  • Eddie Vedder's got one hell of a voice. =]

  • Comment removed

  • lo encuentro algo fome

    jajajaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa;D

  • no the orginal is from the beatles !!!!!!!

  • holy fuck now I'm really wounded.......chill out you're getting obsessed...your getting so mean I think you might actually like me....we do agree on one thing though Patti Smith kicks ass.......'nuff now

  • Hey does anyone know if Eddie's using a G harmonica on this?

  • Eddie Vedder rose out of Andy Woods ashes, were it not for Chris Cornell, Jeff Ament & Stone Gossard recording Temple of the Dog in tribute to Andy, Vedder would be a nobody. He whines about his so tragic childhood, yeah right get over it, it wasn't that bad...and as a typical aging rock star he divorces Beth Liebling and marries a fucking model 13 years his junior...yeah vedder you should get on your fucking knees when you're singing Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns....Andy's song

  • @Ishbell1 It sounds a bit neurotic to have such strong opinions about some celebrity's personal life, of which MOST you really don't know anything about. Further, speculating that someone would be a "nobody" if it weren't for some recording is speculative at best. With Vedder's voice, I am sure he would have achieved success via some other effort. Vedder is a great musician, by most accounts he's a very nice person, and he's also only human. Further, his personal life really doesn't concern me.

  • @Ishbell1 Further, I remember Temple of the Dog well, but I also know that I would have loved Eddie Vedder regardless of how I was first exposed to him, and I can't fathom you dismissing all of the great music of Pearl Jam as if Eddie's talent and golden pipes didn't play some role in that. Pearl Jam took him a lot further than Temple of the Dog. That was just his start, it does not define him. He's good enough to do solo albums (Into the Wild was AWESOME). It's music, screw your negativiity.

  • @Ishbell1 You're so stupid on so many levels. People DIVORCE! Not just "aging rockstars". My brother divorced his wife, it was her fault, and he married someone prettier and younger and they've been happily married for ten years now. It's none of your business. You don't know what goes on in someone else's relationship. And what a dumbass for calling him "aging". We're all aging dumbass, and a lot of older rockers put out better music than the newer ones. Patti Smith still kicks ass!

  • @Ishbell1 I can't understand why someone wouldn't just listen to music and enjoy it. If you don't like the guy, why would you even bother to one of his videos just to gossip about them? I go to videos of people that I like and that I want to hear their music or see the video. It's nice to find other fans there too and read some of their thoughts. This is music not politics so you just sound like a troll and your remarkably infantile thinking just really bugged me today.

  • its a good rendition, hats off to eddie veder

  • I don't like Eddie Veddar's voice, but that's not taking anything away from him. He must be doing something right for Pearl Jam to be one of the worlds most popular bands for the past 20 years.

  • @macunfraidh i dont agree with you on the voice but you are totally right. hes such a good song writer and a very talented musician his unique voice has taken pearl jam very far

  • @macunfraidh and even if you dont like his voice i think you should look up longing to belong by eddie

  • He looks like THE "DUDE"....

  • @biglalways Haha, he does. :D

  • Jesus!!! can we all not see the artist in this guy? ,,,,I mean ...He knwos what he's doing....otherwise ,he would not do it. (hats off Eddie).

  • It is so amazing!!! A young man actually plays and does such a grand rendition to (the greatest band in the world),,,to me!!!

  • fu u all...this is justice....eat it

  • Errrrrrrrrrrr ahh errrrrrr sing it Eddie sing it , errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr you got hide your leer away,,,, errrrrrr.

  • Nice cover!=]

  • from deep purple over jimi hendrix to michael jackson,wu tang clan and so on...everybody covered their songs...theres gotta be something :D they knew what they where doing. 110% good quality music

  • In case you aren't hip to this particular development- yes, Eddie Vedder is releasing his second solo album composed entirely of songs accompanied by the ukulele, and as though that wasn't dumb enough, guess what the title is?

"Ukulele Songs." What a dumb ass.

  • @lisatina69 Get a clue... The man is not tied down to just one variety of MUSIC

  • His voice and inflections work beautifully with this!

  • a great song and done a great service by this geezer singing (whoever he is)

  • Bloody good cover. LIke the Beatles, Like Pearl Jam... bonus.

