EA has a lot of money so production value in FIFA is pretty good comparing to PES. They can afford official licenses, but you can't fault PES for that. FIFA is fun but for some reason the pace of PES is more realistic in my eyes and when you do make a goal in PES you get that emotional rush. especially when games are 2-1 and every goal is beautiful

pes is represents the game of football better than fifa 4real. with fifa you dont need to really construct ur gameplay to score, most goals look the same and is usually one on one with a very predictable pass, is very scripted and u cant do nothing about predictable stuff is really dull and gets boring after 4 games. With pes u really have to construct your play to get a one on one, if u play against good players or computer, u rarely get a one on one, u ave to be unpredictable wiv ur play

Pes looks proper realistic but all the players run the same no one looks better than anyone else and I is it just me but I can't even tell a goal has been scored sometimes, the commentary is boring and the gameplay isn't that great even when you score a acrobatic goal it just looks like the player has just jumped from one place to the other in a split second that's why I prefer FIFA over pes because if it's reality on the ball and the skill in general it has a unique purpose?

i have both games (fifa 12 on ps3 and pes 12 on pc). i preffer fifa for playing online and pes in single player mode (becouse it's easy to edit, and there are lot of patches and mods, and the game changes a lot with the mods). what bothers me in fifa is the menu (it's a little bit messed up) and in pes - the scenes where the staff talks to you (it's annoying to watch it after each game).

both games have good and bad things,and it's incredible to see how people insult eachother over some games..

and PES 12's penalties haven't improved at all.

Actually i think it's the opposite. PES has good graphics, textures and colours, but FIFA has more options regarding to the way you play... I liked PES but I find it a little unreal in some passages... I would say PES - especially because you said you like making your own stratagies, I find FIFAs one limited, and PES one is a lot more flexible.

Also PES is lot more attack minded I find, the AI seems to love going forward, whether that would please you or not. Though best way to find out is download a demo for both of them if not rent them out.
