I wish people would stop being so biased. Spain is a different culture from America or anywhere else in the world, and if you've never worked at a track, you should just keep your mouth shut. I practically grew up in a track, and they were no where NEAR as bad as this was. They were perfectly healthy greyhounds, well-cared for and loved. We can't help what other people do, so instead of bitching about it, GET OFF YOUR ASS AND GO ADOPT SOME FREAKING DOGS!!!

I have two girls Zoe and Jazz who were bred for racing. They were raised as pets with toys and a huge backyard to play in. Zoe is the only one who got into the racing world (for a few months) and I know for a fact she LOVED to race. She became restless and bored when she stopped racing. Don't blame racing, the dogs were born for it and they love it! These pictures are horrible though. I couldn't bear the thought of that being my babies. Some people don't deserve to call themselves human!

What should be done is that you don't get any money from winning the dog race, then only people who want to give some exercise to their dogs would be there

Oh my gosh ashleyy. i havee a retired greyhound from the now shut down track in seabrooke new hampshire. we adop[ted her at the age of 4, and she is now 10 :) those pictures are unbelieveable! the dogs in the trash cans?! WTF!!!??? and the insanely anorexic greyhounds. people are freaking rediculous~!

@claytonl2010 The ears are removed by those that give greyhound racing a bad name. The ears are tatooed and are removed as if to remove a person's fingerprints. That way the ingrates that owned the dogs can't be traced to its remains.

its not the racing that abuses them, its their owner that tortures them. the owner puts them in small cages, they put small muzzles on them they abuse them o run, not the racing part, the ppl who do it

It's true.The MAJORITY of professional gh owners and trainers do not abuse their dogs like this.But how many of the pro's keep their gh's as pets once their career is over?(and I mean ALL their dogs,not just the one or two)How many are prepared to pay a rescue their costs in homing those dogs?Very few.THATS why the sport should be stopped.The gh rescues DAILY turn away dogs for lack of room and funds!

i have litterally only just adopted a greyhound, he's 3 years old and was retired as he tore his leg muscles. he has scars all over the back half of his body, it makes me so sad to think that these things still happen. he's so chilled out and i beg other people to seriously consider a rescued grey :)

Prosecute the people who mistreat the greyhounds, not the people who love and care for their racers as they should. The people who starved the greyhounds in this presentation are beyond scum...but the vast majority of greyhounds are very well cared for. This video is for shock value, and it shows horrible atrocities. You can also see human beings suffering similar fates, but no one calls for a ban on having children. The answer is RESPONSIBLE BREEDERS and TRAINERS, not some misguided ban.

I just hope it's true they are taken much better care of than activists say, and that their not mistreated and put to sleep when they can't race well anymore, but are put into good homes. Then, racing is fine with me, as long as the dogs are treated well.

I have a Grey and i love her with all my heart! She is a retired racer and yes very much retired.. You have to wake her up to eat. lol she is so much fun though and so kind hearted. Every night she sleeps with my kitten. If you can afford one go adopt one. You wont regret it. They can fill that space in ur life. And I hope that together we can stop this horrible thing.

Don't thank me, I only visited Noah's Arc Animal Rescue Centre in souther Spain, which concentrates on rescuing the galgos (greyhounds) that are abused, shot, hung, and otherwise brutally exploited in Spain. The U.K. expats are sick of it and have formed their own rescue groups. They have made some fantastic videos (see Noah's Arc Spain- yes, spelled with a 'c') and do great work in healing and finding homes for these gentlest of dogs. They are the true heroes of dogs, not me.

This IS sad...good thing it's propaganda. I listened to the message for years and bought it. In 2002, I was in a position to make an unannounced visit to a track and get a tour including restricted areas. I found spotless kennels, happy, HEALTHY dogs and meat fit for humans. I also found GOOD, CARING PEOPLE. I have read ALL of the stats. Have you? Yes, dogs are injured and some euthanized. It's MINISCULE compared to those who race a few years and retire to happy homes. Don't be fooled.
