  • Mario and his boyfriend Luigi live on an Island in the Bahamas, Mario likes to fish and Luigi loves to cook.

  • Giant bullet bills are actually called bonzai bills. Just pointing tha out.

  • Just wanted to state that Yes, Boo's Courtyard is not shown in SSBM. But that is if you are going through the castle. Is SSBM you fight on top of the castle, and just like in SM64, if you are on top of the castle and look behind it you cannot see Boo's Courtyard, but just the hills and the blue background. Nothing against your vids, I think there awesome. Just wanted to point it out.

    Peace -V--

  • Thumbs up if this stage should have made it into Brawl

  • man this makes me want to play Super Mario 64 again. That game was too good.

  • @Riciardos90 I still dont have 120 stars and I wanna visit yoshi on the roof!!! for some reason you can play the final boss bowser with 100 stars instead of 120

  • @twiligame Of course you can dude, you'll need at least 70 stars to fight the final Bowser.

To find Yoshi you must have 120 stars which aren't so hard to get so don't worry :)

  • @Riciardos90 Agreed, even though I slightly prefer both Galaxies.

  • ''the giant bullet bills'' are known as Banzai Bills :)

  • whoa, wait a second. There WERE yellow "!" boxes in SMB64, but they contained only coins, and you didn't have to hit the switch to make them appear

  • @steiner1203 Super Mario Bros. 64? I was not aware such a game was made. If you mean SUPER MARIO 64 then thats another story

  • @younggunsfan Of course, you are completley right. Luigi got screwed with this one.

  • @steiner1203 lol yup he sure was.

  • the castle in melee looks like a home for umpa lumpas

  • a courtyard fille with booze? count me in;P!

  • yes at the start.

  • Shouldn't this castle be at high flooding risks?

  • do u know where the coloured plataforms (that appear when you hit the switches) and the round floating platforms (that go up when up when u stand on them) come from?

  • No. Should he care? No.

  • That green switch gives out the Metal Box!

  • you kinda forgot to mention the front of the castle's decoration. Peach was trapped in there in Mario 64. It would've been a great info addition.

  • ......But that has nothing to do with the design.

  • oh you're strictly looking at design... lol sry about that. the peach decoration would've been a nice touch tho seeing as u had some time left to kill.

  • what i noticed is that the characters are their TRUE size when u play in tiny melee and u get a super mushroom

it would make them the correct size for the levels

  • jey CrappyCaptureDevice how you unlock the cannon

  • get all 120 starsw in the original Super Mario 64.

  • maybe these are super bullet bills! maybe bowser is finally getting smart a bit!

  • Banzai Bills.

  • i've been in dat castle bfore uknow

  • I don't think you used a" Crappy Capture Device", because the quality was good!

    Also, nice video!

  • If you play tiny melee on some of the stages, (i.e. Peach's Castle, Fourside, Corneria, Venom), the characters are scaled down to match the scale of the stage. Though nobody plays tiny melee because it can get annoying.

  • How do you move the camera that way??? o.O

Anyway, great video! I enjoyed watching it. =)

  • He moves it in Camera Melee.

  • Haw-haw! Siczor's target got blown away before he can rip him to shreds!

  • I beleive some of the castle is derived from Paper Mario, from what I've heard, or another game that includes the castle (but they always change the castle....)

Also, never understood why Mario has a shack in the Paper series, but had a Castle in Mario land.... At least Luigi has a Mansion that doesn't seem to change it's appearence..

  • Some things were not put because they didn't expect the player to see it o__o, it would have just been taking up memory space.

  • technically, from what I have observed in Super Mario 64, peach's castle is on an island. however, in melee, they show various mountains, hills and such behind it, whilst in the original game there was nothing behind it. the waterfall was more to the side, and the moat was much smaller. in fact, melee, it looks as though the castle is sitting in the middle of a small lake. basically, the castle has been shrunken and everything around it increased in size.

  • The big Bullet Bills are actually called Banzai Bills.

