i love doctor who and i love this scene but there are so many faults :( first massively noticeable one is when the rift power rings and going up the terminal the pattern changes and restarts magically. the second being when he says "just watch me" at the end and goes to track to signal, he put the stethoscope to the phone then goes to an extreme long shot then a close up of him putting the stethoscope to the phone again. ruins this clip.

This is why I preferred Martha because she was able to put up with and actually get over the Doctor and she got shit done (Walking the Earth? Staying in 1913 for 3 months?)

She knows that she was Nine's first companion so there wasn't anyone for a while before her and she can see Martha and get a rough idea of how old she is. If Martha were Sarah Jane's age, then Rose wouldn't be able to tell whether she came before or after, but Martha's closer to Rose's age.

Yes, but Rose knows Sarah Jane was there first. Rose knows that the Doctor doesn't always get the coordinates right. How does she know Martha's not from a past Doctor just dropped off further in the future from her relative timeline? HOW does she know therewasn't anyone for a while before her? Sorry, i'm not sure i understand that reasoning.

@OTimeMasterXO She was in the TARDIS for two years, so it's not unreasonable to think The Doctor said something about the time before she was there. He might say something in "Rose." I don't remember.

Martha just looks and sounds like she's from the same time as Rose. If Rose had encountered a 20 year old Sarah or Jo, it would've been obvious that they were from a different period from things like their clothes and the way they talked. It's not 100%, but it makes Rose's assumption reasonable.

And as we saw in an earlier episode, she told the Daleks that she killed the Emperor so either she remembered or the Doctor told her. Somehow or another, she knew about what she did as the Bad Wolf Entity. And she knew that Jack was a former Time Agent, so she's probably not worried about the fact that he somehow got back from the future.

I know Phil Ford over on SJA mentioned some of the old companions in the episode 'Death of the Doctor', but here they only talk about the companions who appear in the new series.
