  • This game and song really make a kickass duo and TotA must be one of the last engrossing, captivating games of the ps2 era.

  • @xXETIKETxX

    Now it is!

  • @xXETIKETxX Its a game not an anime. Tales of the Abyss for the PS2, a most underrated RPG series that is very popular...but not really popular in western areas due to Namco's lack of good marketing...The song is from a niche game title in Atelier Iris series.

  • @Yunglex313 You just replied to a 7 month old comment. and Tales of is not underrated, it's the most popular RPG series in NA that's not made by Square Enix. Everyone who knows RPG's, knows the Tales of series. And the lack of popularity has little to do with namco's marketing, there's simply no market for RPG's in North America. And "Atelier Iris series" is not a game. Nor is there a such thing as "Atelier Iris series" There's an Atelier series with an Iris branch.

  • This is a game, not an anime. It's Tales of the Abyss for the PS2. There is also an anime of it, but this video was made before that anime existed.

  • @CrimsonDragon24

    Actually :)

They released anime, but as always WAY TOO COMPRESED version :(

  • I only speak english, sorry.

  • I don't think it's bad for a first AMV. ;) I've seen worse than yours, but it's pretty good that most people try their best to make their first AMVs cool. xD

Do you have an instrumental version for this song, btw? I can't find one.

  • As far as i know, none exist. Sorry.

  • Thanks.

  • yo!!, cool AMV, i just about to make an AMV of tales of the abyss by myself, the theme song is hakanaku mo towa no kanashii(UVERworld), or blade of tears(shimotsuki haruka), what do you like most?(hakanaku or blade of tears)

  • Thanks.

I don't know either song specifically, but UVERworld is abit too well-known at this point i think, so i'd go with the lower calibur artist.

  • hmm you're right, i'll think about it, thanks 4 the suggestion!!

  • No problem.

  • Nice AMV. I absolutely love this song, and it fits well with the AMV... Though it's an "epic" type of a song, so I think it'd fit well with most anime-type games... Or anime-type things in general.

  • Thanks, but i disagree.

An "Epic" sounding song can only fit something with an epic storyline that matches the song if you ask me.

  • The song and vid fits VERY WELL. I wouldn't say it's the best, per se. But I do give it points for synchronisation.

  • Thanks.

Looking back on it, it really isn't that bad for a first AMV, is it?

  • Nice job. =^_^=

Hooray for Atelier Iris and Tales of the Abyss~ =]

  • Thanks ^.^

  • You're welcome. *(^.^)*

  • ;) i cant stop watching this...

  • Haha, glad you like it, but you should find a better AMV to watch >.>

  • stil cant stop watching it..i will say it is 3th best if that will sound better?(it is 1th) x3

  • LOL no offence, but you have bad judgement if you think it's that good >.>

  • no it really is awesome and best witch i have seen..I have watched it over and over again..sng fits awesome and video too...this is not bad job..this is best ..really..I havent even started to make videos..It will be very very hard to beat that..u r too hard to ur self..this is awesome job..not bad..n_n ever seen better1!!

  • Haha, well, once you start making AMV's yourself, you start looking at them differently. And seeing the faults in the worse ones (like this)

  • Awesome..O_O good work..this is best in whole world..^^

  • thanks but that is going way too far o.O i did a really bad job on this AMV x_x my later ones are better, but they're still not great. Not even close.

  • Great AMV ! The music suits the scene. you did a good job

Love the Atelier and Tales series. The song is great too. I downloaded the whole soundtrack just for it

  • Thanks, but i'm gona have to disagree lol.

I think i did a pretty bad job on this AMV (it is my first after all) but i'm glad you liked it.

i love all of Gust's games and the Tales series aswell (well, i dislike most of the recent Tales games)

  • could you send me the song please ?

  • Sure, PM me your email address.

