But the answer is that anime companies, not so much the production companies, but companies like funnymation are bastards.

I remember recieving a C&D notice for a series they were yet to licence.

Other industries don't care too much, music is quite protected, but tv shows not so much.

The reason for this?

TV shows air on TV, creating adrev, anime and music do not air on TV, so the only method of money making is to sel DVDs, imposible if they are all being streamed for free.

I love this anime!! You really can't beat Escaflowne on most levels. It even managed to combine a shoujo love triangle and shounen mecha and action with out turning it into a weird, mutated mess of an anime. The OP's excellent.

I don't blame them really, they probably shouldn't have put it on a kid's network in the first place though. Ignoring the fact that the show is pretty violent anyway, the plot/characters/romance in general really wouldn't appeal to kids in the first place.

On the other hand, it'd be nice if some other network would get the rights and show the series uncensored, as it's a *great* series.

Da muss ich zustimmen. Die Anime-Zeit von MTV war wirklich grandios.

"The Vision of Escaflowne" zählt für mich sowieso zu einer der besten Animes überhaupt, sie hat in so gut wie allen Bereichen etwas zu bieten (Action, Romantik, etc.)

Wobei die Anime-Saison bei VOX und VIVA auch nicht zu unterschätzen ist.

Mit Serien wie "Blue Submarine No 6" oder vor allem "Noir" hatten die auch Perlen zu bieten.

Und Hitomi will eigenltich in der ersten Folge gar keinen Rekord aufstellen sondern einfach nur einen Kuss von Amano. xD
