the difference is in the type of jump ;) , lot of jump in supercross (very difficult) and in motocross big long jump etc... not the same ;)

yea they styles of track are not the same. supercross id usually a very tight technical track with lots of tight turns and smaller jumps ect. motocross is a more open less technical track that has mostly longer sweeping corners and longer jumps. i said indoors and out doors because that is the MAIN differance but there is exceptions as you said sometimes there are supercross tracks outdoors and vise versa.

Supercross is more of a tight, technical track usually inside of a stadium. There are 2 heats, an LCQ and the main event which consists of 20 riders who go 20 laps, which is usually about 50 seconds per lap. Motocross is more wide open racing on extremely rough tracks which are about 1-2 miles long with lap times usually in the 2-3 minute range. After you go through qualifying there are 2 35 minute motos plus 2 laps. Motocross tracks aren't as technical but the race is more physically demanding.
