  • Someone please explain why there's a general consensus that the lyrics should remain un-displayed? Because they're supposed to be vague?

  • MBV is best with the bass on max

  • @sonicfanatic4949 i love my bloody valentine but this made me lol

  • i've recently found a band from the san francisco area called Whirr. if you are a fan of my bloody valentine, i would suggest checking them out. and no, it isn't my band.

  • @itssallcalypso Nice try, anonymous band member from Whirr.

  • @fumblenuts64

no, i'm serious, haha. it's really not my band. just thought i'd share with everyone.

  • @itssallcalypso thanks, they're good. And I don't care if you are a band member or not...

  • I never knew the lyrics.

  • @RighthandAnne no one does, these are wrong

  • Skrillex should make a remix of this!!

  • @55jimmyboi good idea!

  • @55jimmyboi 1\10

  • @55jimmyboi

if he did, I would blow my brains out.

  • @55jimmyboi yeah right.

  • @55jimmyboi What the fuck is Skrillex ?

  • @55jimmyboi you would leave a comment like this on a fucking shoegaze song.

  • @55jimmyboi Or you could kill yourself :DD

  • @55jimmyboi No thanks.

  • Do hipsters like this stuff?

  • @Oneupsalesman

bland question noone is going to answer, take control of your beligerant quest to make people feel bad already or noone sensible will ever truly love you.

  • @Oneupsalesman i am hipster

  • @Oneupsalesman yup. so does everyone else!

  • @Oneupsalesman I dunno, probably. Who cares?

  • My Bloody Valentine will always be sonically stimulating and satisfying and I will always love them. Thank you, MBV.

  • i sincerely hope that this situation never arises, however, if by some chance it did...

    bono catches and shields pitches

suck it down U2, go circle jerk to loveless

  • Wish I had a better sound system--the guitar work here is just wicked!

  • omgz thats amazing after all these years

  • sonic youth and smashing pumpkins had a baby

  • @freezknotable

MBV was formed in 1983, being a contemporary of Sonic Youth(formed in 1981) and preceded The Smashing Pumpkins. You have the paternal order confused.

  • One of the most amazing songs ever written, along with nearly all of MBV's music. Love this band and their beautiful music! <3

  • happy 20 years!

  • 20 years and this song make me feel so high like the first time, it's so weird, not music like this anymore, why? Thanx MBV this song is a whole universe!

  • 20 long long years without a record good as that...

  • This song could beat up many other songs. With it's fists.

  • god i love shoegaze

  • Kind of a one trick pony...but god damn...what a trick!

  • Even at 100%, my laptop speakers still aren't loud enough!!!

  • @mraaronhd My mom used to see them live and apparently they would play tiny venues and play extremely loud hah

  • The ecstacy..

  • awesomeeeeeeee

  • @FedorEight Green Day rocks. People can like My Bloody Valentine and Green Day. I know crazy, right. I also listen to Protest the Hero, and Between the Buried and Me. You are the close minded asshole.

  • It's been uploaded in Mono....sort it out.

  • @Jules5 All songs on loveless are mono. Kevin Shields wanted a very "guitars in the center" sound.

  • @ElectroFunkRevival Tell that to my "Stereo" copy of the album.

  • who the fuck disliked this song!?!?!?!?!?!

  • this is the best album of 1991, not that fucking overrated Nirvana crap

  • @gogolplex74 Exactly.

  • Reminds me of Electric Flag

  • this reminds me a lot of the pixies, with the loud to quiet dynamic.

  • I've never been adicted to an album as I am to Loveless. I've discovered it about 4 months ago, I just can't imagine my life without it now. It's like a sexual desire or something.

  • Best album ever written!!

  • THIS SONG

  • This song makes me think of baywatch.

  • Had not heard this in for EVER!!!! <3

  • Seriously now... This isn't music for peasants. No wonder they're obscure...

Imagine a Green Gay Day fan being exposed to this? It'd be like trying to teach a chimp to write a Shakespeare play... (I doubt even 10 gazillion Green Gay Day fans all on typewriters, for an eternity, would come up with a word longer than "yo".)

    Classic.

  • @FedorEight Oh wow. I really, really hate your attitude.

  • @FedorEight I'm a Green Day fan you judgemental prick.

  • @FedorEight I love Green Day and you're an ass.

  • Comment removed

  • @FedorEight You cocky cock. You think you're better or smarter for listening to MBV? I used to like like Green Day when I was 13, but I still like to hear some of their records 'cause they're actually good. And I also like My Bloody Valentine, Daft Punk, Sonic Youth, Radiohead, of Montreal, Cocteau Twins, Television, Misfits, The Smiths, Pavement, De La Soul and a thousand bands more.... Oh, and The Beatles are my favourite band! Just open your mind, dude. You may be missing great stuff.

