  • pure......awesome.......tune.

  • Smokey sings the songs that define love.

  • CONGRATULATIONS TO THE Mighty MIRACLES....2012 ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES... FINALLY !!! IT'S ABOUT TIME !!!!

  • Remember sitting on a tank in Cuba, crying my lonely ass off listening to this one being broadcast on the radio from NYC. I think it was atmospheric, but it picked it up all the time (WABC 77-am) I believe. Smokey & the Miracles always came through.........

  • i love this music.....when i was a youngster in my life time VERY SWEET......

  • TRUELY 1 OF THE BEST SOULDIE GROUPS

  • smokey rulezz oldiez101

  • people please pay very close attention to the lyrics of this song. The wide, deceiving road that many are traveling on today iscan lead to miser, hearache, pain, (if) we don't really examine ourselves first and see what what really want out of a relationship. Remember, that person is not yours like some toy you can throw away when you are finished playing with it. A REAL love grows together through the good, bad, happy, sad, haves, have nots. Get in one another heads before you get in the bed.

  • One of many of his songs that I am crazy in love with

  • this song is really good

  • Comment removed

  • THE MIRACLES' background vocals on this song are so sweet and melancholy Bobby,Pete Ronnie, and ...especially Claudette's beautiful voice . Add Marv Tarplin's outstanding lead guitar, and Smokey's lead, and the result is just wonderful. It is ALL of the factors, I believe that will always set THE MIRACLES above and apart from all other groups. It's the ENTIRE GROUP (NOT just Smokey) that made The MIRACLES special.

  • This was, and still is, great music in a great time!

  • Smokey crooner emeritus (sing brotherman)!

  • This is a true Love Story, that never stops telling the story of Life.

SMOKEY the REAL Poet of Love Songs

  • Awesome music !! Let's all go back in that time machine to the 70s when music was special ~~~

  • This song is deep to the point of being haunting. What an incredible production. Smokey is way cool. Man !!

  • I Love you oldies ...and i love how everyone is keeping the scene alive ..oldies for ever...

  • loove ittttt oldies

  • OMG...tears were streaming out of my eyez the first time I heard this. I also like 'Daylight and 'Darkness' and 'What's Too Much?' by Smoky Robinson, but I haven't found the latter on you tube yet. Someone please post it.

  • this is the fuckin jam

  • One of the best slow jams ever.

  • i love smokey(no homo)

  • This has ALWAYS been a jam in East Los Angeles........ The Live version is even better it was on youtube but cant find it now......

  • @f4i06 You're right, the live version is even better.

  • It was a hit back in the day. They played it on the radios and a every party all over. It was another nice song to slow dance to.

  • this song and baby backatcha are my favorites by smokey ,,this is a beautiful song especially when you really here the words to this

  • what you know about this song , yell back in the days bam

  • SCREW the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!! We need to stop worrying about being "accepted" by mainstream organizations! This ain't rock anyway, it's SOUL! I don't need them to put a stamp of approval on my music! We of all races know how good this stuff is! Several great soul artists and groups have been over looked by the RRHOF...screw em!

  • @antav9 I agree with you there. We don't need validation.

  • I was there...

  • Awww Sooookie Soookie Now! Bluelights In The Basement Jam.. Ya had to be there!

  • I love this cut

  • My grandmother really loved this song,.! Lord rest her soul., :(

  • Thanks for the clarification williamg2552.Might of looked at Smokey different.

  • THE MIRACLES have over 50 chart hits. Also, THE MIRACLES have MORE songs inducted into THE GRAMMY HALL OF FAME than ANY OTHER MOTOWN GROUP. More than The Supremes, Temptations, 4 Tops, J-5, Commodores....ALL OF THEM !! they were also the ONLY Motown group during the 1960's that WROTE THEIR OWN MATERIAL...AND THE TEMPTS SONGS TOO.

They also got a STAR on the HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME last March 20th.

.....So, WHY NO RRHOF INDUCTION ??

  • This was one of my mothers many miracles favorites...

  • damn ese memories of me being torcido bumping these rolas getting #ucked up off pruno and memries when i use to run the calles kicking up polvo choooooo

  • The Miracles would sing this at the Motortown Revue's and everyone got so quiet, hugged up so tight with their special someone, or straring glazed eyed at Smokey, and the whole crowd was swaying in harmony.

  • I can't / don't believe Smokey would accept that award without them

  • @lestergomezsf Go to WIKIPEDIA, look up " THE MIRACLES" , and look for this heading" Later years, The RRHOF controversy, awards and accolades".

  • The Miracles seemed to allways have a great B side on their records.