  • hahahahaha i didnt kno u could go on the top of the castle

  • Okay, why was the courtyard filled with Boos? Were that many Toads overworked?

  • if you go at the top of the castle in mario 64 you don`t see the courtyard too!

  • how'd u do these sorts of camera angles in melee

  • Camera Mode

  • And I thought I was a huge Nintendo fan! I love watching all your videos dude.. I feel so educated... thanks for taking the time to make these!

  • you really are a big Nintendo fan dude. thumps up !!!!!

  • Actually the bullets being shot in SMW and Peach's Castke are called Banzai Bills. They make an apperance in New Super Mario Bros as well.

  • About the catle being scaled down... that happens quite a bit in Melee. Try comparing your character's size to a window in Fourside or Wispy Woods in Green Greens, in relation to their originals.

  • red boxes give you wiiings

  • You know, this got me thinking... when you get up on the castle in SM64, can you see Boo's Courtyard from there? It looks like the castle just cuts off because it's pressed against the "wall" of the area, so to speak. If they were using the outside model from the beginning of SM64 for the SSBM stage, that might be why they didn't put Boo's Courtyard in, since it's not there from that angle.

  • I love those banzai bills. Everytime they appear and CPUs run away, I try to grab them and throw them to the explosion.

  • giant bullet bill are called bazai bill

  • Nice vid. Very informative. Thanks :)

  • HOLY!!! IT'S DARK MARIO AT 2:16!!!!

  • It would've been ridiculous to have Boo's Courtyard, you would not even be able to see it.

  • why you gotta make fun of this guy? if you don't like the videos then don't watch them. just give this guy a break and don't leave them these long condescending comments.

  • Well suppose that the castle was huge in ssbm, that would suck because you could hardly see you character!

  • Great work on these vids! 5/5

  • Actually, if you listen carefully you can hear the Bullet Bill being shot at the beginning, around 00:23. So you did include it, techinically. :D

  • theres a thing about smash bro,the poisan mushroom makes everyone smaller, but in a way it makes them real sized, inclouding hyrule temple were the doors are tiny...

  • ur right

  • its bonzai bill.

  • BANZAI bill ^^

  • awesome video, but im pretty sure those bullet bills are actually bazooka bills, but i may be wrong.

  • the spire kills people

  • 1:54 to 2:36 is Simple. They are godzilla!

  • Yellow Blocks WERE in Super Mario 64, you just didnt have to press a switch to get them.

  • poor roy

  • Wow, u must be a REAL gamer to pinpoint all these things. i know i wouldnt be able to do this. oh and wheres that black costume from?

  • Nice mine and pokeball combo at the end.

  • ness rocks! die ROY!!!

  • I think that the giant bullet bills are called banzai bills.

  • This video is very good. Brought back good memories of Super Mario 64, too.

    L IS REAL 2401

  • sure he is. just he's not in super mario 64

  • I know that, I just said that as a bit of a reference to the best thing ever.

  • the levels are so small

  • Well, somehow I think that, since you can't run behind anything, it wouldn't be all that fun to have two players on opposite sides of the top of the castle when it's normal sized, because then nobody could get to each other.

  • dude, everyone knows that back in 2000 peach remodeled her castel. as for the rest of the stuff, i guess nintendo just fucked up.

    good eye btw

  • boos court yard is in right corner in back. it was just moved

  • Sorry, what I ment to say is that there's a door UNDER the castle in Super Mario 64. But in Melee there's a waterway at the bottom of the castle.(sorry)

  • I think you forgot about that there's a door at Super Mario 64. But in Melee, instead of a door, it's a waterway.

  • good notice i didn't see that before.

  • i wish my SSBM disc worked

  • hey what spire?

  • The green block is metal Mario right?

  • yea

  • Lmao at the end.

  • This giant Bullet Bills are known as "Banzai Bills".

  • bullit bills where in super mario 64 too, go to whomps fortress 2nd-6th star only

  • WEEE BOO RULES!!!!