  • i didn't even know it was possible to talk shitty about legends, i.e. THE BEATLES, eLvIs, bob dylan. that's it, i've got nothin' else to say

  • Nice job Eddie me old mate youve got the gig.

  • This guy sounds like a hick.

  • uh...what's up with the i am sam thing at the end?? XD

  • @eddienerd The "I Am Sam" soundtrack was all modern artists covering Beatles songs. I think this was the first single released from it.

  • @kitkows2 that's pretty cool :p

  • SUPERBE!

  • whether you like the beatles or not, you cannot argue there talent. people 300 years from now will see the beatles the same way we see mozart or beetoven today. Their music will always influence new music in someway, shape, or form

  • i like the fact that eddie is so active in politics, takes balls to publicly speak out for what you believe in.

  • I sing this song ! Come to my channel !

  • It's the only time they sound decent, when they cover another band. In other words they can't write.

  • It's true that I am not a fan of Eddie but he does the best covers.

  • Bueno mi comment !! para mi eddie es el mejor exponente de su genero y cada vez q oigo su musica viajo wow eddie its great!!!! yo pienso el mejor de ahora es el y el cd into the wild q ni se diga hasta el fondo con ella!!

  • @Carthsgtr The dudes got vocals, you're an idiot. Now feed your insecurities with the attention I give you.

  • @Carthsgtr We all spit on you and that goes for Lunatic4Bizcas to. Go U.S.A!!!, I am Canadian.

  • @Carthsgtr Eddie Vedder is a legendary musician. You are random Youtube-user. See the difference? Now become a legendary singer/songwriter like he is and then call me back.

  • Hey watch what you say, Lunatic4Bizcas. There are a lot of us in Hickville, USA, that love this music, and it means a lot to us. So ya'll up there in Societyville, USA, watch out. Us hicks gonna kick yo ass!!!

  • awsome version of a great classic

  • Nice version. Check out Gov't Mule's version from 12-28-08. Warren Haynes does a great job.

  • seems to be only one mp3-rip out there in the i-net. This version has the same flaws than the one i downloaded 8 years ago

  • Who is this HOMELESS BUM?? It should be Justin Bieber singing the songs of that boy band Beatles that COPIED biebers hairstyle and humor!!!!!!

  • @NSA666999 How could the Beatles have copied pop boy Beiber>Beiber will be homeless by next year!

  • @NSA666999 I have shat out more sense than your comment

  • i love Eddie and i never met the man

  • IT IS SO VERY DARING FOR SOMEONE TO RE-DO A BEATLES SONG, It's okay but I applaud him for such great taste in music!

  • With the help of a couple beers, I can get Eddie's voice down at the karaoke bar. :)

  • I meant to write 'Pearl Jam' fans.

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas You meant to say Pearl Jam 'fans'. You shit the bed on that one eh? LOL

  • No offense to all you Pearl Jam songs, but I honestly feel that Eddie Vedder is almost single handedly responsible for ruining American modern Rock. If him nor his band had ever gotten a big record deal or media favor, musical travesties such as Creed and Nickelback would have never been possible.

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas Interesting comment dude, but cmon... Eddie is in a class of his own. One of the great vocalists of this generation without a doubt. He is like the Bob Dylan of our time. He is single handedly? responsible for his own shit, thats it. Creed is/was a great band too man, not a big fan but you can't deny they know how to release some quality songs. they got a great guitar player that u know nothing about, and buddy can wail on the vocals as well. Nickelback is B grade shit, they suck

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas

On the other hand, without PJ we might not have got silverchair or The Strokes. Rather than blame the Sex Pistols (for instance) for the horrendous new romantic movement, I'd rather appreciate their influence on the Buzzcocks, Guns N Roses, Green Day, Nirvana or Joy Division. If some of the followers are no good, blame them, not the trail blazers, or maybe just blame Elvis. Without his initial influence & imitators, there'd probably be no bad music at all would there?

  • @ossiesixtysix : Anyway, I am not fond of Pearl Jam whatsoever. I never really liked Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder's hermit sounding backwoods voice. Also, I don't think the New Romantic movement was that bad at all. Not the best, but not bad. In fact, there are some who would even categorize 'Joy Division' as a New Romantic/ New Wave band. Although, most people would agree with me, I was also never drawn to Soundgarden, and I find Cornell's voice to be quite annoying. No wonder he does R & B now!