  • man oh man !! Do this song bring back memories of long ago basement parties

Smokey's b-sides are better than most of the so hits these days....a true legend

  • This song gives me such chills, that's just how great a song it is!!! released as the "B" side of "Tracks of My Tears" on June 23, 1965-

  • badass jam

  • ***THE MIRACLES*** One of the GREATEST GROUPS of ALL TIME !!

But , they have been BLACKLISTED from the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME for over 22 years...while only SMOKEY has been inducted...and , that's JUST PLAIN WRONG !! THE ENTIRE GROUP (Smokey, Bobby Rogers, Ronnie White, Pete Moore,Claudette Robinson, Marv Tarplin, and Billy Griffin) ,DESERVE INDUCTION !!!

  • is that right?? that is unbelievable that a great group such as this would be grossly overlooked - its such an injustice and a disgrace!!

  • @williamg2552 I wouldn't even worry about gettin into the rock hall of fame because their tru fans knows the truth...

  • @williamg2552 You are so right.

  • @williamg2552 - Blacklisted? If that's true, why on earth? Agree with you, though - the whole group should be in the HOF.

  • So smooth that it brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it, grew up listenin to this with my older brother and sister did not have a clue about life and love but the music of the day had me wanting to find out.

  • It WAS a regional hit in many areas of the country in 1965. So much so , in fact , that The Miracles had to include it in their live show....by popular request.

  • smooth

  • wooooooooooooooooooo!!!

  • i could not believe that so many blacks has such beautiful music, its so unreal, these people wow, and they voices, wow.

  • why don't you post my comment its the truth they can sing.. face thier the best in what they do and we cannot take that from them. thier special and we know that more and more...peace and i'am a white sister...but its the truth.

  • Sweet as sugar!

  • yeah this sure is a good one like the one verse "one way is for those who go alone that way temps a fool like me. oh but lovers dont try to make it on your own you dont want this misery oh why didnt i see the signs before i left my love behind at the fork in the road!!!!!!!!!

  • Song released as Tamla 54118 in June 1965, which was also the "B" side to "Tracks Of My Tears"

  • what they know good?

  • Wow! Why wasn't this lovely song a hit?

  • @alphagate It's Undergound.... Have You ever Heard of Underground Rap the Music that don't get played on the Radio Stations??? Why can't they make music like this?? Todays music is wack only Chicano music is good my point of view so don't hate on my style of music Oldies # 1 and Chicano Rap....

  • @alphagate It was a hit with me and a lot of other people in my neighborhood.

  • god i love this song it brings back so many mem. of queens ny in the 60s

  • THE MIRACLES RULE!! True back in the 60's. True Today.

  • Thanks Love This Song !!

  • Oh be my love, is another great flip side jam by the Miracles

  • Good morning, Claymarsh59! No, I have not received the lyrics for this beautiful song from Smokey. Thank you!

  • Hi grooveegurl7, I'm sorry, I didn't see this reply, haven't been here for a little while. Listen, try Lyrics on Demand on google, anyway the lyrics are heavy. "if there is something you don't see eye to eye, you better think before you tell your love good bye cause your paths may never cross again" . Well there's a couple of the lyrics, hope you find em'

  • this is the sh*t, pardon my language

my dad was playing this at our July 4 BBQ,

I had to come on here find it.

I think I loved this song since I was in my

    mama's womb, thanks for posting

  • I like your comment... lol Say, since you are the one wth (1 day ago)... I thought I should try to send you a request like I did to claymarsh 59. Do you happen to hafve the lyrics. I too love this song, and I only "found" it while I created my "The Dells" station on Pandora. Thanking you in advance... Grooveegurl7!

  • this song is tight, but if you ever see a, where their smoke there... smokey i think it came out in 79 or 80,get it you will be satisfy.the chicano humptyboy

  • pearl was my girl friend in the sixth grade and gussie and were tights and I'll never forget either of them. the closest I can be to them now is in prayer, I just pray for them, a couple of special people from the good days

  • May I add that this is divine soulful poetry that defined the trueness of old school feelings and life experience. We made mistakes, but we were real.

  • whos pearls & gussie ?

  • ok since I'm the only comment so far here's a little history. gussie and I would go down to Pearl's house and listen to oldies every day and it's sort of sad because now I hear the lyrics saying " your path's may never cross again" so sad to me cause I love people so much and miss gussie and pearl. Gussie would always cap on Pearl's mom's burnt beans. The oldies were good, life was good, love was right, now I just pray I'll see em' all in heaven. Thoughts from 1970

  • i'm glad you put this on so clear, somebody had it but it wasn't quite as clear . I like one comment I've read, the lyrics were angelic. "Youré paths may never cross again" thanx for the post

  • Hi "claymarsh59"... do you have the lyrics? If you do, can you please forward them to me? Thanks... grooveegurl7!

  • Hi sister, I was wondering if you got that link I sent you. Blessings to you
