  • I cried after hearing this song. I lost my 36 yr old daughter to breast cancer in Sept. 2011. She was diagnosed 21/2 years prior. She found out she was pregnant in Feb. 2011 and chose life for her baby. Her cancer progressed, so they delivered her baby 10 weeks premature. She went home to be with Jesus 2 weeks after his birth. She was an inspiration to all that knew her and I Thank you Martina for sharing your story and being an encouragement to others.

  • @Abbygirl25 I do relay for life with my friends. It makes me feel so good, especially since I have many family members that have suffered from cancer. It's great to see all of the survivors happy and having a good time! Usually they have events in your town or neighboring towns. I think it would be a great way to raise for your aunts! Although, the money you raise doesn't go directly to them. But it's still fun, and all for a good cause!

  • My aunts friend was diagnosed with liver cancer. The cancer spread from somewhere else and they can't find where. She has a 50/50 chance. She has 5 and 3 years old sons who need their mother. When she announced she had cancer my heart just broke :( my family and i were there for her and now she's cancer free :) she dedicated this song to us and im so happy god let her stay <3 she has 4 children and 2 grandkids now

  • i hope everyone who has cancer is always okay i would give my life for one of them. i sware i wanna help but i dont know how help me please

  • Martina soared!!!!! Her performance was the best I've seen. Screw the excuses of the sound system, I didn't hear that at all with her.

  • now this song has a beautiful message i wish she won over taylor sorry but martina has meaningful songs

  • Lost my grandma two years ago to cancer and when i first heard this song I was crying my eyes out. I still shed a tear but not like that first time. The type of songs she can sing without crying to me is amazing. I love her and hope she keeps popping out the great songs.

  • I lost my husband to colon cancer 6/21/07 at the very young age of 50. I wish loving them through it all it took but not everyone gets cured. :-( The very first time heard this it felt like a stab to my heart, it sounded like I could have cured him if I just loved him more.

I love what they did with the lights throughout the audience. HOW she can sing this song without crying is a mystery to me!

  • My sister was just diagnosed with Cervical Cancer 2 days ago. This song is amazing! It totally describes how I feel towards her! We lost our brother back in 1999 to cancer and our father in 2009 to cancer ... wish I knew about this song during their battles.

  • @neclg2004 STFU Taylor is in her early twenties. Martina is in her forties. Are you really comparing the two?

  • Martina > Taylor

  • When life hit me hard, my best friend/cousin/sister loved me through it. It's my turn to do the same for her. Thank you for my life, sweetie. <3

  • I love this song. being a survivor myself, my husband and I where arguing very intensive 2 months ago, when this song came on the radio, we went from yelling at each other to holding on to each other cause it reminded us of what we both went through during my battle and the love that we hold in our heart for each other very powerful and inspiring song

  • This song is so beautiful.. I lost my dad 6 years ago to cancer and we got the devastating news today that my mother-n-law is starting her battle with it.

  • Life may be hard @ times but we make it thru & i will still love/like you no matter what

  • @amyjeanne269 Seek guidance in God, only he will see you through it...I want to help if you let me...I can get you; info, numbers, Doctors and friendship...lean on family and what appears to be new found friends...there isn't one of us that wouldn't help, all you have to do is reach out and we are there...you can't do it without your friends, family and faith...reach out to tatsully, she is on her way to recovery...it seems like she may be willing to help...

  • the best ! I love all her music. she talks my heart every time. Thank u! Hope and love u give me Thanks! & don;t stop.

  • Simply Amazing! I can certainly relate to this...My mother passed away at the young age of 47, I was 16, and my sisters were 22 & 28. She was dignosed with bladder cancer..breast...lung....brain over a matter of 10years...of course i never knew much about cancer..all I knew momma was always healthy looking & so beautiful. Our beautiful family was devistated...we lost part of us....will never be the same..Thank God for dad & my two wonderful sisters. Family will love u through it.

  • I completed my clinical's at Cancer Treatment Centers of America. I couldn't leave, so I joined Cancer Fighters and shortly after that they asked me to be an Ambassador for the hospital. I am so proud. I meet and greet new and returning Patient's for treatment and am fulfilling a dream to "Pay it Forward". How great is that. Cancer doesn't discriminate,it can hit even the healthiest of people. It's how you and your family deal with it, and where you go for treatment. Try CTCA, they're the best.

