this is really good. they didnt turn out to be exactly like this because I used milky water instead of baking soda. i couldn't be asked to give my pretzels this 'sheen' or whatever. still they turned out pretty good and they can pretty easily stop you being hungry. I recommend this to fat people.
Is it possible to make these without the parchment paper? I want to make them so bad, but don't have any parchment paper. Would it be alright to just grease a cookie sheet?
im sure it tastes good, but it looks NOTHING like the real pretzels in Germany, and I go there regularly. you need to use malt extract in the dough, dip in lye, and never glaze with butter. Also the shape is wrong. Just google it and find how a real pretzel looks.
fusionfallx I'm watching this video and my sister walks it and drops her sells on my bed and kicks her flip flops off and sayed I'm bored intertain me and I sayed oh come on can't you see I'm busy and she says no and I sayed ok then watch me do this and I'm playing fusion fall and take out fusion bubbles in 1 min and 26 sec. And I turn around and she stole my iphone and sayed you got nothing interesting on this thing and I say well it's better than yours(mines jailbroken hers isint
omg I just made these!!! They are soo freakin awesome!! I made mine bigger though! So Awesome!! Love love love this recipe!!! Thank you evah so much!!!!
Unfortunately, the amount of yeast is incorrect. This recipe works if you use half as much. Two teaspoons of yeast - at most - are all that's needed.
When I used the FOUR tspns of yeast (as instructed) the taste of yeast overwhelmed the pretzels.
I suggest using ONE tspn of yeast (always use the MINIMUM amount of yeast to get the job done) and allow the dough to rest in the fridge for a few hours. Then let it warm to room temp before continuing.
I really can't wait to try these out. I've been craving a nice soft pretzel ever since we got back from our hols in oct. Don't even know if I can buy them over here in the UK but I bet they wouldn't taste the same if I did anyway. Hopefully get some of these babies made next week, I really can't wait. There's nothing that screams holiday in Seaworld to me like a lovely big pretzel and watching the Shamu show XDD
Thanks for the video. If you want to make a smaller portion, say 1/4 of the recipe, do you divide the yeast/water solution by 1/4 or keep the yeast amount the same?
These are sooo good and super soft. I made a batch of the dough, cut into 16 pieces and made 8 Cinnamon sugar pretzels and 8 Pretzel wrapped hot dogs. OMG Will definitely make again.
My only complain is that the dough is a bit doughy like chewy inside, at least on the hot dog wrapped ones The cinnamon sugar ones are in the oven ATM. But honestly, it doesn't effect the flavor at all =) They are wonderful =)
Dear God! It was like heaven came down and put manna in my oven. I'm a guy that doesn't hardly ever cook, but your video was an awesome guide! Plus you're super cute so that makes it even better. Wow. This is my favorite food of all time now! I see why these pretzels are one of your favs. Thanks for your video.
i JUST made these... and they turned out to be AWESOME! like they are amazing!! i just think less baking soda in the water would be better, other then that awesome, im sitting and eating one right now! all that i need now is that cheesy sauce and ill be set for next time!
OMG thankyou soo much :) im from australia.. and in our malls or anywhere in australia, we dont get large soft pretzels.. and after cooking ur recipe.. ive finally had that experience :D Thankyou soo much .