  • this is fucking awesome XD

i didn't realice you did it dragon dood

  • Thanks, but i think my AMV's got alot better than this >.>

  • yeah but i don't like it for the video but for the song

  • With all due respect, Gado, that was a pretty insensitive thing to say. Considering the whole point of an amv is to match video with audio, saying you like an AMV for the song and not the video is basically like saying the amv itself is not worth watching.

  • wow crap

now that you meantion it i did sound like that... sorry you guys

  • Love this song!

  • Yeah, it's difficult to listen to this song and not fall completely in love with it.

  • is the orange hair man luke???

  • Yeah.

  • Heh, never expected to see a amv using TOA and AIGP. The music suits the game alright. But you know what I find odd? I have yet to seea TOA GMV using the opening to Ar Tonelico. I mean, both games stories have a sound/song motif, so it would seem natural to blend them. Eh, guess I just might be nuts XD

Anyway, I enjoy both the AI and Tales series, but I do have a slight problem with AI3. That is the graphics were a bit of a downgrade from AI2, and the quest system did get annoying at times.XD

  • The opening from Ar Tonelico would be hard to work with...but i could give it a try if you like.

I love all of Gust's games, and i didn't have any problem with AI3, graphics don't matter much to me, i didn't even notice a difference between AI2 and AI3, and i liked the quest system, it was a welcome change from the average RPG for me.

  • Eh, only if ya want to XD I'd do it, but I have no videa making skills XD (Dang WINDOWS 98)

Anyhoo, I love Gust games as well, especially the Altilier and Mana Khemia series. I've noticed though, the main character from MK 1 looks a bit like the main from AI2, and Flay from MK 1 shows similarities to the main of AI3. Not to mention a few monsters in MK look like Mana from AI.. And yet people say it aint a Altilier game. I mean, the begining of the game proudly presents "Project A9!" XD

  • Well Ar Tonelico had an "A Project" name too >.> i don't consider Mana Khemia a real Atelier game myself.

I recently started playing a new MMO which i'm really enjoying so i might not make anything for a while but when i do i'll try a TotA AMV with Ar Tonelico's opening song >.>

  • Um, I want the song too, I only have the cut version...Can you send the link to me?Thanks in advance.Anyway, The song fits the scenes shown.Nice work!

  • Thanks, currently i can't send you the link, sadly...my computer crashed and i'm at the library, the song can be found at a Tales-Fan site it's Abyssal Chronicals or something like that...if you don't know it just search it, the song is in the "Non-Tales" audio files. hope you find it alright.

  • Could you send give me the link for this full song? It's awesome and the video complemented it very well.

  • LOL yep, i should just post it in the discription, all the comments i've gtten recently just wanted the song lol.

    Just check your PM's

  • Nice first AMV. It's rare to see people using the cutscenes in which we don't see the characters.

Can you send the song to me too, please? I would appreciate it.

  • Thanks, i wanted to do something different and i'm glad you noticed.

sure i can send you the link to the song, it took me forever to find the full version so i'm happy to help others get it easier.

  • Thank you very much ^^ I feel kind of stupid now because it's on a site that I visit sometimes XD

  • Well not everyone checks the "Other Audio" files though they have some pretty good songs in there, so there's no reason to feel stupid.

  • can I get it too?

  • hey, do u still have the link to the song?

  • Yep, i'll send you a PM.

  • Do you know of a link to dowload the song?

  • I'll PM the link to you

  • Can I have the link too? I REALLY love this song!!!

  • Sure, just check your PM's.

  • THANK YOU FOR THE SONG!!!!

  • No Problem.

it's my personal favorite song ever since i got Atelier Iris 3, and it was really hard to find so i'm happy if i can help other people find it.

  • Oooooookay....Well I'd better stop crying out of jealousy and spam your vid. Once again good job.

  • lol thanks

  • Lucky is the only word that can come out of my mouth right now.

  • actually what i have seems to be below average for north america

most of my friends have alot more than i do and i know one guy in east Africa who has like every system ever made and a ton of games so yeah...

