let me explain rifftrax, the reason they picked b movies of the shit was becuase, those were cheap or had no copyrights on them, therfor, the low budget MST3k could afford to use those movies, rifftrax, much simpler because they have no budget beyind what they do to keep it online and buy the movies to riff

You'll also see they've done riffs for Raiders of the Lost Ark, Casino Royale etc. I don't think Rifftrax has the same policy as MST3K. IMO they should stick to crappy B movies, funnier.

We need to ask ourselves this: just because it has a higher budget, -not a b-movie- does that make it a good movie? Or is it another Hollywood excuse for stunts, pyro and/or violence?

I'm not acting like I'm above this, I have "Raiders" and movies like that at home, but I know that it's just raw action - and not of a particular deep story. So I can laugh at what mike's doing now anyway.

Yeah, but you can take the piss out of highly intellectual movies also (Bergman for example). I just find it funnier to take the piss out of something which is badly acted etc. when the filmmakers are trying so hard to make it good.

Halloween has its fare share of cheesy stuff, just look at donald pleasance's dialogue.

Yeah, but in order for Rifftrax to work, you have to already own a copy of the movie, and (no offense to B-movie aficionadoes) how many people own a copy of Glitter or Troll 2? They sell more commentaries if the movie is popular. That said, Rifftrax still does a great job. The Matrix is hilarious and so is Spiderman, two fairly "good" movies. Besides, it's probably harder to write for films where the zippers aren't showing on the monster costumes or the robots aren't made out of cardboard.
