  • This is what I don't understand. You want the bill of rights restored fully but then you want a program that takes 70%+ of some peoples income. How fair is that? I bet you get to keep more than 3 of every $10 you make. I am not trying to be nasty but it really seems that many liberals want their rights but are willing to trounce on others rights without thoughts of the ramifications.

  • @shananagans5 I am not going to continue to practice because of increased taxes and reduced income. My office charges roughly 10% of our patients $5 but we can't afford to do that anymore. We can no longer train students, who see patients for free, because now we will have to pay the gov to have students working for us as part of their education. That totals +/- 200 people a month that lose mental health care because the gov wants to force charity.

  • I'm sure you know that the way that things cannot stay the way it is. Yes things will change but I think you have a few items you don't know about. The next time the President speaks about this bill listen and maybe you'll have some of your questions answered. I know this is a sweeping reform but it's badly needed

  • And look at us now! You were right!

  • Thanks so much, this is one reason I've stopped doing vids for awhile.

  • Just a thought BUT do you think that the Tea baggers and the town hall protesters are trying to start a civil riot or war, Just so The commentaters on Fox and right wing radio can say that Obama has failed and he started a civil war? I know alot of people that listen to that stuff actually my sister believes everthing Beck say's she and these other people I know are really getting crazy listening to these right wing commentaters. It's hard to even have a normal conversation.

  • When I talk with these people they start saying the crazy stuff Rush Hannity Beck say, I try to change the subject but they keep bringing up stuff, I finally have to say stop watching fox news. I believe the right wing commentaters are doing damage to our country

  • I know what you mean. First of all the very same thing happened when they passed Medicare back in the 60's. Now people are saying, "leave my medicare alone" these people don't even know that medicare and medicaid are single payer programs and the sky hasn't fallen. Ther're just scared.

  • I've seen the same things. Our country has become too polarized, and we owe that to certain poisonous elements that have contaminated our discourse. I'm an Army veteran, partially disabled due to injuries sustained in the service of my country, and I've had people call me unpatriotic and un-American because I believe what I believe. If you look at our history you'll see that things have at times been like that, during periods when emotions ran high. We as a people are susceptible to that...

  • You did the most patriotic thing for our country and I'm sorry this happened to you.

I belieeve as you do that we have the duty to question our gov't. at any time. That's being patriotic. I don't want to live in a dictatorship

  • Its funny because here in Australia,

If you support the conservative side of politics you would be considered to be more of a racist [I am not saying they are but that would be the perception] than the centre-left progressive [if you like] side of politics the side that I support.

And its the same here in Australia people on the two sides of politics [I wouldnt say hate] but are very different in the way we think about things, so your not alone in America

  • It6's good to know that this is universal lol

Thanks so much for watching. One day I plan to come down there

  • PART FOUR

an Iraqi child...he received a hefty sentence. And the Abu Graib scandal, a handful of military personnel were punished for their involvement in that scandal. I don't know all the details of the story I watched but I do hope the next president will look into it and punish those involved. I fully support our troops but when they break the law they should be punished. Anyway, I wanted to vent after exchanging comments with this one guy and I thought...I'll come here.

    Peace!!

  • I agree with you totally. Of course we need a military. There will always be extremists but the balance has to be accountability. Yes there are profitering crimes going on in Iraq but shutting down the military is crazy

  • Amen Sister! I finally told the individual that we could still be friends who agreed to disagree because there was no way to convince me that we would be better off without a military. I shudder to think of the hell we would experience in America. There would be massive air raids and a hellish ground campaign against our citizens. It would be a nightmare.

    Peace!!

