this is the first time a politician he´s telling the truth. we need the money we´ve been spending in iraq here, in america. as long as mccain and other leaders of my party don´t accept this truth, they won´t get my vote and I´ll do whatever I can to help Al Franken and the liberal presidential candidate get elected. enough is enough!
COUNTRY FIRST !!! and AMERICAN MONEY TO AMERICAN PEOPLE !!!
This is a great ad, even if someone who doesn't pay their taxes suddenly wants to invest in America. It is a great ad because it is the first time a liberal has acknowledged that something good has happened in Iraq.
So - you mean we are NOT murdering people over there??? We are actually HELPING them???? I wish you lefties would get your talking points straight!!
We spend more on excessive oil prices than we do in Iraq and there is NO REASON we should when we COULD have $2.00 gasoline if the DEMOCRATS would let us drill and refine the TRILLIONS of barrels of oil we have RIGHT HERE. Of course, they keep preventing that!!!! At least in Iraq we got rid of a mass murderer.
Um... government reports suggest that drilling for oil in currently protected lands would take seven years before there was any difference, and save people only 3 cents a gallon on gas, for a few years.
It's a global market for oil, with global prices, whether that oil comes from the US or abroad. The answer isn't to increase our oil addiction... it's to invest in other forms of energy so that we can be energy independent and not have to fight wars for oil!
Yes, and to top it off, the US government is only using 27% of our oil offshore now--the other 73% isn't even being used!!
There is *ABSOLUTELY* NO reason to be drilling for oil in Alaska or anywhere else. Let's start using that other 73% and save our citizens $ at the pumps, instead of ripping us off and making Bush even more rich than he is now, and become even more dependent on foreign oil!
I see you got your oil talking points down. Try looking up the facts on drilling here. Wouldn't make a difference in prices. It would take 10 years to just start drilling. McCain lied the other day saying it would provide immediate relief. Even when we do start pumping oil it wouldn't change prices a bit. If it is such a great idea and not a campaign tool, why when you neocons controlled all three branched didn't they start drilling? huh? You had the power at the time. Because everyone knows...
Aww, it's so cute when rightwing neocons get angry. What happened to Bush's promise not to nation build? Oh that's right, Repugnants are always lying - it's part of Karl Rove's playbook.
Hey, wait a second. We're building all these good things in Iraq? I thought Iraq was a quagmire. And how exactly does bringing the troops home help America's education, health care, jobs, and infrastructure? Do the troops work on those things?
Spending the money that would go into the Iraqi turd bowl on the projects Chimpy (and by extension Normie) ignored to play with their toys in the sand and enrich Halliburton, KBR, etc.
Republicans. . .clueless to the end! Why do you hate America so much?
Al, when you supported the war you supported the bombing and war that created this mess. This is a poor attempt to confuse the voters that you have any foreign policy sense.
So quicksilver2525, are you saying that you have proof that the report finding the administration lied to us and our representatives about the events leading up to the war is all a big bi-partisan conspiracy to save their own asses in upcoming elections?
That's a good ad. Very visual, especially with education, health care, and all that.

Liberals want to be your Mommy.
Conservatives want to be your Daddy.
Libertarians want to treat you like an adult.

But using such simplistic and concrete methods completely negates your argument.
If you want to treat people like adults, use an adult argument.

Thanks Al for pointing those out! I am glad to see that someone "gets it".
Maybe you should run for president someday too--hell, I wish you were running for Oregon State Senate--you'd sure get my vote!

The talking points ARE straight. BushCo is also resposible for over a hundred thousand dead civilians.
The schools their infrastructures their building? They're over priced lies. Some of the 'schools' are slated as built, but their not.
It's all lies. Get YOUR facts straight.
It's all price gouging, and the murder of brown people over oil.

cost of troops in iraq = a lot of money
cost of single-payer/universal healthcare, rebuilding infrastructure, funding schools, etc = a lot of money
i suppose you could argue it's a false choice, but given the choice...
djespee 3 years ago 3
Cost of Iraq war: blood and oil
Cost of health care, infrastructure, the joke at Walter Reed for our injured vets, protection for our children in schools: who cares.
That is the mindset of the Bush administration and corporate media.

Of course, money spent on infrastructure here is labeled "earmarks" if it benefits Republicans to do so.
I find the MN dot building falling apart to be quite symbolic of the Pawlenty administration.
As long as the wealthiest Minnesotans get their tax cut, nothing else matters. They are more important than any bridge.