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas

Ok, so you don't actually like Pearl Jam but decide to open a song by Eddie Vedder and start an argument. That's pretty pathetic don't you think?

  • @ossiesixtysix : I admit that I am and have always been, partial to 'British' sounding vocalists. I prefer The Clash any day to 'Green Day,' Iron Maiden over 'Guns n Roses' (although GnR is not a bad band), The Church (Australia) over Nirvana, and The Jam (legendary U.K band) over Pearl Jam! As a matter of fact, I wouldn't doubt if The Jam was probably much more influential to 'The Strokes' sound than 'Pearl Jam!'

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas

Pearl Jam is the best. Nobody can rise above Eddie Vedder.

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas Who cares????

  • I'm not saying the Beatles were bad... just not my style. Shelf sitters.

  • @northie66 How many Beatle songs have you actually listened to? They have sooooo many great songs in a wide variety of styles.

  • I'm sorry, but you don't put the Beatles on the same level as Styx & the Eagles...

  • you owned the song Eddie!

    <3 you!

  • anybody who thinks the Beatles are dated doesnt understand their full impact on culture and music. Stupid parents fought with kids over hair length-who were they to tell anyone anything was wrong when they were Nixon supporters. Old poeple in general agreed with anything the stupid outdated law said. Pat Boone was rock n roll? These guys wiped most of the slate clean of that generation.

  • with such a phenomenal voice he can sing even the worst songs...

  • thanks for this very nice video

  • I mean this in the best possible way - Eddie Vedder is the best cover ARTIST.

  • @49090GaD

No, this is Lennon's song, originaly recorded by the Beatles. Silkie covered it and not vice versa.

  • No John Lennon, but I love him too.

  • god

  • this song was written for him

  • I'm not a big Beatles fan either, but I like this cover.

  • errrr rebahebashbacheddavedda heeey

  • hello everyone,

I was just writing a song the other day about people in general, the way people conduct themselves in the society on a daily basis, then I started feeling a little unsettled about it for no certain reason and I left the song incomplete. So I was just wondering if someone would pm me a sentence starting with "Everyone...." and I will look at it.

You can check the song on my channel , or link watch?v=bGsqiVJyi4U

  • I agree. I think John Lennon would definitely approve. I would love to know Eddie personally. Who wouldn't? He is so intense. A thinker. Deep. Yeah, it would be an honor to know him.

  • i agree with time warp. i am a huge beatles and lennon fan and i love PJ so way 2 go eddie!

  • I'm one of the few people that don't like the Beatles. Love Eddie though. :)

  • @northie66 Second that...Beatles covers are usually much better than the originals.

  • @leftwingnazi Fuck off you knob

  • @leftwingnazi I think that's slightly mental. The Beatles were pioneers, bands that cover have the benefit of covering it in a style that their fans will like. This is a great version incidently but I can't think of many beatles covers better than the originals.

  • @CheRevolution76

the beatles also covered this song. the original is from a band called silkie. It´s from 1965

  • @49090GaD How can people be so stupid? lol

  • @49090GaD No!!!! a Lennon song definitely. Im a big John Lennon fan.

  • @49090GaD This is a Beatles song, covered by Silkie in 1966. The Beatles did it the year before, they also recorded with Silkie.

  • @49090GaD That's just not true, why would you say something that is just a big lie???

  • @northie66 Just listen to more Beatles songs, then you might understand. I didn't understand all the hype until about 10 years ago. Now, I understand that BY FAR this is this the best band ever and ever will be.

  • @greatmovieclips No thanks. I agree the Beatles are good... they just didn't stand the test of time for me. Kind of like Elton, The Eagles, Styx... all good stuff but it's just shelf music now. For me, some old stuff I still listen to is The Who, Zeppelin, Cars, Ozzy, Rush. I guess it's just a personal preference thing. But maybe not.

  • @northie66 Totally your opinion. I'm not saying what music is "better". But I work with young musicians and a lot are inspired by the Beatles. Their music is timeless. I haven't met many young people studying the Cars library of hits.