  • PART THREE

I just think that "loons" who feel we should have no military have never really considered what life is like in certain Muslim countries where there is no freedom of religion and women can be stoned for being seen alone with a man not her husband and homosexuals can be stoned or hung. It really irritates me that some people blame the ENTIRE military for the sins of a few. This guy fails to remember the story of the soldier in Iraq who was tried for the rape and murder of

  • PART TWO

that if tomorrow we chose to get rid of our military that within a week countries like Cuba, Argentina, North Korea, Iran and others who view the USA unfavorably would band together and attack us and our citizens would face such great horror. Shockingly he said if that happened if would fulfill Bible prophecy. I'm not a scriptorian but do not recall the US being prophesied to be doomed to be taken over. I'm not an extremist at all. I am left leaning but by no mean am I an extremist.

  • PART ONE

One of my YouTube friends recently shared with me a video that discusses a female soldier who was apparently beaten and possibly sexually assaulted but the military ruled her death as a suicide. He was very angry and said we should get rid of our military. I was quick to tell him that this story upsets me and that those guilty of the crime and cover-up should be punished. Then I let him know how horrible it would be for our nation if tomorrow we disbanded our military. I told him...

  • I can't imagine someone calling a liberal a racist. I'm a proud liberal-minded individual. Democrats tend to care more for all people of all races. I was a strong supporter of Senator Hillary Clinton. I'm not a huge fan of Senator Barack Obama but I will definitely throw my support to Obama before I vote for Senator John McCain. McCain's service during Vietnam is commendable but that alone does not make him qualified to be president. I'm ready for change so that is why I'll be voting Obama! 5*

  • I enjoyed this video and look forward to hearing more from you. I refuse to talk politics with my church members who all believe that voting for the GOP candidate is the right thing to do. Whatever! I believe the Democratic party is the most caring party.

  • I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Right now I'm in a Video slump but I'll be back. As a democrat I used to like McCain, but he's nothing like he used to be, plus in my eyes he's becoming another Bush and that just not what our country needs.

Thank you so much for talking to me about this

  • I agree with you, the McCain of 2000 was different. Democrats liked McCain then and many Republicans hated him. We can't withstand another 4 or 8 years of the same. God help us all if McCain does win.

  • I truly belive Obama will win this. What an historic year this has been. We are watching real history being made this time. Who would have thought even 10 years ago that a woman and an African American would capture our hearts and become president. I'm proud

  • I really hope Obama will win. As soon as it became obvious that Hillary could not win, I shifted my support to Obama. It would be great if he chose Hillary or another strong female as his running mate. This would make it TRULY a historic campaign. Of course, if there's a female running mate, this would not be the 1st time. When Mondale ran for president Geraldine Ferrarro was his running mate. By the way, I always reply to questions of patriotism by informing people that (Continued)

  • back in the 80s I served my country in the US Navy and I support our troops even if I disagree with the war. I would NEVER put down our troops. They are just following orders. I learned to distrust our government during my service as a sailor with a security clearance. I learned how sneaky we really are as a government. I can not go into details for obvious reasons.

  • Yanno we did a terrible thing to our men after Vietnam. We treated then very badly. Thank god we've learned our lesson there. Even though I totally opposed to this war I think our men are heros. I am very aware of what are men and women truly feel about this war. When you talk about sneaky, I completely know what your talking about

  • Oh I remember that. Unfortunatley that year belonged to the Republicans.

  • I hear that. McCain was a real hero, but I feel he's past his prime. I also liked Hillary but I'm really starting to like Obama. After this trip he just took I saw that he was so well recieved. That's very good for our country going forward. I think he has what it takes. I am convinced that Hillary will be part of his cabinet and that could be a good thing.

Thank you for your comments on both videos

  • mccain and obama are essentially the same (so was hillary).

it amazes me that people think that obama is any different. he's just another war mongering neocon. people are do damn dumbed down in this country. when people think that obama is different. good grief!

get smart. join ron paul's campaign for liberty. put your support for a statesman not these stupid bought and paid for politicians!

  • That's not what this vid was all about. Maybe you should watch it again.

    Thanks for your comment

  • Yep, that's the hard part, to convince other people not to turn on each other, Thanks Ellas

  • Well said! I think Obama (if he wins Nov) will positively surprise many and be great for a revamped USA globally.