  • A friend shared this song with me today and i cried when I heard it. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and so far has gone through two surgeries but I know God has everything under control. I had my mom hear this song and we both cried. I loved the lyrics and I felt as if it were God speaking through the song. Thanks Martina for sharing your beautiful song. You have a great talent.

  • Good lord who keeps cutting those unions in here? *soab

  • I just wanted to make a shout out to my aunt who has been battling cancer for 7 years and I'm proud to say she's still here today surviving through the breast cancer that spread to her brain, the chemo, the affects of the surgeries, medications, and chemo. She is my hero and I've loved her through every moment of the last 7 years and will continue to do such.

  • Thank you, daughter. I cherish you. I know that I will be okay..eventually.. but from experience I know I will have those "days" but knowing you will be praying for me and there for me will be more than I need. Just keep loving me through it. I am more worried about the tumors in my brain right now, not the ones in my lung or lymph nodes so keep praying for me.

  • God be with you amyjeanne269! God is not gonna let you go, He's gonna get you through, I pray the strength of Philippians 4:13 and 2 Corinthians 12:5-6 over you! I'll be praying

  • God Bless you amyjeanne269 hold tight to your faith God will love you through it.

  • This song is simply amazing. On Nov. 17th, I found out I have cervical cancer, which they believe has spread to other organs. I have 2 surgeries coming up, and I'm scared. But I will FIGHT with all I have. And I KNOW that God has a plan for me. God Bless all of you with his Incredible Love and keep smilin'~!! . ~ Smilez, Amy in Pa. :):)

  • @amyjeanne269 you fight it with all your worth even when you want to give up I am a 3 month surviver and this past year was the toughest I've ever had to face, but i made it.

  • @amyjeanne269 This song gave me chills. I remember that phone call all to well. I to had cervical cancer had to have surgery, and chemo . I am proud to say I am a 6 month survivor. FIGHT is what you have to do! Scared is what you will be. God will get you through all of this , Keep the faith ,it helped me get through it all. Your in my prayers for a quick recovery!!

  • @tatsully You are a true Ambassador, keep sharing your story, you give strength to others...continued success in your recovery...you are a hero and inspiration to others less fortunate, but with God's grace and prayer, others might find your strength and start their own recovery...Walk with God and when you can no longer continue on, he will carry you...I'm sure of it...

  • @amyjeanne269 im sorry god bless you hope u will be okay

  • @amyjeanne269 im sorry god bless you hope you wil be okay

  • Martina is the last of the great singers...enjoy her while you can...there's nothing on the horizon that comes close.

  • chills

  • this gives me the chills, i can't even explain how inspiring and beautiful this song is, and this performance gets me every time. so beautiful

  • one thing i love about her is that she sounds the same on her cd as she does live...its good music.

  • OK song- just a very "old fashioned" performance- the whole style, clothing, just seemed like 20 years too old!

  • @shortylauralyn78 agreed

  • Seriously, how do you not cry to this video? I consider myself a pretty tough guy, I'll take on any guy who wants to fight. But this video brings me to my knees.

It's remarkable how the voice of a woman can bring down a man. God knew what he was doing during Creation

  • she always has amazzing syle :)

  • wow this song ..its just amazing <3

  • Martina is definitely on of my top five favorite female singers. Don't see what the hype about Taylor is for. Reba.... now there's a classy lady. Miranda is gorgeous and has a great voice but for meaningful songs..... MARTINA is definitely the queen over them all :)

  • Love it!

  • Martina is the only person me and my mum both listen to.

  • To my friends mommy who passed away from cancer rip miss luiz

  • This song came out the day my grandma passed away from cancer and it's such a great song and it is a tear jerker especially if u know someone with cancer

  • Oh my gosh, she is amazing! Completely underrated in today's industry. Shame...

  • her hair....... <3

  • I think she sounds better live than in a soundtrack! Love her, Shes my inspiration, as I am fighting cancer myself.

  • @MissKaylaKay322 she is also my inspiration. :) I'm praying for all of you strong fighters of cancer. Through this song, I learned how many lives are affected by cancer. God bless you! Be strong!

