  • Professor Butler your totally correct. I was just sitting in a jury selection process and I was thinking about this proposition. Our prisons are ridiculously overcrowded with non-violent non-harmful so called criminals who only get radicalized as a result of our justice system. It doesn't work.

  • @Qotsage420 So if your house got robbed and nobody got hurt (non violent crime) you would be cool with the thief being acquitted if he's black and the jury is black? Come on now.

  • @balistik94 Professor Butler does not advocate the application of jury nullification to robbery. If you listen closely or read his article, he refers to non-violent, victim-less crimes. Robbery is not a victim-less crime. Therefore, your hypothetical question is irrelevant in his application of jury nullification.

  • what bollocks.

  • @smileyraw Yeah, liberty is bullshit. down with liberty! down with nullification!

  • That guy must have been a crappy lawyer.

  • Butler is correct. Jury nullification FTW!

  • "I trust the jurisdiction, more than I trust the congress, ma'm."

  • Very well put. The first comment on this show is the best I have heard in awhile

  • i disagree with what bill maher says about the oj case. the case shouldnt b about the lawyers. it should have been about the actual crime that was committed. this is how the justice system fails the poor since they dont have great lawyers when it shouldnt even be about the lawyers. the people in ojs case had hard evidence right in front of them.

  • "I believe it because I AM a lawyer"

    great response.

  • why is there always a stupid woman on all of these shows? why can't i turn on one show like this and see an intelligent woman?

  • @scampbell04

i'm a woman and i consider myself a feminist, but i can honestly say that intelligent women are harder to come by.

  • Dumbass Bill Maher needs to look up what "corpus delecti" means. Tell me, Bill, where is the "corpus delecti" (the body of the crime) in the crime of "selling crack"? In order for something to be a crime, there needs to be both 1) Harm and 2) Causation (intent to commit harm).

So, if I sell crack to my neighbor, and he buys it, smokes it, and lives happily ever after, where is the (1)Harm, and (2) Causation. There is none, if we are all free adults.

    But America isn't free.

  • Paul Butler is my new hero. He will go further than anyone with bringing America back to freedom, becase he is right.

He brings back the tradition of Lysander Spooner and the underground railroad: American justice, anarcho-justice, the free market.

    Google "Fully Informed Jury Association"

  • Fuck, Bill Maher is stupid. And he calls himself a libertarian. LOL! More like a brainless socialist collectivist.

No, fuckhead, Maher, selling crack IS a political crime. But you're too dumb to know that, since you don't know the difference between "mala in se" and "mala prohibita", and have never read Lysander Spooner or the Anti-Federalist Papers. Paul Butler is 100% correct.

The morons objecting to jury nullification haven't thought at all about it.

  • Is this why white people charged with various crimes are acquited by all white jurers?

  • Is this why OJ got off???