The more informed, secular and democratically free a society, the more, peaceful, healthiest and humane, globally!

  • He's surprising me already. Every time he get slammed by McCain he back swinging back. He's doing the right thing

  • I think if you use the politics of fear to get the leadership you have to set up a political climate of "US against them" otherwise you can't draw the votes.

It has been like that since Bill Clinton came to power. I think he really scared them.

911 was exploited cynically by politicians endlessly and so was Catrina.

We don't need division to differentiate.

I other than issues of security the republicans have a lot to offer, big business is blooming and the middle classis drifting to lowerclass

  • Most of what you just said I agree with, but further then that I really believe it's we the citizens that are not united. It's fine to favor one candidate over the other but not when it starts getting personal. Big bussiness may be booming but we are losing. No good can come to that.

  • the 500 letter limit made me edit out and the last sentence got mixed.

I meant to say that big business are blooming on the backs of ordinary people. it can't be hat gas prices are sky rocketing and the gas companies are making stellar profits while the people are crushing under the costs.

  • I do not get to vote and though people would say 'of course not' I would agree - but any political issue on this world effects the world. It is very concerning that so many people cannot separate their own political issues aside from living with one another when the point of political issues is to help all to live together happily!! Agreed any long standing political debate/election does antagonise all.

  • It's so true, it's gone on for so long that we as citizens are turning on one another. That's just wrong

  • Very good point, not usually a big fan of politic but this vid is awesome( there's "BUT" for ya lol!)

  • Oh thank you. I truly appreciate that

  • Politic sucks! I hate the politicians! nice video

  • Thanks so much, I'm glad you watched this

  • I fully agree that there needs to be a 2 party system everywhere. Just like with every religion, every party is bound to have an opposition. If this opposition is suppressed, all kinds of negative results can occur.

  • Some people are saying we should have only one party. That's just nuts. Our founders new what they were doing, smart men.

Thank you so much for your comment

  • It's nice to see that there are people that have commonsense and that are a voice of reason. Awesome vid Joy!

It seems to me that politics in this country is nothing more than a spectator sport anymore. The lamestream media definitely divide us all and keeps us uninformed. Yet, not everyone falls into this camp, which gives me some hope..

The candidates should be talking about the many issues and challenges we face, but to me there's more rhetoric, nothing more.

  • Thank you. I love how you said the lamestream media. It's so true. If you watched the last debate, the first 45 minutes was spent on stupid stuff. The funny thing is the candidates really want to talk about the issues, not this character assasination.

I'm going to look at your channel now

  • I find it difficult to watch these debates since (at least to me), the candidates aren't really giving the public an idea on what kind of solutions they have to fix the ills of this country. It's more rhetorical than anything else. You can't fix problems with just rhetoric. Plus, I don't like how the lamestream media can squelch the voices of Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, and Mike Gravel. To begin with, these men spoke truth to power, which is needed! They had a message that makes people think...

  • Oh you've got that right. I watch in hopes of hearing a glimmer of the real. Of course you're right about Paul, Kucinich and gravel. I guess they were'nt pretty enough lol

  • OOpps,ALL THE COMMENTS from me was mistakenly done on my husbands accout, wabphd, that was all me. So keep that in ming when you read my comments. Also I want to subscribe to you but you don't have id of your own, Tell me how to subscribed to you

  • ...about what the current state of affairs we are in, both as a nation and the world. Yet the corporate media complex and other special interests, don't want perspective leaders like this to question their authority. They adroitly silenced them with nothing more than lies and innuendo. We the people must decide on who we want to vote for, not the corporate media complex! I'm not too happy with what we have for presidential candidates; such a farce. Although I was a registered Democrat, I...

