While they don't have a whole lot of scenes together, it's pretty obvious that they care about each other as the game goes on. ^^ Sephiroth feels close enough to Zack to open up to him in chapter 4, and in chapter 7 they express happiness over reuniting. I've heard that Square Enix has officially said that Zack is indeed, one of Seph's few friends, and though I don't know where the statement is, I do know that Crisis Core certainly seems to back it up. ^^ And it's a popular fan concept.

I don't know if I would say 'friends', but there is a definite comraderie b/c SOLDIER is such an elite group. I would say Sephiroth is more Zack's mentor - he takes over where Angeal left off, looking after Zack when he needs it and continuing to teach him b/c Zack's still a young SOLDIER and only just made 1st Class. Whereas Sephiroth is already a seasoned veteran (though he's still only in his 20's) and a hero. I'd joke that Zack is Sephy's "puppy" now. ;)

His Age is written in the Ultimania. Also explained in an interview that he's younger but around the same age as Angeal and Genesis.

When first playing the game for ps, it reveals that Sephiroth was within his mid twenties when he went to Nibelheim. Hehe and I'm ahppy that I'm around his age hahahaha!

Sephiroth is 30 years old in FFVII...so I suppose he's around 24 or 25 when he goes to Nibelheim. ^^

Was these experiments after or before Sepherioth? Because I know Hojo experiment on him while still in Lucrecia and he was considered a "successes". So were Gensis and Angel the failed experiment children? O.o