  • Ok....so, whats the big deal here?. Seems as if your pointing out meanigless stuff. Just becuase SMW doesn't have the same backgrounds as SSBM pretty much doesn't mean anything.

  • The point here is to point out the similarities and show where the stage was derived from. (I guess you're thinking about the Yoshi's Island stage with the background comment.) It's not that this stuff doesn't mean anything, it's, once again, to show how the stage was put together and to compare and contrast the Melee version with the originals. Additionally, other comments similar to this on this video have been deleted.

  • WTF?!

  • mario walks thru back door of castle..

    falls into water

  • how did you move the camera angle around like that, please someone tell me

  • i think he used a action replay or somthing to do those angles

  • i think its in camera mode

  • if he goes on top of the castle and goes behind the castle theres.....NOTHING!! OOOOOO INTERESTING.... AND STRANGE oooooo

  • "If Mario were to go behind the castle... he would find a courtyard filled with booze."

    Teehee...

  • man I wish nintendo would make another 2d mario game except with better graphics, an example would be similar to the first level in adventure mode in super smash bros melee and yes I know about the new one for the D.S I mean a 2d adventure on the wii, not like super paper mario something a little more graphically detailed

  • y'know, i don't think there's going to be a 2-d for wii for a long time

  • green blocks aren't overkill. they're metal hats.

  • I think he meant it would make the video longer and didn't include it so he could move on to the next thing...

  • Check out peaches castle in Mario Kart 64, you can find it on the leve steering off the track

  • loved it. thanks for uploading

  • actully it isnt impossible because i have seen people on youtube playing SSBM right on their PC with an emulator

  • can u plz tell me where you got the super smash bros melee emulator rom

  • Such a thing doesn't even exist. I recorded this directly from my Gamecube. Besides, Gamecube emulation on a PC is next to impossible.

  • yeah there is it's called dolphin and if you didn't know that was the code-name for the gamecube

  • it was very in depth and you obviosly spent alot of time on it

but il all seriosnes...I dont care

  • kool

  • Rather pointless, really. If you expect Brawl stages to be more scaled than prepared to be a sadly disappointed.

  • I'm not sure what part of the video you're talking about that's "pointless," the part that's discussing the size of the castle, I guess. And I don't have any expectations for scale, I was just pointing it out. (How did you even get that out of the video?)

  • I don't think it's pointless...I think it's creative.

  • cool

  • cool vid

  • Cool vid!

  • is it a coincidence that the colors of the blocks in super mario world are the colors of yoshis you can get?

  • cool man!

  • Some of the arenas in SSBM aren't to scale, such as the Great Fox. I reckon if you set the game mode to "Tiny Melee" maybe the characters will be to scale with the castle. Just a thought.

  • at 03:21 you said you accidently didn't include the sound effects for the Big bullet bill (BBB) but at 00:23 you can hear the BBB being fired.

You are called the CrappyCaptureDevice, and I am the supreme capture device.

(sorry I just like the name.)

  • yeah... i never thought about that before =O

  • the place on 4:47 thats the bouns stage in 1p mode on ssbm

  • Me... must play... Super Mario World......

  • Awsome/

  • Just a note, the giant Bullet Bills are called Bonsai Bullet Bills or just Bonsai Bills. It even has a trophy in SSBM.

  • you are very perfeccionist!!!!

  • es obvio son of the bitch

  • i like mario (=

  • Nice work dude. =)

  • Aww, now that I've seen gameplay of Super Mario 64, I need to find mine and play it. Go retro! Nice vid anyway.

  • I hate what they did to the SSBM copy of the Castle!

  • smart ass! but you did pretty good nice one!

  • Oh, and the gaint bullet bills are called Bonzai bills. But its great to see someone devoted to Nintendo!

  • they are bullet bills

  • The castle in 64DS (I know its after Melee) is ecsactly the same but youdrain the moat after a couple of stars.