  • And I find also that corporate insurance agencies are also running our gov't. To me that's a crime. I'm also a registered Dem and I do plan on voting. Years ago when Ma Bell became a monopoly the gov't stepped in and broke their backs by splitting them into smaller entities, I doubt very much that the gov't could do that today. They are ownwed nu the money now

  • ...switched parties to vote for Dr. Ron Paul. At least he consistently talks about why we are here as a people, the Constitution, our freedoms, the war, etc. None of the other candidates talk about things like this. They are so disconnected from what most Americans want-it's so disheartening. I'm very disappointed that the Democrats haven't done anything to counter the actions of the current administration. I feel that the Dems have left me, so I left them! Keep the truth flowing Joy! UR great!

  • Here's what I think. If our gov't can't break big bussiness in the for of sanktions then this country has had it. I'm not against big bussiness at all, but when you have companies who determine who lives and dies then to me that's inhuman. Even people who have great insurance are being denied life saving proceedures. Our gov't are terrified of these companies because they now own us.

It's really wonderful to talk to someone like you my friend

  • 'We are all Americans' - Yes! Any problems we have in this country have to be solved by all of us, regardless of party system! The vitriol that ensues from the division in this country between the right and the left is not solving anything. We are all in this together. Great video!

  • I wasn't sure I should put it up given the atmosphere out here but then if I didn't I wouldn't be true to myself.

    Hugs my friend

  • Ron Paul has talked aLOT about habeus corpus. He has also talked about the trend whereby republicans can no longer distinguish themselves from democrats. Both are a huge problem.

To me patriotism is understanding the form of government intended by the constitution and applying it, teaching it and making darn sure our politicians truly uphold their oath to defend [it].

The odd thing about this video, in my opinion, is not placing any of the responsibility on politicians. I call it blowback.

  • That was my point, I wasn't talking about the politicians. I was talking about us, you and me. When you get people calling you a racist then you have to know how divided we really are.

  • Tearing people down is a foul tactic to try and justify ones opinion. Whether political or personal it's an ugly way to communicate, and does nothing to progress an understanding on either side.

  • I just had to make this vid. Being called a racist was a first for me, I actually lol when I read it. Anyway good to see you on my vid

  • You're liberal and the person called you a racist? If that's not an oxymoron than I don't know what is. Normally liberals are extremely open minded people. It's silly that he or she called you that. Usually it's the conservatives who are the racists or at least bias, of course not all are, but most are. I agree the talks of politics is dying out lately, especially after Davis Fleetwood left or stop doing political videos after knowing Kucinich isn't winning. Great video and very good points.

  • hahahah Juci I loved the way you put that. I know when I read his comment I laughed out loud. He really got it reversed lol.

I love David and watched him all the time. I think he was offered a job or position writting or some such thing, He did mention something like that in he last vid,

    HUGS

  • Excellent video Joy. I think the US election season goes on so long and I think alot of the real issues that concern average ppl get lost in shuffle of political shoving matches. I remember the video you made about your daughter & it was a very good. My opinion maybe some of those ppl walked a mile in someone else's shoes they may not have had so many "buts". Here's hoping you all survive this until Jan. 2009! :)

  • It's so good to see you again. Did you knw that this is the first campaingn that has lasted this long? Maybe it was because of the hatred of Bush that they startesd to soon, but it's become tiresome and people are turning on one another

  • You're right. Ad hominem attacks are a pointless waste of time and energy. By the way, some of us are not Americans or patriotic or political, but we have lots of American friends. I'm very neutral when it comes to politics. I figure "whatever, as long as I can feed and clothe and shelter myself" and I'd hate to see friends of mine shooting at each other...

  • Hi my friend, yet that's the way I see it also. I swear to god some of our citizens are going insane

  • thanks for the reality check Joy, I hope people will listen. you are so right. United we stand...divided we fall.

I truly believe this the whole primary process is purposely dragged out by both parties and is an utter waste of time and money. Elections are held in one day...why can't all of the states hold their primaries on one day also?

  • Thanks my friend. Yanno up until this one, all primaries started in Jan and the election in Novenber. The whole process took one year.

This one started two years before, that's just crazy.

  • Great Video Joy!!!

    Five Stars!!

