Toe Drag Puck Scoop, How to Tutorial

It wouldn't work on ice. You can't catch the puck like that, it would slide off. You need to use centrifugal motion to pin the puck to the blade if you're going to scoop it.

i just do it by putting your stick blade on top of the puck, add some pressure so your stick flexes a little then bring it back and up. It's the smoothest way to do it. That's how crosby and the mike legg did it.

nah you gotta use the toe or heel, pressure puck so one side lifts up, sweep it around and scoop it up

Nope. This method will only work if you're just dribbling around with an air puck...a hockey puck will not move around like that as friction acts on it and if you're on ice, and you do that... the puck might just go over the blade as it is too slippery.

kid, this will only help you in your garage, totally different on ice. its more of a cuping motion on ice. practice getting the puck on its edge when u get on the ice next time. u could get it, its easier than it looks.

ummm, the michigan is based on an indian scoop in lax............this isn't it. at all. the move is about quickly flipping the puck at the heel of your blade. this is just getting your stick under an unsettled puck.

I agree with vhhockey97. Theres no way you'd be able to pull that off in a game with your stick taped up and ice clinging to it. The puck would for sure slide off.

You're supposed to lay you stick flat over the puck near the heel of the blade, apply downward pressure, then using a toe-drag like maneuver youve got to scoop it up so it lays on top of your blade.

There is 3 versions of the puck scoop on my youtube page that I located. I feel that IF kids can pull these easier moves, it will assist and inspire them in pulling off the harder moves later, after they get a feel for it. Rome wasnt built in a day! besides you can never tell what cool puck tricks a move like this could spawn. Puck Scoops are not set stone folks! remember before Mar 24th 1996 nobody knew what a puck scoop even was before mike legg's famous "Michigan" scoop!
