Although it is a very small minority of people who actually do harbor these feelings believe that the troops don't fight for our freedoms anymore, others believe that everyone in the military is just plain ignorant, uneducated, and stupid. Okay, Wiz. I looked up the focus group you're referring to. First of all, his entire "sample" only composed TWELVE likely voters. That is what is referred to as "anecdotal" because his sample size isn't NEARLY big enough to be considered scientific.
This "research" was conducted in May of 2007. The race has changed just a tad since then, don't you think? The voters refer to Giuliani several times, because that was back when he was the GOP golden boy.

I know a lot can happen between now and Nov 3., but I think b/c McCain probably won't get a lot of the GOP base, and Obama will get a majority of the independents and ALL of the democratic base, Obama will win in a landslide this fall. Your year-old focus group is meaningless now.

Hart really knows his stuff and I believe this study is valid. The research was really in depth and he really exposed their thoughts on every conceivable character trait of all the candidates and the issues they thought were the most important. They thought Obama was a fresh face and represented hope but they also thought he was inexperienced in comparison with McCain. So just based on lack of experience they'd vote for McCain over Obama but there are other factors involved as well.

FYI, the # 1 cause of bankruptcy in the US is medical expenses (over half), and about 3/4 of those people HAD health insurance at the time. Mccain doesnt have a chance against a hillary or obama and that's just simple politics. I think Huckabee or Romney or even Guliana would have had more pep to take on the democrats. Mccain is just to long in the tooth and to out of touch with america. No one wants another shoot-from-the-hip wannabe figher pilot president. They want a rational, logical, highly intelligent, political tactician, not the village idiot(again).

oh please..mccain is a quality individual, and has a quality record. he has the right idea about Islamic radicalism's threat to civilization and wants to reduce spending/cut taxes. Those are the two most important issues for the president. Congress should be getting boooooooed right now. This has been a LEGISLATIVE issue for decades, and although mccain has not helped, no one else in the GOP primary had a much better record.