  • You do realise I was referring to you in this video right???

  • I am on a ton of meds right now! you are talking about the debate thing right?? You know I have nothing but respect and love 4 you!!

  • Yea I was, but what happened to you.

  • All kinds of BAD! I go 2 see the blood Doc today and a CT Scan Friday... Wish me luck!

  • All kinds of love

  • You are so right, Joy. That is why I reconsidered my thoughts on Obama. I didn't like all the negativity. I realized what the media was doing and I wanted to hear Obama's views on the subject. I also have friends who love Obama and they mean more to me than the candidates.

  • Oh it was fun being called a rascist lol. I'm glad you watched this. We are killing each other, the candidates will be just fine, but we won't be until our views are met with some respect.

  • communism lol its as though hitler is still within the governments, omg did you see the story when our pm kevin rudd saluted bush?...our pm is only 50yrs of age and is not a person born into politics and is a person who has his own ways and the US and OZ are not on the same grounds as before when John Howard was in power,Kev&his wife are country born and raised and worked his way to where he is not bought into power via natsie bank accounts

  • Like I say time and time again, "A politician is someone who shakes your hand before an election and your confidence afterwards" Good commentary Joy! Thanks for sharing your views with us! Peace!~Ted

  • Thanks Ted and you're right about what you just said, but I was talking about us and what we are doing to each other. That's worse then what the candidates are doing.

    Thanks my friend

  • Thank you for your video response. Honestly, I feel both parties are one. We must rise up as Americans and take our country back to its Constitutional origins of law. Our leaders have trampled over the laws of our country and have acclimated us into giving away these constitutional rights.

  • You're absolutely right, but we can't kill each other in the process. If you look back at the last 7 years our rights have been stripped from us by Mr. Bush. I blame most of this on him. I want my bill of rights restored

  • While watching this video I was thinging about Andrew Jackson, Why because his presidency was the one that really cemented the two party system in america. It was this formation that ultimatly led to the Civil War some thirty years later. Now its not about REB & Dems, Its conservitive vs. liberials. Right Vs Left and really we are in the middle wondering WTF.

  • It's true Cliff. Healthy debate is very good for us but not when it becomes so personal.

That scares me more then any candidate we have. Being called a racist because I'm a liberal cemented this all for me. We are one nation not two.

    Thanks Cliff

  • Joy...I love you and Bill Im gonna post a video response to this, it deserves a response gimme a few hours to post it.

and remember, they want a long political season to further our apathy.

ps: I dislike all 3 candidates and politically passionate people are the MOST patriotic in my opinion, thyey educate themselves according to their beliefs. You are not a racist....my pot bellied pig is...he wont eat jew, lol.

    Great vid

    5/5

  • He won't eat Jew??? Hahahahahaha That's funny

  • Name calling and pigeon holing people based on personal resentments - yeah, that's not going to get us anywhere.

  • It's a wonderful thing being called a racist lol, I was truly honered.

  • This is why I avoid talking about politics. I just don't do it. I have relatives that are so radical in their beliefs...oh, a couple of times my aunt became so engraged that you would have thought she wanted to kill someone. I won't talk about it on YT.

And yes, this is very similar to what I was talking about in my video. Politics, religion and racism are hot topics that people are just downright cruel. There's no real debate, just bullies who force you to keep quiet OR ELSE!!!

  • I could talk about it...but I'm here to have a good time, not get into a war over the issues or the candidates.

It's a shame people didn't hear your message in the first video you made.

I see too much belittling, people calling each other names and battling over who's right and who's wrong. Get a grip people!

  • I'm hear to have fun also. The subject is fun for me and always has been. But this is why I've stayed away from the topic this time

  • Yanno I love politics, I find the whole process facinating, but I've never run accross this hatred before.

    Thanks Kim

  • so very true, the whole video! what ever happened to United We Stand? the dem candiates are definately down to nit-picking. one problem is for some reason, everyone HAS to be right. anyone that disagrees is automatically wrong. most people are like this, i hate to say. it's rare, and wonderful when i have debates on a subject with people that differ from me on the issue. great vid, we all need to come together or frankly, i think we're doomed. peace.

