Like in the movie, it's cool, but the average computer user won't use it because they deal with smaller details, like data entry, programming, etc, rather than larger items like windows and images. The input interfaces we have now evolved naturally based on our interactive needs and our physiology, and will likely continue for decades more.
It would be useful as part of a public kiosk in a shopping mall or in an operating room where touching common or public surfaces is not desired.
@thinkofwhy Really? Average computer users I'm pretty sure just check their email and go on Facebook. and for typing they could just speak. Microsoft is already thinking about putting Kinect into their laptops.
@macaw2000 Well, .NET is comprised of high-level languages, which are more about the what and less about the how. Hardware interaction like this is usually done with lower-level languages.
