I love Nissan, and I love the Nissan Leaf. I test drove on 1-7 and 1-8 in Houston, I didn't want to look to crazy so I didn't take my video cam LOL but my best friend and i took pictures and I did the little video thing. Check it out my pictures and video from Houston Event at winaleaf.blogspot.com
$2.75 to drive about 80 miles to 100. for a $26k electric car that performs like a $18k petrol car, not a bad deal if you ask me. Since its an electric motor I would imagine maintenance is a lot cheaper. Plus you'll be driving a car at the cutting edge of technology, cool.
@RichardDuryea That's how electrical cars are. Considering the amount of people wanting to test drive it, the car might do decently for an electric car.
@GizmoPad True, but what if you need to drive to Grandma's house that's two counties over and up a mountain. What then? If they expect everyone to be driving cars like these, they will have to solve problems like this.
@RichardDuryea Well how often do you drive 100 miles / 160km per day? If you drive more per day you are not a normal consumer then electric cars are not for you to start with. And 8 hours to recharge is perfectly fine as i can see it. You never need to recharge a totally empty car so it will never take 8 hours. I also guess you can quick charge it too.. and 8 hours with 220v that is around 14A. Usally you dont have higher amps in a household if you only have 1 phase.
@RichardDuryea You just come home and just plug it in.. And its full in the morning again, can it be better? :) I guess you are not driving 24/7.. All people have to sleep ;)
@RichardDuryea for many ppl thats gonna be more than enough for their daily trips to work and back, to the shops and or getting the kids to and from school.
I wish I had power available where I park my car cos this would work well for me..
@RichardDuryea So as using 3 hours to charge some battery for notebook PC from 0 to full, don't you think? Think of it as electrical appliance. It's already selling big, bud.
@MyriadesusTV Sure, a electric car in USA is not the best.. Yet.. But i guess US will improve.. Take sweden for example. Over half of our electric production comes from renewable sources.. Water, wind and sun..
id like to work her for 20 yrs

I want a car that runs on water but government wont let us make them cause then they wont make money.
100miles for 8 hrs of charging not that bad, but like you said the charging unit is like $2000 but idk still seems better than paying for gas

Cool but electric cars still pollute. Velomobiles are the way to go for true environmentalists like me.

@MyriadesusTV Yeah but in theory they could be the cleanest cars available now.
