Fosamax can cause the thigh bone to snap like a twig

Thanks for this report. I was on Zometa, recommended by my oncologist, for 2 yrs.  After a routine teeth cleaning, I woke up several wks later in horrible pain. It's been 13 wks & many Dr. appts. A bone biopsy diagnosed me w/ ONJ, osteonecrosis of the jaw. I'm 46 yrs old & have exposed bone fragments coming out of my jaw and the pain is unrelenting. So much for the rare but serious side effects of "jaw pain".

I have been trying to send this to you but it keeps saying error. I have been on fosamax for over 10 years. Had pain in my thigh for 3 years which I told my Doctor about every time I went in. After 3 years of terrible pain I walked out of a store on June10, 2009 and my femur gave out. I now have a rod in my left thigh.