  • Thanks Steve, yep people forget the concept of We the People. That comes before Dems and Rep. But I do have to credit some terrific and awesome debates I've had on YT.

After I was called a racist lol, I have to laugh at that, I knew we were really divided.

  • I agree that its been going on WAY to long. I think the american people are burnt out. I just cant wait till Nov!. Great video Joy!!!!!

  • Burnt out, that's it exactly. This went on way to long. Thanks my friend

  • Even i notice that! People are losing their patience. Nobody changes a politic division, so inside a political discussion there's no possible end. What happens when the discussion takes too long is that the arguments became so much and very vague, there is a point when arguments are not the enough to keep the battle and people get too hurt each other with whatever they have their hands! This political season is huge and it's dividing people like that!

  • i don't know too much about politics but i think everybody in the world (at least the one's who care) got very close to this political battle in USA. I have a question, will everybody get together when he get a winner candidate or things will continue over and over? Because a lot of people are letting the anger grow too much and it may not get over even when the season is over!

  • Good question, I really believe that the Dems will come together as a party once the election is over. I say the Democrates because I believe they will win it. But we as citizens are becomming much more divided

  • Even Obama and Clinton camps are divided, but I can see why. Clinton appears to represent the establishment within the party and Obama appeals to the party outsiders (as I am), who appear to have become a majority. So we are a definite power to reckon with. The establishment will have to let its hair down if they want to capture this crowd. But I don't think it'll come to that - I really think Obama will win because too many of us feel like we're on the outside and we want in.

  • You're right about feeling like we are on the outside. But that's nothing new. This isn't the only election cycle that we've felt that way. But this is one of the most important elections to come along in a generation. I think people are so angry that this is the only way to blow off their frustrations.

  • It seems people are cemented into their beliefs. There's no way I'm gonna change my mind, and I doubt Republican detractors will change theirs. But remember who is looking at truth to guide them and who has fallen to the deceitful.

  • I love how you just said "commented" into their beliefs. There is nothing wrong woth healthy debate but when it comes down to what's happening now, that's not acceptable to me

  • "Cemented" is what I said. Like brick and mortar, it does NOT move. The belief goes nowhere, it just stagnates and gets stuck in cement. I hope I'm not that narrow minded. And I have bent over backwards to be nice even to opposition. Acts of kindness go a lot further than acts of aggression and meanness. And had that been the way of our foreign military policy, we wouldn't be bickering today. But I'm worried that hatred will manifest itself in worse ways.

  • Yep I see it the same way. My dad once told me that you get more with a little honey then you do vinigar

  • It's so true Felix, I'm more worried about us right now then the political process

  • The problem is civility and the inability of people to listen to one another and respond without making shopworn stock rebuttals and who can shout loudest. I know someone, the moment I brought up the possibility of a particular candidate, went on rant shouting me down to the point I saw no point in discussion. When called on it the statement was they are "passionate" about their beliefs. I viewed it as intolerance to even listen to another point of view and come to a compromise or give and take.

  • We've had no real discussion among the candidates on some very serious issues just as we are on the verge, at the minimum, of a difficult economic period, if not financial disaster.

So when a real crisis arises here on this soil, which is possible, I don't think it's an exaggeration to say we're on the verge of a "civil war", because debate and discussion seems impossible unless reasonable people are willing to put a stop to this madness.

It seems there's no room for moderate discussion

  • Very valid point. We must learn to at least respect each other. I mean, it needs to happen one of these days so we might as well start listening. But, I will tell you, I have heard some real hateful stuff and I did NOT respond 'cuz it was my wife's family and I didn't want to make waves - Or did I? Of course, I wanted to scream so badly it hurt when I exercised constraint. But I did not lose the respect of family.