  • @peter1191975 : Oh sure, the Beatles were probably the most influential Rock band to ever emerge up until the early 90's; however, that has mostly changed. Since the early 2000's, it is widely recognized that 'The Smiths' are the most influential band for young musicians today. Ha! I always knew it was only a question of time.

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas Hey LUNATIC, you are taking your name too seriously when you dare compare "the smiths" (whoever they are) to the Beatles. Get back on your meds, Mr. Lunatic!!!!

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas since the early 2000's - mate The Smiths were an 80's - 90's band that disbanded well before 2000. Morrisey may have released some recent work but not the Smiths - and personally I like the Smiths a lot. My opinion from what i read in interviews from bands from the last 10 - 15 years is that The Cure would have to be one of the most influential bands of all time. The Beatles were definitely the most popular - nothing will come close to Beatlemania.

  • @cyrusplantkiller : Couldn't agree with you more friend. The Cure actually is the band that got me interested in Modern Rock music at the young age of twelve. As a matter of fact, I still am a pretty huge Cure fan and own most of their records. I've also seen them live in concert. Cheers mate.

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas Seriously, like them or not, they have talent. I enjoy all the bands mentioned here, but dissing Pearl Jam is ignorant.

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas Hahahaha!! Keep dreaming dude, nobody gives a shit about the Smiths and that queer Morrisey.

  • @sandro28grizz : Morrissey is a lot better songwriter and vocalist than Eddie Vedder with his hermit-like hick voice! I'm born and raised in the United States, but it goes without say that British Rock is much better than unoriginal and boring American Rock with a few exceptions like Mars Volta, Sonic Youth, Fleet Foxes, Modest Mouse etc. Go back to your backwoods shed grizzly boy and listen to your crappy musical artist known as Eddie Vedder who fronts as an indie artist. Ha! Ha!

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas the US media dictates the outcome of the rest of the worlds media, you can be the greatest band in the uk and no one else will rely give a shit, if you make it in the US though; your world renowned, like the Beatles or Michael Jackson. that being said, the smiths are a non factor because they weren't able to capture the rest of the worlds attention like pearl jam did in the 90's. And weather one was a greater song writer than the other is a matter of personal opinion.

  • @ghty102 : Ooops. I forgot to mention that Interpol are another great contemporary American band, but I would say that Pearl Jam definitely wasn't. They were popular, but what kind of crap are American mainstream radio listeners bombarded with anyway? In my book, I rank Pearl Jam right up there with Grand Funk Railroad, ZZ Top, Lynard Skynard and other such country rock artists that proceeded forth from Hickville U.S.A.

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas you're such a hater. just enjoy music

  • @Lunatic4Bizcas lol dude hickville? if pearl jam was from the south i'd concede, but they're from seattle... eddie from illinois. i can tell your taste in music is somewhat respectable due to your disliking for lynard skynard (no sarcasm intended... i think they suck), but give pearl jam credit where credit is due.

  • @northie66 BTW Ozzy has often said that The Beatles were a big influence on him.

  • @MsMesmer1 So, a lot of bands were influenced by Elvis too but I don't like his music either. I never said the Beatles suck... I just said I don't care for most of their music. There are many good bands out there that I don't care for.

  • @greatmovieclips dobro jutro!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @greatmovieclips fala a verdade.....essa versão ficou muito melhor que a original

  • @greatmovieclips EXACTLY me too! I've came to a simple conclusion...if you don't like the beatles you haven't heard enough of the beatles!!

  • @greatmovieclips

I hated the beatles. I hated that stupid twist and shout song. I started listening to covers of them by Oasis/Vedder/whoever else, and I liked those, and then found out they were covers, and that's how I became a fan haha.

  • @greatmovieclips I love the Beatles. But to say the best band is entirely subjective. There are many excellent musicians out there and there are and have been many extremely talented bands. The Beatles were innovators in their own right, and the fact their songs are still loved by many through the years shows their innovation.

  • @greatmovieclips Right after Pearl Jam ;-)

  • sooo geil !!!!

  • Q bueno q esta wachooo !!!

  • I was surprised when I saw one beatles album with this song in it, another moment where I go "THEY DID THIS SONG TO?? NOO WAAY 8D" hate that some songs of the beatles that r played on the radio r radios. Don't get me wrong, this is a good cover, just didnt realize it was from the beatles hearing this version so much lol

  • @ryuman757 What?

