@brummie You need to highlight the slected section, make sure the audio is STOPPED, not paused, before you press delete or cut. Hope I helped

I have a zoom H2 as my input mike configured to 44.1 16 bit ready to go.

I lay down a guitar track great.

then I put on ear phones so no feed back and I record bass track as I listen through phones but can here my bass so I am in synk.

Problem

with play back of both guitar and bass track is a delay

I assume is electronics processing

What now?

@MedzMusicUk How to make your voice recording more clear:

* Use a half-decent mic if you aren't already - doesn't have to be recording-industry-standard, but too cheap = nasty.

* If you're getting (ex)plosive "P" and "B" sounds, try putting a pop-shield in front of the mic.

* If you get a lot of sibilance, I think Audacity has a "de-esser", or you can experiment with reducing high-treble using EQ.

* If your voice sounds muffled, muddy or boomy, try using EQ to reduce lower-mid or boost treble.

* Compression can help bring out the details, like the little noises at the end of syllables etc. It also keeps your voice at a more constant volume. You'll need to experiment with compression settings, as it's not a one-size-fits-all. (Compression, like EQ, can be achieved by highlighting the recorded audio then going to the Effects menu.)

* Audacity has noise removal which I haven't really played with yet, but also you want your input signal to be as clean as possible

for some reason, when i use the "cut" button, it doesnt cut it out...it does absolutely nothing...i highlight exactly how you did it. and i press cut and the highlighting just goes away and the audio section stays there....anybody know what im doing wrong?

@114avataraang You gotta completely stop the audio track. I had the same problem, Just Press the square, Highlight the area, Then go to the "Edit" section on top, and then click "cut", Then it should disappear.

You can't cut with it on pause or play click the Stop button then cut it.

Make sure you're using the selection tool. There should be an button that looks like a capital letter I. Click that when you want to "select" a part to cut, paste onto, etc. Hopefully this still helps- 4 months later.

it can be used for recording. but for recording, i find it easier to record raw instrument and voice tracks onto Kristal audio (it's more user friendly) and then transfer the WAV files to audacity for final effects and editing/mixdown.

Yes it can but I do mostely as second accenteding I first use adour (wich also free) and then use audacity too make .mp3 files. and editing

@DABESTE103 yeah it can be used for recording. Do you see the record button? Its the red circle, so when you want to record, you just have to click that and you're recording. And when you want to stop recording, you just have to press the stop button and lets say halfway when you're recording you want to pause for a while, you just have to click the pause button and unclick it when u wanna continue ^^

also u can change tempo to change speed but not pitch