  • Oh I'm not saying you should keep your mouth shut at all but in my case calling me a racist because I'm a democrate only shows how divided we are, that's bad.

  • I know, my Republican brother stuck a barbecue fork right up to my eyes and told me how safe we are because of our defense policy, while bashing my editorial stance against the war. I do feel the pain of separation but I no longer feel isolated because now 75 percent of the people pretty much think the same about the war. When I started protesting more than five years ago, fewer than 25 percent were against the war. And in my town at the time it was more like 5 percent.

  • Yep, I was against this war also. Yanno this reminds me of the Viet Nam War with all the protesting that was carried out on the streets, only this time it's being done on sites like You Tube. I liked the street better. We were heard as on voice in large crowds of people with like minds. Now we sit behind individual computers and protest alone.

I don't think it will get our points accross this way, that's sad to me

  • I watched the entire video and I agree with you, we must stop hating each other. What you said is happening now already happened to me in 2003 when I lost many conservative friends 'cuz they love war and I do NOT. But they constantly target me for my peace stance and make love and peace sound like crimes. Who are the real criminals? They are the ones depriving us of our rights and they are sitting in the White House and Congress and the Supreme Court. The system is rigged against the People.

  • I agree with you but more important then that is we are destroying ourselves by not listening or at least trying to understnad the others point of view. Then it breaks down into a pissing match. That certaninly will bring us down. We are doing it to ourselves

  • I don't know - there is such a thing as conflict resolution. But sometimes the conflict must erupt so that resolution may even be considered. For example, Lincoln's abolition of slavery resulted in Civil War - now that is an extreme example and is exactly what you're talking about. That's why it's so important to break the ice now, rather than wait until things get way too out of hand. Or maybe we're too late, who knows. Peace & Love, Bill

  • My husband holds a PHD in American History, this is nothing new. Maybe because of You Tube things seem worse then they are

  • Problem is that the Democratic Party was infiltrated by Republicans and the leadership was entertaining elitist rather than their constituents - the People. Some people prefer the polarization so they know who their "enemies" are. Just imagine, in the good ol' USA we are all our own domestic enemies. This is the Great Divide and I believe Obama will help, but only as far as empowering the people to get the corporate AHs out of their lives.

  • Can you imagine a man such as JFK running for president today? He would have fallen into all the catagories people are trying to point fingers out now. We would have lost the opportunity of having a great president.

This has become a circus and we are the ones who are lowering ourselves because of it

  • This is the best in education on politics that I have ever seen. Your truth walks a great line. Thank you so much for this.

  • Comming from you is a great compliment. Thanks Eddie

  • Yea, i would say you have given me some balance in my views. I couldn't support the ron paul rage Anymore because its just coming to a war.

So, hope for the best and just plain for the worst.

    Thanks for posting this, Joy.

We need Love to build peace here Again.

    Peace to you.

  • Thank you so much. Your word balance is the key. You're right about building peace again. The anger out there is scary. Much more then any candidate

  • Good Thoughts! Now if I could just stop myself from watching CNN! Sad i have become a additct!

  • I know me too. But if we just keep what I was trying to say I think we'll be OK. I really don't take CNN, MSNBC and the others as gospel. I make up my own mind.

  • I used to be interested in politics, but I finally realized that they are all worthless sacks of crap and that it didn't matter what candidate I supported. I truly believe it's all rigged anyway.

  • This is what I'm talking about. I'm also not so pleased at some of the things I've seen and heard, but last I looked this was still our country. Giving up to me is just too easy.

    Things will never be perfect.

  • Joy, I have lost some relatives due to this election. I was brought up to be polite. Well, after 8 yrs. of GW, I have lost that politeness. These relatives voted for him, not once but twice. They are feeling the sting now, but too hard headed to admit it. I've been called a Liberal and it was said in a tone like it was something dirty. I'm damn proud to consider myself a Liberal. I had the pleasure of being a Delegate at our County Convention on March 29th. I will no longer sit back.