  • It's just a copy of the N64 Mario, there you also drain the moat.

  • Interesting observasions from its counterpart games. lets hope that the wii Levels of the game are just as vast and interactive to the players. For SSB:Brawl the enviornments have to be vast enogh for the casulal gamer including the 4-6 multiplayers that are going to be joining the game . That way everyone can fight one person at a time with no interference from other players. Items should be randomized though. :>

  • I liked this. I knew melee was chock-full of references to other N! games, but I didn't think about how deep that went. Prolly becuase I never really played Mario 64. Not that I think about it, the same basic design was used in Mario Kart. Still, thanks for th informative video.

  • do you beat all youre games or do you use gameshark or somthing similar to it?

  • That was a great history lesson, if you will, but yellow boxes were in Mario 64, too. They just didn't have anything to do with caps, unlike the other three. Sorry if I sound like a smart alek, though. Again, nice work.

  • Im Mario 64 there is a level with exploding bullets, if i could record it i would...

  • Yeah, but those were normal bullet bills, not banzai bills.

  • CWbookthief,if u think that nintendo is "junk" then y do u spend time commenting on videos sayin that "this is a aloada crap" then u dont hv a life

On a positive note really good vids keep it up

  • Thanks! And you make a good point about the guy below me. I never did understand why people flame others over their creative works. Negative comments are one thing, but flaming is a different story.

  • My little brother was watching the videos, I looked over and saw some retard jumping up and down comparing mario to ssbm. BTW Nintendo is shit, dont deny it. Wii has a gimmicy controller that will grow old next year. BTW, its not really creative, you are basically howing videos for two different games and crap like that.

  • I think we all got the point that you don't like Nintendo the first time you posted, I don't know why you feel a need to repeat yourself. Creative content is basically original content created by the uploader, regardless if its viewers think it's "creative" or not. And I seriously don't know what the hell you're talking about with "some retard jumping up and down."

  • nd I seriously don't know what the hell you're talking about with "some retard jumping up and down."

    Probably himself. lol

  • if the controller is a gimmick, then why did sony steal the idea?

  • People watch these videos because the content explores the history and relativity of aspects within games. This video is here to, like the title says, discuss the characteristics and the history of the particular stage in SSBM. If you don't like these kind of videos, don't stay and watch.

  • What you're doing (flaming) is rude and disrespectful and is the equivalent of going into a classroom and yelling the course or instructor sucks. No normal person would do that, only rude, ignorant ones. I advise you learn proper netiquette.

  • Who do you supose CWbookthief works for? Sony or Micorosoft? I hope that is the reason he has his head up his a. At least his brother has good taste. Great job on the vid. You made comment that some of your ideas might be overkill, so you did not include them. Don't be shy, give us the full package.

  • If he was telling the truth that he even had a brother... or if his brother really watched it...

  • what the hell is up with this crap, my little brotherhas been watching these videos for an hour and people like "Wild Crawler" think its a "great vid" DUUUUUUR you are making videos of Mario, Zelda, and this other nintendo junk. They arent even good montages. Its basically you moving the camera around a character for five minutes. Go to hell.

  • It's cool if you don't like Nintendo, everybody has a right to their own opinion. But this has to be the most retarded thing I've ever read. It's obvious you didn't even take the time to see what I'm trying to show with these videos (your little bro did) and then you tell me to go to hell. Seriously, WTF?

  • Good job

  • LOL, you had to make a new guy because the moat goes away. Nice vid.

  • So much memories :)

  • If u Hit A Green Box in Super Mario 64, You'll Become Metal. Just so u Know. ;-)

  • Will you do videos on the items too? I wish I had a crappy capture device instead of no capture device.

  • That'd be great ^_^

  • much more interesting than american history :P

  • nice videos man! ive subscired to your stuff cuz i like it alot!

  • that was funny when i opened a green box in super smash bros. melee by stepping on it and a metal box came out it was funny lol :D also great movie

  • Great video ;D
