Well that's just strange. The combo on my claw is (bottom to top) wolf, hawk, dragon. But it wouldn't work and this one did. o.O

@LiveMusicFanUK Yeah, I figured that out when I completed the Forgotten Legend quest. The Iron and Ivory Claws look so much alike I couldn't tell which one was being used in the door.

Ancient wise man: Let's build a temple to keep our secrets. Make traps that shoot pins at those too blind to see the pressure platform. Also seal the treasure in a room with a key AND an expensive code device. But not to forget the code, let's write it down on the key. And pay the zombies in gold for guarding the temple... say 1 septim per 100 years, should be enough for beer. Make sure there's enough oil for the torches, they must keep burning non stop for a thousand years on. XD

@MrFrankie, Except the code on the claw is wrong. My Ruby Claw says Wolf, Eagle, Wolf.

Yet when you use this code on the door, omg fire!!

ah crap, i forgot the answer is on the claw since its been so long since the first mission with a claw. I kept thinking that it had to do with the three engravings on either side of the room. there was a guy dressed like a wolf and one like a falcon and one with dragon flames, so i thought that was somehow the answer. oops.

Thanks so much for this! I've been stuck here for quite some time--and I went here before I even had the quest and left because I couldn't get the door open. I'd swear I tried this combination because I spent 45 minutes eliminating combinations but I must have missed it! My screen is too small to see if anything is on the claw itself :(

There is another way other then looking at the claw in your inventory, there are 2 eagle statues at the door that breathe the fire, and if you go back upstairs on the wall there is a similar one that looks like a dragon or whatever it is. That's how I figured it out lol

@MrFrankie421 Clues like that are often times scattered throughout the dungeon. For example. to open the puzzle hatch right before this door, you have to mimic the statues in the room next to the lock. Knowing that, I guess it's common for people not to look at the claw because they assume that the clue should be visible in the dungeon somewhere, rather than written down on the key itself :/

@GrimjawxRULES For this cave I could not find any clues as what combination it would be, I back tracked a bit and still couldnt find any clues. Also the first quest involving one of these claws, there is a Note that explains that the clue is on the claw, Glad i took the time to read it.

@MrFrankie421 Even those of us that are looking at the claw, the combination does not work/does not exist. Mine was Snake, Wolf, Dragonfly, and there was no Snake or Dragonfly on the stone wheels :/ Hence YouTube. lol.

how do i solve the pilar puzzles

@oKRYOGENICzx Just mimic the clues. For instance, one room has Snake, Whale and Eagle. Go in the other room and mirror the pillars. Then go back out into the throne room and on the other side will be a ring. There's another puzzle with 2 clues on the left and 2 clues on the right. As you travel through the hallway just turn the pillars respectively to the side of the room and the corresponding clue. (I.E first pillar on left = left clue and first pillar on right = first right clue.)