  • This is the one the performances of the night that rightfully deserved the standing ovation! GO Martina and to the true vocalists of country!

  • OH MY GOD! THAT WAS SIMPLY AMAZING!!! People with talent just amaze me!

  • Martina is MY Female Vocalist of the Year EVERY year! No one else with the strength and power this woman has! Not to mention her character, very rare to find someone with so much love and honest care for those that hear her songs. She may not produce "radio hits" (whatever they are these days) BUT she knows who she is and what songs people NEED to hear. Thank you Martina!

  • THAT. WAS. AMAZING. She is just as good live as she is in her music video.

  • I think female vocalist of the year should have gone to martina, carrie, or sara evans. miranda is great, but these 3 are much better VOCALISTS.

Speaking od CMAs, entertainer of the year? Taylor Swift? Seriously???

    Great performance btw!

  • Mkay. Im just gonna say it. Why is she wearing a suit? I really like her outfit but she has the body to wear a dress. Like look at Reba.... If I was skinny enough for a dress, you can bet your boots I would wear one. (Or does she have breast cancer?) <3 Martina Mcbride.

  • One person doesn't want to be loved through it.

  • ironic Trisha Yearwood's mother just died of breast cancer, right when this song was released.

  • Its about breast cancer

  • Country singers are amazing live because they dontt try to make their voice different. They just bolt out. <3

  • the best performance of the night for sure, what a incredible talent!!!

  • Best song Ever!!!!!! So many ppl have cancer Including my Cuzin & my best friend And ill love them through it juss like i did with My step mom my papaw my granny etc....... So has the best meaning :)

  • 1 person didnt get near enough oxygen at birth...

  • She sounds awesome live and she sounds the same on radio ....I love her

  • How could anyone dislike this shes AWESOME and great performance!!

  • Shes amazing. I Love her so much. <33

  • This song made me cry!!! Love this!

  • I like Miranda Lambert but she cannot hold a candle to Miss Martina!!

  • This is a reminder of who the REAL FVOTY is!! Country music has been taken over by pretty blonde girls who cannot sing!

  • The other thing about her is that her songs always stand for something....and as a person she stands for what she sings......you don't always get that in the artists you like.

  • Martina should always win Female Vocalist...not even Faith can best her in a vocal for vocal match!

  • Such a beautiful and powerful perfomance.. Martina is just magical .

  • she is so amazing. honestly looks really good for her age.

  • I love this song and it is a great dedication .

  • In my opinion, there is no woman singer in all of music today, or for the last 15 years that comes close to Martina McBride.

  • I think she has some of the strongest vocals in female country singers.... I have and always will be a fan!

  • That voice gets me. Every. Single. Time. Martina is a treasure.

  • Great singer and great lyrics and the right person to sing it. I agree should have gotten female vocalist of the year.

  • I love this song because it has such an inspirational message. I admire all the people out there who are battling breast cancer for their bravery, strength, and determination to fight this cancer. Thank you Martina for showing all of us how it feels to have cancer through your lyrics because before I heard this song, I never really understood what a person goes through emotionally when they have cancer.

  • I think Martina deserved the Female Vocalist Award. She has done so much this year especially with her support for breast cancer. Her new album is amazing as well. :)

  • I love Miranda and Carrie and Taylor and Sara, but when it comes to vocals, Miss Martina McBride deserves to win, every year <3

  • @amyrose918 very true; country has some great singers, but Martina McBride is in a class by herself.

  • @amyrose918 Sorry. I like Martina's vocals, but Carrie should be the one that wins that category without question? CMAs just don't want Carrie to win it because she surprised them by winning the award unexpectedly when she first came out after winning American Idol. They didn't Carrie had such powerful vocals.

  • I thought Miranda was a bit scretchy at times I don't know if she was put off by someone tossing a beach ball near by. But Martina is much better in my mind.

  • this is a beautiful and powerful song. god bless all those that are battling cancer, and all those that have lost their fight with cancer. you are in my prayers

  • Dont get me wrong - I love Miranda and Taylor (I have all their albums) but Martina.... My gosh. She deseved to win FVOTY and she should have been nominated for EOTY. Her voice gives me chills, no matter which song by her I'm listening to. She has vocal capabilities way beyond any other country singer. (So does Carrie, I would have been happy for her too)

  • @bayleylovestosing I think Carrie should win Female Vocalist of the Year every year with ease. I have nothing against Martina or Miranda, but Carrie prove that when she sang "How Great Thou Art" on that special "Women of Country", where even Martina agree has the best vocalist.