  • True but people who have the japanes version already can at least enjoy the pictures. One thing I'm starting to wonder about now days because of this game: Young Love....Should I worship them for it or not.

Anyway hope you got something to do cause I doubt that patch will come out soon.

  • yeah the patch most likely won't ever get finished from what i've read...

oh well i do have something else to do soon i'm getting Atelier Iris 3 and Disgaea 2 both for PS2 and then for christmas i'm getting a PSP and hopefully Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology

  • The game doesn't takes itself too serious true, but they still did a excellent job and the third version(Which some specific peeps don't want to release in English...t_t) Seems to have improved a little in storyline if you ask me.

  • i'm waiting for a patch to be finished to start playing the third since i can't udnerstand japanese...i'd love to start playing it now but without the story and character interaction it's not really worth it

  • Summon Nights? Don't blame em. Cliche is it's name but at least its better then other things on the gba.

You'r talking to a guy who only owns a pc and can't find a decent ps emulator. As much as Id like to play this game from the clip's, I'm afraid it's impossible.

Agree. Although it's a shame the fourth title in the series is a NDS exclusive.

  • actually i was referring to Tales of the World

it seems we've both got a bit mixed up now

Summon Night games were great not the best in my opinion they did have a somewhat weak storyline but great gameplay and the character interaction was great on both Swardcraft's released in North America

    Continued below

  • after playing both Summon Night's in north american the only thing i think could have been better was the story but the game doesn't take itself too seriously so you shouldn't expect a great story out of them anyways

  • Edit:Really need to pay more attention to what I'm writing. When I said it had everything, ment it more for the gba and I was talking about the tales of the world.

  • since i've heard it's story is bad and i haven't gotten to see it for myself i'd say Phantasia was better i really liked the story

Tales of the World 5 for me was just a good way to kill time beating random enemies up it kinda felt more like a mini-game than an actual game

don't get me wrong i still love it that's just what i thought

  • Pretty much like Summon Night. Difference is that game had everything and could be considered the best series for the gba. First game to have good voices in it also I think.

  • in my opinion all things considered it is the best

for story, characters, battle system, everything, all things considered i really think it is the best game i've ever played overall

  • Heh, this thing could be confused with a anime but in all honesty, it has too much details to actually be one longer then 20 minutes. Oh well, any chances theres a game on the gba for the tales series, except symphonia.

  • I mean Phantasia, my bad.

  • only GBA Tales of game other than Phantasia is the Tales of the World spin-off series and they're japan only so you need a patch

i hear their story sucks so it's better to play without the story nd there's no adventuring mostly just fighting

  • Cool =D

I dont kno the anime but it looks interesting xD

    Nice song too!=3

  • actually it's a game not an anime and one of the best games ever made in my opinion

    and thanks

  • If you thought this supposetly anime then I suggest to play the game.

    It's kickass in my opion.

  • I really need help right now.

    I'm working on a amv.

But how do you put in animated cut scene.

Like I know how to download it but when I got it and put it in window movie maker.

How do I split it apart and put that scene in without ruining the oringinal file.

Pretty much how do I make animated amv like yours.

    =3

  • I would have prefered if you asked in the group but oh well here it is

with WMM it's a little harder

1: you click "Import Video File" and choose your scene

2: you drag and drop it onto the time line

3: on WMM as far as i know you can't really split the clips

    Continued below

  • BUT you CAN make them short by clicking on the edge of the clip and draging it to the point you want it to start/end at like say you have a 1 minute clip but you only want from 20 to 30 seconds so you click on the left edge of the clip and drag it right until it starts at 20 seconds and then click the right side and drag it so it ends at 30 seconds

i downloaded a different program to make this easier but it's just a trial

    hope i helped!

  • Ok thanks.

Yeah maybe I should have said this in the group.

  • No problem just try and think about using the group next time

  • YAY YOU DID IT.

    =3

    It's really AWESOME.

  • Thanks there will be more to come this month and hopefully they'll be better
