@wusundowma The moves are all well over 100 years old. So many new ideas and techniques have been brought to the table since 1902, so much so that exposing these few secrets should barely hinder the modern card worker. Also, exposure for a lot of these techniques is irrelevant. You should be controlling your angles and misdirecting so that the audience cannot see the moves happening.
@chaosblood2111 Dude...if you didn't notice he's showing how some of the moves are done. That switch was meant to be seen. You didn't catch the switch, he showed you the switch.
It's worth considering that E. S. Andrews died young, shortly after his book was published, having apparently just killed his girl friend. Also, as Hugard notes in EXPERT CARD TECHNIQUE (far superior), his bottom deal seems to deliberately be misleading, as few people deal as described. And to pass itself off as a "magic" book, it has really crappy card tricks at the end. That said, go buy it.
@Eddini Advice about modern must haves?> !" I want modern well illustrated instructions for doing the impossible. I was surprised that Hugard wrote almost such a book two generations after Erdnase - inn '47 But while I love VErnon, Theo A., Scarne, etc., PATTER - the most important part of magic maybe, is boring in modern books and oldies assume every man has a hat or feature corny jokes from the time people used telegrams.. What is the College Series? Thanks!
@cobrahawk3 what do you mean with unlucky angle? If you mean that he "revealed it" then it was actually meant to be that way! This is great video editing and if i remember correctly Michael also won the contest so gratz :)
Yo Sternmagic, forget all the moronic comments. Excellent video: great sleight execution, aesthetically pleasing and AMAZING music choice. Can you tell us about the camera/lighting used? And also, where do I find similar funky music?! Loved it mate.
@SalsaShoeProductions I wouldn't be surprised if you could go to any book store like barns and noble and find at least one copy. Amazon will have several versions I'm sure.
@MegaTorontoRaptors I think there are videos explaining every aspect of the whole book that you could buy online which would be more expensive of the book but it would be worth it
@solittleusernames For the record, the copyright on this book is long out-dated and it's actually available free (legally) online. Although you are correct in saying that the value of the contents is actually priceless.
The book was written 109 years ago, the set of DVDs on the book came out a couple of years ago. Magicians prefer to keep their source confidential. Do some googleing if you're seriously interested. They're around $125 per set.
@chaosblood2111 Are you stupid? He showed that on purpose along with a few of the other moves in the book. You really thought you caught him doing that L0l
Hey everyone! My other account that this video is under got disconnected from my email somehow. This is my new account. Thanks everyone for the praise and even more importantly the criticism. Most think that "hate" comments aggravate, however, I truly appreciate and consider all that you guys say.
Very nice except you used a strike second which was not the Erdnase method. Not that it matters most historians think that the strike second was around at the time of Erdnase and that he knew about it but put a more difficult version in the book for whatever reason, probably ego. Nice skills.
hey guys...do u know where can i find this book?(the expert at the card table)where can i buy it?..is there in stores?or i have to order it from internet?
@JKstudio007 I would rather think that he used the exposed view because he didn't want to show any technical flaws in his real performances and by doing so, he masks his handicap in experience. This in itself is very creative and I think it deserves some respect. The same could be said for his choice in simple moves. This guy certainly had the guts to compete with card masters all around the globe using only those and I am sure D&D also saw that. I also admire the cleanliness of his editing.
the video was fantastic, and your performance was also very good. this is my favorite video of the Erdnase contest. bravo. btw, don't listen to these guys. they're just upset because they lost, or are too stupid to understand the video's objective. again, very well done.
i dont think it is fair that the people that mastered these moves didnt win. You just won because of filming. Well in that case go and get Steven Spielberg to do some card magic contests and he will win every one
Video was very nicely put together. Performed smooth... really nice... but some of the camera angles gave away some things... thats where I agree with UnknownMagician93. But regardless, I enjoyed this video immensely. Favorited ;)
@DEFThands08 I think that was the whole idea. He's showing, just like the book, how the move is pulled off and how it looks from the card dealers side if he was to be the confederate.
I don't think It was how well you could do the moves, although It was probably an important factor. I think it was more about the actual camera angles, and the way the film was shot.
although i do agree with unknownmagician that you havent masted whats in the book i disagree to that fact that you should not have won!! your moves may not have been as good as some but your shooting was amazing!!! all the angles were chosen well and the camera was amazing as well!! you did a great video if its being watch as a video not for all the skill!! but u did still show some skill at cheating just not as much as the other people
ok i have 2 questions that i dont get. 1. these contest entries, what are they for is it for a DVD that dan n dave are making for the expert at the card table book ? 2. what is the difference between the regular expert at the card table book you can get at most places and the new facsimile edition, which was supposed to be limited edition or something, is there a difference ?

DanJCunningham 3 months ago
@MegaTorontoRaptors it isn't too hard I'll explain in detail.
1.) you go online or to a bookstore
2.) look for "The Expert on the Card Table"
3.) Buy it (i'm sure this will be the hardest part for you)
4.) Read it and learn from it and practice all of it
5.) Realize that for the price of the book it is actually worth a 100 times more for what you learn.
These sleights are everywhere and once you understand them you can understand most magic tricks.