  • Yes, we have become Very divided. I have heard many say that they will not vote if their candidate does not win the nomination. Now how stupid it that? I come from a long line of strong Women and voting was a top priority. My Father traveled all over the world and would come back and say God Bless America. We are Blessed to live in this Country. At the beginning of this Political Season I emailed all my friends and family asking them to keep their political views to themselves.

  • I would not be sending out anything political. Did they listen? No! That's when I blew up. Lost a few friends, but I don't have all that trash in my In Box. Yes, I'm hurt, but I'm also tired of being bashed. It is personal. I have tried to have REAL debates. But I get an "in your face" debate. I'm a Peacemaker. I have always tried to live the talk. Still trying. Some just aren't listening.

    Peace!

    ~Mimi

  • Mimi, I think what you write about is the thing that bothers me most. I'm basically conservative with a very open minded social point of view...I've been so disturbed the past decade by the extreme position "conservatism" has turned that I can no longer relate to it as a whole. On the other hand I see classic "liberals" also shouting down others as a reaction to no real purpose.

I feel as if both sides have just now retreated to the opinion the other side is just "stupid."

  • jrsnyderjr, I so respect your opinion. We are living in a time of hate. Hate that will bring this Country down if we cannot at least respect one another's views. I have never been one to shout. I had someone at a party not too long ago shout at me because they saw my bumper sticker on my car. It was promoting my candidate. That person was also a Democrat. I don't really know what the answer is. All I know is that the hate has to stop. We are all in this together. Divided we fall.

    Peace!

    ~Mimi

  • That's exactly what I'm trying to say here. Yes we have very important issues that must and will be addressed. But the hate level scares me even more

  • May I just pop in here? What you just said is what bothers me the most. The political process is what it is. It's always been this way. However we as citizens are becomming bitter over the smallest issues. To me this is bad

  • Joy are you addressing this to me? I believe that the issues I am bitter about are not small at all.

  • That's what I meant when I said this campaign was way to long. Look if my candidate doesn't win I will support the other one. Acting like a school yard bully only brings our integrity down

  • I said this very thing to my fellow Democrats at our County Convention. If my candidate doesn't win, I'm still in it for the Win. Everyone clapped and I made my nieces proud. We are Proud Americans! Let Us Show The World How Things Should Run!

  • Good for you. We all have the ability to recognise that his is a two party system. That's as it should be. It's people who argue to the point of a heart attack that made me nuts. We are all Americans and I'm proud to be one. But I'm not proud of some people who stoop so low, thus the reason for this video

  • I agree with you Joy. I don't feel I can be myself and speak my mind in videos anymore because of how heated it all becomes. I have no problem with someone disagreeing, but it often doesn't end there. I gave up on the healthcare issue, which I feel is one of the most important issues we face, due to the hostility I received on a video that I made on the topic. I had people sending me pm's with threats! Threats! What happen to discussion? It's all very discouraging. Great video! :)

  • Maryann one of the things I respect the most about you is that we come from opposite ends of the country with very different points of view, yet we've managed to discuss issues rising above the differences and heard each other.

I was horrified at the comments you received on some of your videos and I admit to that squashing my doing some video responses to you, because I didn't want to deal with the ignorant commenting I would in turn receive.

One topic comes to mind I'm sure for both of us.

  • I know JR, it's really quite sad, when you know ahead of time what to expect and you know it's probably not going to be pleasant, well what is the point!

I remember when we had a disagreement on the issue of "illegal immigration" because you were civil, I learned something from you, and it modified my opinion. How will we learn as a society with such a prevalent attitude as" I'm right and you suck" LOL Jeez!

  • I know maiyana, but as hard as it is I will feel worse not pointing this out. We are giving up and handing it over to the bullies. It's been this way for every run for the presidency, but sites like You Tube and other sites bring it out in the open.

  • Yanno people who do that know that you won that issue. As far as helsth care I won't stop talking about it. Don't give up on healthcare, maybe we can do a collab vid one day
