You deserve the sue, stop doing copyright infringement, just will be served to all you people who steal music, movies, and software with these file sharing programs.
Fuck! The RIAA just got me last nite. I have to pay $56. But I kno there not going too let me goo off that easy. Anyone kno what more can they do too me?????
Fuck these money grubbing dickbags! Are you kidding me? $100,000 per song. Get the fuck outta here. No song is that good. RIAA execs. can suck a fart right outta my ass!
my theory on the RIAA can't sue no more because someone was able to prove that suing was a fraud to gain money for the government and the isp gets a cut of that money so all this suing is just to get richer
@anival2sorto at the time he sued Napster or way after that? cuz if it's the first, he's a hypocrite...like Lily Allen...just goes to show that sharing, as Paulo Coelho said, IS human nature XD
listen mate...my advice...get yourself a decent card :):):) and hack into another wifi point :):):) use backtrack3 and hack their wep or wpa2....its very easy, i also have been into talks and meetings with 2 engineers from hp..no shit!!! these guys have are getting ready for this stupid law.this goverment already wastes loads of our tax money they will smile because they can make a little more to line their pockets.what ever they do we will get round this:):):). use another server:)
maybe consumers ARE destroying the industry. well good, because the industry is destroying music. some of most innovative music out there is stuff people are making and distributing themselves, or small bands not represented by big labels, not the crap that the industry is trying to get us to buy. you think music needs the industry to exist? nope. music persists despite the screwed up economic model that's meant only to help big companies make money.
if record labels had begun to cater more to consumer interest sooner and understood the changing face of consumerism, they would have begun to adapt long ago, perhaps changing the model, paying musicians more than ten cents of every dollar they make, charging consumers less per song, and not insisting on churning out shitty albums that are entirely filler except for one or two songs.
in terms of my comment above, point is that nobody in this video said that anything should be free. punishment does not befit the crime.
also, i'm sure you're familiar with the points system, and the fact that musicians barely get by on sales anyway, relying on touring. copyright law monetarily benefits corporations and media conglomerates far more than it does musicians- if you work in the industry you should know that.
in another video my friend points out that someone speeding on the highway, ENDANGERING PEOPLE'S LIVES,may get a $60 ticket. should zach have to come up with $3,000???
thanks to all of the idiots out there downloading there crappy compressed version's of songs it is destroying the music industry!!i really hope the new law does pass..I happen to work in the music industry(not in a band anymore)but i saved my money, went to school and have alot of interest in this industry and what!!i should work for free!!!!!!plain and simple idiots it costs money to make somthing..like i said before all of you go work for free..if you are a doctor, lawyer, salesman or whatever!!
hey to all of you!!would you like to work for free!probobly not..if you were an author would you like it if someone"shared"your book all over the internet..the same goes towards music.most real musicians out there spent years of of shit to get to where they are now!(what i mean by real are the one's that can actually write and or play an insturment)i really laugh when some"artist" that has made alot of money says that"music should be free"and we don't need record companies..
@anival2sorto Universities have the ability to expose their students to this type of network surveillance, or the ability to fend off this type of surveillance and in effect protect their students from this type of exaggerated persecution that indulges the US entertainment / IP lawyers. FYI recently in Germany the court resolved a file-sharing case. the perpetrator was charged $41. for file-sharing two songs. USA - just a nest for these predatory RIAA / MPAA lawyers. universities should protect
I mean, that's an extreme example, I'm not comparing the hideousness of the aforementioned law with this one, but I'd say that when we're talking about numbers that the RIAA can charge an individual music downloader as some sort of compensation for what that downloader is "costing" them, the word "arbitrary" isn't such an outlandish choice, esp considering the industry influence in the crafting of such laws.
Depending on your point of view, these numbers could be seen as fair, arbitrary, inadequate or otherwise; but the fact is, it's subjective, whether it's put into law or not. Remember that law that stated a black man was worth 3/5 of a white man?
He is 100% wrong - Congress determined copyright infringment is minimum $750 up to $150,000 per infringement - the RIAA did not "arbitrarily" come up with this amount, it was put into law, Title 17 U.S.C. Section 503, long before limewire or any such thing existed.
Absolutely right, JCekola-- but guess what... just because something was "put into law" doesn't mean it's not arbitrary. Who do you think makes these laws? How do you think the numbers are decided upon? These laws were made with a very heavy influence by the RIAA's legal squad.
I live in Guatemala and here we can download everything without any problems. Sorry about your situation and I hope you get a break from these morons for trying to get advantage of young people like you.

I think people who steal music thru P2P networks SHOULD get the book thrown at them. Musicians and artists spend a lot of their time and money producing their music. They deserve not to be ripped off from people. Just my opinion.
screw the RIAA man. they just want to scare you ,theyre so stupid they think they can increase profits by screwing their customer base ,talk about stupid. i presonally think that more people go out of the way to download now as a protest to RIAA.WHY dont they just sue the whole planet , stupid people.
Metallica has turned out to be the biggest pussy sellouts, I would never listen or buy their shitty music.
