whats the name and brand of your rims there very nice ,would like to try and get them in australia, or import them fron usa ,please let me know, zzzaggg
i have this exact same set of rims on my truck but they are 33 12.50 17s they are a deep set wheel and i cant get into all the hard spots, i mean the rim looks great cleaned up but i cant get into all the tight spots to make it look good by hand what kind of stuff are you useing
it's bare aluminum you don't have to worry about ruining a protective coating but, why would you dress the tire first wouldn't you want to do that after your done cleaning and polishing ???
I don't believe that wheel will ever see rock rash and the poor mud tire will never see dirt. Take the wheel off so the grinder won't kick back from the lugs. I bet you would be more comfortable too.
you can buy polish weels at truck stops and the ruge bars .compound polish i buy all my stuff at THE CROME SHOP IN WILDWOOD FLA this shop has all the crome stuff you can think of. what im useing in the video is a grinder with a weel made for polishing aluminum by bronces. weel must turn at 5000 rpms to 6000 rpms
You can get decent stuff from most truck dealerships and truck stops (I mean truck as in semi, big rig, 18 wheeler). We go ape shit over shiny surfaces. Travel Centres of America sells the green and white compounds for about $7 right now in the US.
nice job brother.I polish transports but I want to get into pick - ups and car rims,do you know how to get the clear coat off, the rim first, and how to get pits out?
remove clear coat with aircraft striper spray it on the clear will com off.the pits can be sanded with 400grit with a da sander.after the 400 go to 320 so on till you can't see it then you are
im useing a buffing ring with a benchgrinder. run betwean 4500 6000 rpm im all so useing a red ruge bar compound. the kickback can hurt you so bewere of it watch the video you can see the buffer kickback when the pad is dry

I think a dremel tool works better - quick, easy, one hand, one pass - done.

Looks like a meticulous and gentle and safe process instead of a cheap and easy way for a quick buck.