  • god drummerforreal1 your fuckin full of shit just stop talking it would serve us all good

  • @jimmyhat21o foreal.

  • very deep cover...

    I found it great.....

  • Nice version!

    Greetz from Holland

  • A song made for eterniy.

  • Drummerforreal1 is a troller, block him.

  • @drummerforreal1 ... Artists sing another artists song out of RESPECT for that artist, why can't "musick" fans understand that? Artists "Share", when they have a "deep respect" for someone, they do a song by that artist that means something to them, or had an impact on their life! Eddie did that perfectly, John would have been very Proud!!!

  • @witchiewoman357 We'll never know what John would have said. Maybe it would have been thanks for adding to my royalty bank!!! You want to impress me Eddie? Write a song that good....Quit sounding like an emoting water buffalo whilst singing while you're at it. Study a real baritone..like Jim Morrison.

  • @drummerforreal1 ...and u presumably are the king of vocal quality...? why can't people accept that bands cover other people out of respect...and eddie's voice is golden and there's no point in even arguing about that!...

  • @mobzah Golden voice? Sick water buffalo w/unnatural quiver vibrato and no range? hahahahahahahaha is all I can say to you.

  • @drummerforreal1 i think drummerforreal was born with an unfortunate hearing disability...it's sad in many ways u know...doesnt matter anyway...since vedder's the guy all here love and ur the sad little wailing guy so..peace man..may God gift u with a hearing aid in ur next lifetime...

  • @mobzah Maybe you 've got a yearning to pleasure your water buffalo singer?

  • @drummerforreal1 yeah jeff here will probably troll the dream theater forums later on, right jeff, i mean they suck as well dont they jeff, jeff here says he can play better than anyone on earth lol, yes you guessed it, he cant prove anything of course. His brother is Thom Jones the great american novelist, and his dad used to work in a top secret lab for NASA, because the moon landing is fake as well, this idiot is completely nuts, ignore him. Ex janitor , not even a musician.

  • @drummerforreal1 I don't think John was that kind of guy at all. You'd fit more in with the likes of modern music labels. Arrogant and greedy.

  • Love this version.

    Eddie Vedder is the best!

  • Eddie does a fantastic cover of a fantastic song, infact its one of the greatest Beatles covers ever

  • Big deal ..throw him 10 bucks for winning a karaoke contest ..Song is Lennon's ...only John does it justice , besides Silky

  • @MrLasider Why are all the Lennon fans coming out in droves to toss shit around? Take a bit of advice from the one you seem to worship, let it be.

  • The song and original performance is great, with Lennon doing his best impression of Dylan. And I can't see what one can hold against this cover, which is very true to the original and clearly performed by an artist that loves it. Very nice.

  • I might like it if it wasn't one of my favorite Beatles songs...

  • This is good

  • Darn I like the song and I think Eddie is pretty much just capable of doing covers but this song is much better by Lennon. Lennon wrote and sang it with Dylan in mind.

  • u mean dido

  • eddie i know your ego cant stand it but you need to let john sing his song. to sing his song shows your arrogance because u and pearl jam are not in the same universe as the Beatles

  • @goldsmithstudent -dildo

  • I love this song since I've been a young girl but never, never before was so beautiful!

  • ***ev***

    verdade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SaintWicked721 stfu don't tell people who like something that someone is the worst, obviously we don't agree. Who are you to decide anything anyways? Go listen to fucking hair metal... Because we all know W.A.S.P and Motley Crue had the best vocals ever right?

  • all i can say !!!

  • sounds like a song that the goo goo dolls would cover

  • vedders voice sounds like a mountain man

  • Eddie does great covers.

  • i love the voice of this guy... it makes me happy, and this song too.

  • eddie vedder is a dream man!

  • Lennon is the best!!! but Vedder pulled this off near perfect!!!! 90's are so good that even their covers is better than originals today!!!!

  • is this on any release of his? a soundtrack or something?

  • @h879xx its on the soundtrack of "I Am Sam"

  • if i was a rock star, i would go out onto a high street somewhere, spend a day busking, make a bunch of money then go give it to homeless people to spend on whatever they want

  • @corpsemunger i wouldnt give the money to the homeless people because they would end riight back up on the street once they spent it all on stupid shit.
