early Victorian era.. Where elegance and morals were treasured most predominately and above all else, rather than cheap thrills and the desire to accumulate wealth.. *sigh*

Well, we can always dream, and those, I suppose, can never be taken away from us

Thank you so much for this, greedymuppet

  • hmm- don't really understand your comment because to me it always seemed like the Victorian era (which was also the height of the industrial revolution) was extremely materialistic and dedicated to capitalism and the accumulation of wealth

besides, this "moral" society was the same one that treated women as a sub-intelligent race, and came up with the brilliant idea of colonialism...

sorry I just don't really understand this nostalgia. things aren't better or worse now, they're just different

  • Yes, I do agree with you in terms of the industrial revolution and wealth.. but I'm sure we can both agree that the desire is evident even moreso now in today's society (what with the great loss of jobs and economic flaws), but, I do see where you are coming from.

And in terms of morales and the outlook of women, there are still many individuals who see women as inferior to males.

But, what I meant in terms of my previous comment was that people were a lot more neighborly,

  • and would offer there hand to their fellow being, rather than this current state of seperation due to fear of having breached one's privacy. In all fairness, however, humans did ruin that as well; for, back during the time period we're speaking of, people would leave notes on their doors saying that they were out, without a thought in their minds' that they would be robbed.

Anyways, sorry for getting offtrack, but I do see your perspective and where you are coming from.

    Cheers.

  • I dont know, I find the victorian era to suppressive towards women and their rights. I wouldnt enjoy it at all. HOWEVER, I love the fashion of the time and wouldnt mind running around in corsets and hats and what not

  • @Rabid1ne ... those things didnt exist in 1922? pick up a history book.

  • 4:10-5:39 i don't get it.... :(

  • "Theres unpleasant rumors about him" LOL i wonder what that's suppose to mean but that whole part is about agent reinfield telling our main chracter about dracula wanting to buy his house i think

  • this is soooo old

  • no one cares if it's old. People care if the movie is good or not.

  • no one has apreciation for the classics anymore

  • I've seen your own dog shove a watermelon up it's ass..how is your mother today?

  • LOL ahhaah

  • now this is a real vampire movie, not that twishit that you like to call amazing. no vamps ant supposed to be pretty, there suposed to be ugly as hell

  • books that are older than this movie, talk about them having great beuty and all that crap

  • still when i comes to vamp movies, this pwns

  • i think it would prob. be better if it wasnt in black and white and they could talk

  • twilight is so overated

this is what im talkin about :)

scary shiiiit not some hollywood hottie

  • If youtube had a 'like' button, I would like this comment:)

  • Bram Stoker is amazing

  • I love old movies. It's interesting to watch something like this.

And I love vampires hehe. Vampire romance novels or movies are nice, but Twilight sucks.

Stephanie Meyer could never be like Bram Stoker or any other good author.

  • god damn it!this is hell..classic hell...

  • i vote for the next vampire film to be an epic battle between two authors... it can be Bram Stoker VS Stephanie Myers! whaddya say?

  • Bram Stoker wins cause his story isn't full of fan fictiony bullshit. No contest.

  • Myers? PFFFT! Stoker wins hands down,

He set the foundation for the vampire mythos and created an immortal eternal character who will last through the ages IMHO.

  • i agree.. i just want to she stephany myers tortured to the shit because her retarded adaptation to the vampire theme was a fucking spew fest. Fuck twilight makes me sick

  • this is a vampire film not some fucking twilight crap

  • one of the fuckin scary movies i ever seen......the music gives me nightmares. nosferatu.a classic of silent horror.

  • at 3:29 that girl looks like a guy

  • umm...Mina Harker/Ellen Hutter was played by Greta Schroeder, who definitely was a woman...but ok...

  • Great movie. Great black and white times.

  • Know the difference

    Nosferatu:Real Vampire

    Twilight:GAY!