  • Comment removed

  • @prisionnerofsociety are you me

  • Seriously now... This isn't music for peasants. No wonder they're obscure...

    Classic.

  • I'm stoned.

  • words can't describe how awesome this song is... ><

  • FOR THE SAKE OF MANKIND, DONT POST THE LYRICS!!!!!!!! REMOVE THE LYRICS

  • @sodr2

Man, I know what you mean, I was listening to this French song by Ange, Sur la Trace de fees, and I found out what it was really about. I was better off not knowing

  • @sodr2 why?

  • this song is amazing. By the way, it sounds REALLY cool backwards. Wollahs Ylno ftw.

  • shut the f up about silversun pickeups they are garbage compared to only shallow. that is one of the top 5 rock songs in the 90's probally number 1

  • silversun pickups... smashing pumpkins dum dum

  • black teddy your an idiot you said the rest of the album isnt as good as this song which i agree with but you said this album is more of a classic than nevermind which i absolutely disagree with. You need to make sense about what you say and not sound like a hipocrite

  • you downloaded this album illegally what total disrespect you have for this band then . I went out and bought the actually cd 4 months ago for 10 bucks.

  • @royalnash

Did you pay the band for it? At best they probably got a penny for it. A penny that probably has to go back to the record label anyway so they can pay back costs. Maybe see them live or just donate money directly to them if you want them to benefit.

  • Sounds A LOT like Smashing Pumpkins early stuff... I guess Billy Corgan listened to these guys too!

  • its fucked how consistantly this song can make my spine just fuckin tingle ya know,,its totally just fuckin,,sit there in yer room n think of how much of a loser you are an ball yer eyes out shit, what a powerfull powerfull band,,truly fuckin great,,thank you my bloddy valentine. im sure fuckin kleenex is fuckin down too those fagits.

  • better be saved

  • i perfer Coldplay, but they are not bad..

  • @vrem what the >< SHUT UP

  • MBV owns anything Silversun Pickups will ever write

  • One of the best. A real fucking band.

  • すたれないね~。

    たまに聞くとやっぱいい!

  • Just keep going back to Loveless over & over again, preferably stoned

  • Swirlies album 'Blondertongueaudiobaton' does the shoegaze sound a good turn, but from this era, the first Ride album, and the band Seam, their first album, Headsparks, really great, and Slowdive too, kind of a soundtrack for 'those days', not to be confused with 'These Days', one of the top best Joy Division tracks of all time, imo, no, not imo, I know, what I'm talking about, when it comes to JD tracks, that is. Unless someone else knows something I might not....

  • In my country, during the mid 90's, every other conceptual MTV spot would use a MBV song on the background..

  • They took shoegazing to a new level with this song. The rest of the album to be honest wasn't as great.

  • @BlackTeddies ur dumb

  • @OwrKeeng you have aids sponge monkey

  • @skoi87 seriously, my guitar teacher knew them a little

  • Ive been listening to alot of silversun pickups... but i could never find a band like them until i found this one....

  • @mrmama456 Silversun Pickups are actually influenced by My Bloody Valentine. This album was released in 1991, Silversun Pickups formed in 2002.

  • @bnugia2 i know... but silversun pickups didnt release any music until Pikul which was like in 2005 or somthin right?

  • @mrmama456 Yep, SSPU only began releasing music in 2005 with Pikul.

  • @bnugia2 not sure about the influenced by my bloody valentine but I'm sure they were mostly influenced by the smashing pumpkins.

  • @BlackTeddies That is completely false my friend. This album was famous before Smashing Pumpkins even hit scene.

  • @MrElationRx I'm talking about the pumpkins being an influence on the silversun pickups.

  • @bnugia2 I'd say they're more influenced by the smashing pumpkins. If you want a band influenced by my bloody valentine listen to the pains of being pure at heart.

  • @mrmama456 dude look for dreampop and shoegaze bands thats what this is.

    Slowdive

    The Boo Radleys

The original shoegaze band is probably The Cocteau Twins(they are great)

  • @CountingTheRaindrops I think Cocteau Twins is actually Ethereal wave, which is not as dissonant as Shoegaze, and on Heaven or Las Vegas they're Dream Pop.

  • Comment removed

  • @mrmama456 You should check out Slowdive.

  • @mrmama456

    LMAO

  • @mrmama456 mbv are the godfathers kit. =)

  • @mrmama456 hey, at least you found MBV...what a shame had you went through life not hearing this music!