  • absloutely beautiful...

  • Martina used to sing here in town with a band called Lotus back in the 80's. They did the usual covers of the popular songs at the time. They were and still are a very good band. When she started singing country in the 90's, she did a show here at our annual River Festival. She was signing autographs after the show. I told her then, as if it really mattered or had anything to do with it, that she was going to be a big star someday. She replied, "I hope you're right". I guess I was.

  • What a beautiful performance. Such an amazing vocalist.

  • i've seen her live once and she sang amazingly even with a cold and sore throat at an outdoor concert in cool weather; she even sang somewhere over the rainbow and never missed any high notes the whole show or brought anything down to lower octaves; she's a class act all the way!

  • Her consistency and quality is just absolutely amazing

  • Amazing!

  • Ya know, I'm not a big fan of this song, but Martina really knocks it out of the park. And she's looking awesome.

  • She's so good that if I minimize the screen I forget that it's a video and think I'm listening to it on itunes. This song is so powerful, and there's no one in the music industry today with a better suiting voice for it.

  • this made me want to cry

  • LOVE Martina!!!!!

  • wow

  • My mom's friend just found out she has cancer in the mouth and has to get surgery at the end of the month. Praying for her :(

  • This reminds me of my mom who passed away when i was 11 she meant the world to me but now i know she is i a better place with god. Watching this performance by Martina last night made me cry its something we can all relate to.

  • Reminds me of my sister Tina whom passed away Dec 2010 of cancer...God I miss her...

  • @tammywunderlich Im so sorry you lost you sister. I pray you can find peace in God and Joy some how. i could not imagine what you are feeling. :( I know i dont know you from Adam But i am gonna be praying for you. :)

  • what does it mean when she sings "now it's forced smiles and baggy shirts" i've never understood this part.

this song is amazing, very inspirational. martina and carrie is the two best singers i've ever heard!!!! so powerful. way to go martina. :)

  • @stephanielynnewoolf She had breast cancer and they had to take a breast. She has to wear baggy shirts and force a smile to cover up what they tool

  • @Diltsify oh thank you. i didn't understand, i got the whole cancer thing but i didn't know it was about breast cancer. :(

  • Her live performances always blow me away!! Her vocals are always so close to perfect :D

  • I was told about this song by several people this morning... I'm sitting her with tears running down my face! I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 10/13 and I'm scheduled for surgery next week! I've got a little girl and a family to take care of! I so relate to this song... Thank you Martina... beautiful!!!

  • @jackie287 Praying for you! I'm a four year survivor, and this song was quite inspirational for all of us when it was played at our Komen Race last month. May your surgery be successful!

  • Martina is so beautiful in everyway. This song made me cry.......she should of won!!!

  • This was by far my favorite performance of the night! This song brought me to tears and it still does..it is so touching! I can't stop listening to this song! To everyone who is fighting cancer or survived from it, God Bless you and praying for you! Martina McBride is amazing!! <3

  • Was she about to cry at 1:50 - 1:57?;o

I love how powerful her voice is, and how emotional she makes me feel.

  • Comment removed

  • loved martina since i was in primary school. her voice is just jasjdhdkdmcisnx

  • Loved this so much! It brought me and my mom to tears!

  • i wanted her to win last night but happy for miranda lambert.martina is a winner in my eyes

  • The best performance of the night. Martina should have won Female Vocalist Of The Year!

  • @Jetstarz00 Ditto! Her vocals are pure, exceptional and powerful! I'm not sure if Miranda Lambert has those capabilities! She doesn't know how to place her voice properly sorry...

  • @Jetstarz00 The Announcer apparently thought she should've won it too. He started to say that it was her, but switched midway trough her name and started talking about Miranda, (I think that's partially why Miranda said seriously when she got to the microphone). That said, I loved this performance and I love Martina and I wanted her to win Female Vocalist too.

  • @Jetstarz00 I think Carrie should won Female Vocalist Of The Year. This great song by Martina and great performance and emotional song.
