I have enjoyed the progress of the characters over the years when this started it was 90210 meets Melrose place. now its just Melrose meets X-Files, but as the series went on the plot line has been increasingly better.
I'm having issues hearing parts of this...who is the blonde girl at 0:26...the one with cookies? I know she's new, but I couldn't hear her name to hear if she is a "universe" character.
Don't forget, we have the new movie series hitting the big screen in 2010 and The CW are hoping to get a Smallville spin-off of the ground. So, it;s kind of cool in the way that, Smallville is now ending, at the same time, the new sage of Superman is beginning. Literally. This is how it should have happened, right from the start. And plus, they can't keep SM going much longer, it's too close to becoming the legend. Just relax and wait for events to take their course :)

Darkseid is the villain. Chloe picking up the helmet of Dr. Fate could transform her. I am hoping Lionel and Jonathon will return in cameos. I am stoked for Season 10 but if Darkseid is not alone then he will need the JSA and the JLA. And lookout for Checkmate to screw up the works.

SMALLVILLE single handedly rekindled my love for Superman. After all those CRISIS series, I gave up on DC. But Im having a geek-gasm waiting for season 10!!! OMG SO STOKED! I think theyre taking some bits from Return of Superman storyline... Notice the dreamlike quality to the parts with Johnathan??? I think Clark will be seeing his dad while hes dead and Johnathan is gonna send him back to life... Along with Eradicator helping IF we're lucky... I

I think the guy at 0:54 is Dessad. He just has the look the character would have, old withered, and creepy as hell. I've also been hearin that the kid could possibly be a young clone of Lex or somehow even be Orion, probably the first one.
@Kalelok: A first for Smallville? Yes. But it's basically written in stone that in the modern mythology Lois is always the one who names Superman. It was just a matter of time. They've been teasing us with that moment since Stiletto in Season 8 when Clark told Lois she could come up with a better name than the Red Blue Blur. ;)

@Kalelok: A first for Smallville? Yes. But it's basically written in stone that in the modern mythology Lois is always the one who names Superman. It was just a matter of time. They've been teasing us with that moment since Stiletto in Season 8 when Clark told Lois she could come up with a better name than the Red Blue Blur. ;)

@Kalelok: Oh, and as for the dislikes ... yeah ... I'm not sure how anyone can dislike this. Then again, there are haters everywhere. :( They're probably people who haven't watched Smallville since season 1, or more likely people who have never seen a single episode LOL.

@SuperGEM9 i know; in other words people who don't know the show; so excited about this season! we've got a long wait over here though. in england we r only 11 episodes into season 9 (which was good until the absolute justice ep in my opinion purely because of the naff costumes) apparently the last shot of smallville ever (weep) will be of clark wearing the superman suit!

@SuperGEM9..am 17 yrs old and I've been watching smallville since season 9! Unfortunately I was too young to appreciate the earlier seasons, I was more fascinated w/ animated shows of the DC universe. But now, I've been renting the seasons on netflix and buying the DVD's. I cant explain how OBSESSED Iam w/ the show! Iam so sad that this show is ending....Iam hoping w/ the next Superman ree-boot movie that Tom Welling gets the lead role, he deserves it!

ok,i love th fact they have used the superman returns suit,tom wudnt luk good in the old version tbh,sum questions though,why is lois in africa? or wateva,and why is hawkman ther :S i like the lex clones idea,but i hope they dnt use this as an excuse to use a different actor for lex in case rosenbaum doesnt decide to show.apparently..we see a different costume in the 2nd epi to the black 1 :) shud b good.and tbh i think hes just jumping at the end,they fooled us last time with tht,but i can hope

Guys, don't argue, be excited for Smallville :) It looks amazing, but it made me want to cry because it's nearly all over & that glimpse of the Smallville High Alumni bit kinda hammered that home! I really hope if anything we see Clark & Chloe kinda make peace in this season, because they've become so distanced lately. I've been watching the season 6 boxset and they're so much closer there.. makes you see when everyone fell in love with Alison in the first place :) & WOOHOO For the beaut Erica!

@SuperGEM9 Well then their next show should be called Gotham City. Becasue many people in including myself have wanted to see the darker version of Batman on TV since the movie Batman 1989. Just like Smallville Batman could team up with the rest of the Bat family at times.

@purewitz Yes there were bats. Before that we saw a humanoid smoke cloud though. That cloud turned into the bats you saw.