  • @mrmama456 every single shoegaze band rapes silversun pickups. check out slowdive, ride, swervedriver, spiritualized and flying saucer attack.

  • @mrmama456 There's tons of shoegaze bands that came out a decade before Silversun Pickups.

And they're a lot lot better.

  • @FuckingStanz @gogolplex74 wow, are all MBV fans such snobs? D:

  • @StudioScarecrow UR LISTENIN TO THIS ON YOUTUBE? GET THE VINYL NOOOOBBBB

    sike.

  • I must admit at first I did not like this song. But I have come to be obsessed with it!

  • this whole album was recorded on heroin haha

  • Been listening to this album off and on for 20 years now. It never tires.

  • Drugs.............this is the sound of drugs entering the realm of emotion and genius , this band isnt huge or super popular but its easy for me say that kids my age will still be listening to this in the year 2487 and beyond

  • @darrenmyers1 agreed. anyone that hears this has to like it no matter what age. it just has a special quality about it. it will easily stand the test of time.

  • My girl sent this to me this morning. Dig it. Dig her.

  • @shatchett0 She sent you this!? Marry her.

  • @yellowknots If it had been "Swallow" i might have agreed with you...

  • @moyajc nevermind she deserves better.

  • i like the way kevin plays... his style is totally different from any other thing ive ever heard and it sounds like peaceful. i think he's very expressive.

  • I got your caps lock right here!

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, fucking amazing.

  • I see people commenting things like: "Mainstream nowadays sucks!" and "The '90s ruled!" and those statements are true, but not that relevant on this amazing song. Why? Because

    a. This has never been mainstream... Loveless didn't even hit the charts in the US...

    b. I think My Bloody Valentine were either far ahead of their time or far after their time. That last thing might sound strange but imagine My Bloody Valentine appearing on Woodstock. That would've been bloody (no pun intended) amazing!

  • :):):):)

  • Anyone know when the remasters are coming out? I can't find the album ANYWHERE, and I was told it had been withdrawn until the remasters are released :(

  • best album of the 90's

  • @trekdnb 2nd for me, I like OK Computer more but dont get me wrong I love this album to death!

  • Beautiful noise indeed! I love the guitar part. It's repetitive, not out of laziness, but because it's relentless.

  • fuck man, wish there were bands like this now.

  • Holy Shit....Amazing<3

  • Comment removed

  • always loved this...what noise should be...we tremble under the bedsheets and await the missives of forgiveness...thats what the song says to me anyway!!

  • one of music's most transcendental songs

it's just so goddamn pulverizing for a rock song

  • So i was listening to this song in class today.. My teacher says: That is annoying i don't wanna hear it. Turn it off! After that i just walked out of school and walked 3 miles home. I didn't wanna be around that moronic rap loving bitch.

  • the rest of the album is not nearly as good as this song

  • Comment removed

  • @royalnash I have too agree with you on that. I love this song, and one other... but the rest of the album falls flat.

  • this song is the shit when i saw this video on vh1 classic i had to hear the album but most of the songs on the album is not good as this

  • @royalnash UMMMM WRONG.

  • Joy. Joy. Joy Joy. Joy. Job. . Job. Job. Job. Job. Mob. Mob. Mob. Mob. Mob. Mov. Mov. Mov. Mov. Mov. Mov. Mbv. Mbv. Mbv. Mbv. Mbv. FUCKING JOYOUS!!!!

  • im guessing this is whats played in heaven.

  • Stupid kids, until you've actually bought this album(At a record store) and cranked it up on your stereo you don't know what the fuck you are talking about. This album is mind blowing and will live on forever and there never be another album like Loveless just like there will never be another Nevermind or Siamese Dream. EVER!!!!!!!

  • @tallicadude47

I agree about Siamese Dream...My god what an album......

  • @jmInDreams Yes to be honest I find it to be even more a classic the nirvana's nevermind.

    Pure sonic pleasure .

That album has a little bit of everything layered, shoegaze etc.

  • @BlackTeddies

Yea Siamese Dream had epic ballads, rocking gems, and love songs.....

Jimmy drumming, D'arcy on bass, James guitar, and the wizard Billy Corgan lyrics..............Dream was a masterwork....

  • @jmInDreams and you don't agree that nevermind is a great album? go home boy.

  • @tallicadude47

    derp!

  • @tallicadude47 Agreed on loveless, but not the others. One thing is sure though, There Will Be Blood. I'm drinking your milkshake as we speak.

  • The reason why I like My Bloody Valentine is that they're such a unique band that is completely different from others.

  • i came back to this page in a drunken haze and found that i have the highest rated comment for this video. i feel honored. thank you, everyone.

  • yall should check out my loveless review on my channel