  • i remember watching this at 200 in the morning lol

  • This is my first time seeing this & I'm not really into black & white silent movies. The music to me is a creepy sense & tells you that something bad will happen.

  • This isn't the music that went with the film when it was released. There was no music, except for someone playing organs.

  • the script writer made up a lot of vampire weakness like the fact that they cant be near garlic was only made up because of their strong sense of smell, alot was made up-the ending was actually made up because up budget cuts and stuff they culdnt do-he was originally supposed to fly out when the sun came out but they werent able to get permission to do that=[ ive nevr seen this movie i hope i love it=]

  • That vampires have a weakness for garlic is not the invention of the screenwriter -- it is from Stoker's novel itself, and, prior to that, various superstitions and folklore. Garlic has a rich and ancient symbolic history as a cure-all and a potent weapon against various dark forces/powers. Stoker rather promiscuously bothered here and there for his novel, and I can't remember now precisely what he borrowed from where, but aversion to garlic is quite old.

  • Nosferatu!!! wow, and to think he is supposed to sparkle in sunlight

    (GO TO HELL TWILIGHT)

  • I think the old classic versions of movies are way better. Modern remakes just never live up to them.

  • Old horror films actually concentrate on tension and REAL horror, as opposed to modern stuff that just concentrates on gore, which I think isnt scary but pretty fuckin gross.

  • Yea like they no longer care in trying to scare you the old way, they rather use a lot of gore and sometimes pointless stories to scare people.

Nosferatu rules!! and looks freaking creepy lol.

  • nowadays horror films use mainly music to scare you....darkness, loud music in the right moment and a scream...that's the magic formula

  • its more like the vampires that europeans thought were real

    than dracula the book was.

  • i saw this a few weeks ago on Turner Classic Movies channel but i didn't get to see the whole thing.

  • I first saw this movie a couple of years ago on Zone Horror...when it was the Horror Channel...and I loved it! Thanks for uploading!

  • i really like taht film but i can't find it :(

  • this movie was a major achievment for film but a tragedy for vampires

  • Lolwut? Twilihumper.

  • lulz, how so? this is what vampires SHOULD be....ugly dark monsters that chill u to ur bone....not pretty little faces with strength that is WAY outa porportion with their flimsy puny bodies....

Nosferatu is a legendary 'realistic' vampire! :D

  • Also Max Schreck is actually pretty close to the traditional European folklore image of the vampire as a repulsive literal walking corpse that feeds on the blood of the living like a leech.

  • cool beans, i'll have to take a look-see!

  • who says cool beans no offense

  • i do of course! lulbitch

  • Nosferatu is a little tricky one is not really Count Dracula because the directer F.W Murnau coud not get the "rights" of Bram Stroker (creater of Dracula) to call him Dracula so Murnau chance his name to Count Orlok. Thats the story everybody.

  • so this is really a DRACULA story?

  • pretty much

  • Does anyone know what kind of life did max schreck live? Was it a good one, or miserable one. I was just wondering if in real life was he very eccentric. Still, great, legendary performance.

  • who would win in a battle bram stoker drac or nosferatu

  • That's tough to say. They're similar, but Nosferatu has a more primal thing about him going on, like he's a vessel for evil, which means he lacks inhibitions and lets predatory instincts take over. Bram's is more like Hannibal Lecter, where he's intelligent, manipulative, charming...but he does have dark impulses hidden beneath the cool exterior...so I would say Bram's, simply for the fact that he's sexier so I'd want him to win.

  • @greedymuppet actually, nosferatu is "vampire" indicated for the film and the people who call te vampire Nosferatu, is actually called by Count Orlock. U might b saying by now, "wat does tat have to do with anything since most ppl know this already?" I'm just saying it because this still chills me to the bones. :)

  • i cant belive how much i love old vampires movies

  • GlockSmoke is an idiot but why state the obvious?

  • Great movie ^^

  • great!!!!!!!!!!

  • This film is awesome...it's amazing to see the difference between films now and films back then. I think this is outstanding, especially for 1922!
