i live no more than 8 miles from where this happened and yes i was shocked but you must understand they where not attacked coz they where goths. the boys had been drinking and taking drugs all that day and i believe that anyone who had gone into that park at that time and who would of responded to the abuse from them lads, would of got the same treatment, they attacked Sophie and her b/f coz they where i the wrong place at the wrong time, having said that the basterds should of got life
sophie's story hits a nerve for me because in the same year my boyfriend, a friend and me were also attacked in a park at halloween by a large group of around 30 neds, they came out of nowhere, they threw eggs and rocks at us, and tried to provoke us. simply because of how we dress. the worsed part was i knew some of them to talk to and faces from my high school. it was fucking sickening. my thoughts are forever with sophie's loved ones
I feel the exact same way, its so fucked up what happened, made me cry for weeks when i heard it. and if every goth were to be a murderer, then there would only be goth's left on this world, cuz there are so many goth's or whatever you want to call it, "different" people. I think its right what u are saying.
There are too many people out there who dont think life's precious, well it is! Even if she wore black, or red or blue clothes. I don't go around beating people to death with a group because they wear Vans or because they listen to a song I hate or because they are Ginger kids who some believe have no soul (which is also bull, bu ok).
They need to get a grip on reality and there should be more surveillance at schools to help kids with mental issues and irrational hatreds. RIP

I don't think that listening to a certain type of music creates a bad person. Eric and Dylan the Columbine high school gunmen may have liked Metal music but they took their life problems the wrong way. Music and video games may have given them ideas but it was the way they were bought up. I like horror films, Metal and other type of Rock music and I like videogames which are considered violent. But it's never changed me into a thug or psycho. It's helped me prevented me going down that road.

Sophie's death still affects me everyday.
Hey thanks for posting the video. There were about 5 people who attacked them that night and the sentences they recieved are disgusting. I remember when it happened I was working in a shop with my blue hair and dreads. One day a person came in and demanded I changed my appearance. I had been pleasant to her, my boss and coworkers were fine with my appearance yet this woman believed she had the right to verbally assult me for no reason. Everyone is different why cant people get that.
maybe we should all vote for a dictatorship around the world that kills criminals who killed ppl fro no reason. like race and stuff like that.
