  • I bet the cast had a blast with this one :P

  • Excellent.

  • "Manufactured Triumph!" Fantastic! One of my favorite episodes from the last season of DS9.

I especially enjoy the last shot when the slow-motion image of the autographed ball fades into the station exterior. The ball fits snugly between all six pylons. And, which music is that you used at the end?

One thing was missing, I thought. That was where Dax (likely mimicking the antecedent gymnast, Emony) runs up the wall and catches the ball while flipping backwards.

  • Very nice, though you left out Sisko getting angry at one of Odo's calls. "You can't tell me that ball was over the plate! What were you doing, regenerating?"

  • LMFAO "Find him and KILL HIM!"

  • Quark: "all that intelligence and he still doesn't know what a huumon looks like".....LMAO

  • Nine herberts here.

  • Sisko might have lost the game itself, but he made the Vulcan lose his cool. That in itself is worth any game.

Haha also check out Quark's signature on the baseball.

  • To manufactured triumph! Hear hear!

  • "What do I do?"

    "FIND HIM AND KILL HIM!"

  • Haha, poor Solok :D

  • Worf lines in this are epic.

  • "Death to the opposition!"

    Fuck yes!

  • lol @ 7:38 - Worf just writes his name, no fancy signature. Typical Worf.

  • My fav episode =)

  • They need Worf on the senate.

  • this was basically the first episode of Enterprise. Yeah, it's that bad.

  • Find him and kill him!

  • How can you NOT include Sisko getting thrown out?!

  • I will never tire of hearing that...."Death to the opposition!"

  • 8 people were found and killed

  • even though i hardly ever play baseball, i still want the one at the end

  • Vulcans suppose to be stoic and suppress their emotions. But sometimes their like to show their perceived superiority to the Humans.

  • "DEATH TO THE OPPISITION"i gotta say that next time i play

  • looks like the Niners are playing Team Korea.. yahhhh!

  • Worf: Find Him and Kill Him! LoL

  • @TheFounders very cleaver.

  • All Vulcans look alike to Nog.

  • Comment removed

  • @charlesworth84 I mean 1:33

  • I read on Wikipedia that Max Grodenick played ball in real life. Either this episode was a pain in the lobes for him to do - or an excess of fun.

  • I loved this episode so so so much XD thank you very much for this collection of wonderful scenes :D

and perhaps could you tell me what music it was at the end? It sounded pretty cool :3 liked it a lot to go with Rom's fly XD

  • @AizenBuchou The music was a small clip from Nightwish's "Ghost Love Score" on repeat.

  • @lesleyburt Thank you very much, went to listen to it immediately! =)

  • "Find him and kill him!"

  • @rjholling yeah that was so funny..!!!!

  • Wow, Worf signs in all caps.

  • haha, at the end that is sisko's most Kirk-like scene.

  • why is sisko out the whole time?

  • @016899 he got angry and touched the umpire (odo) or something, which is against the rules.

  • OMG I love Worf. "Death to the opposition." "We will destroy them." "Find him and kill him!"

  • Also love Worfs 'WE WILL DESTROY THEM!!' at the first meeting!! Lmao!!

  • I'd love to see the whole episode.

  • Worf gets the best lines in every series.

"I am NOT a merry man!"

    "Death to the Opposition!"

    "Find him and KILL him!"

  • Death to the opposition.

  • FIND HIM AND KILL HIM

  • worf has the best lines: "do not rush me" and "Find him and kill him!!"

  • Vulcans kick so much ass who can blame them if they feel like showing off every now and then? Even if it is a little bit "emotional."

  • I think my favourite part in the episode is just Worf's signature on the ball.

    WORF

  • dude thanks for this one

  • one of my favorites

  • I thought Sisko was going to give Rom a piggyback at first, LOL

  • "Death to the opposition" and "Find him and kill him" are likely the two best lines in the history of television.

  • I totally agree :D

  • Oh I love how they just bust that vulcan's balls and get him to make an ass of himself.

  • I often feel like yelling DEATH TO THE OPPOSITION myself.

  • Take me out to the holosuite, take me out to the park, buy me some replicated peanuts and crackerjack~~~

  • Worf is the shit.

  • The real joke would have been Sisko telling the Vulcan that even Billy Martin knew enough not to actually put his hands on an umpire. Billy kicked dirt on their shoes, but he never actually manhandled an ump.

Billy Martin had more self control than the Vulcan. That is just F*cking hilarious.

  • Apparently you haven't watched the whole episode. It was the Vulcan who was the racist.

  • "Find him and kill him"

  • "death to the opposition"

  • Odo:PLAY BALL!

Then the audience fades out and Odo reacts.

  • best star trek episode ever...and there were no space bits in it, u kinda forget that there are aliens playing baseball, jus characters playing...what a classic...pure roddenberry

  • Not that I don't agree with the fact that Roddenberry left a legacy, but Roddenberry had nothing to do with this episode. He was long gone by the time "Take Me Out To the Holosuite" was produced...

  • Missspock, just because a new ferrari was not crafted by Enzo Ferrari himself doesn't mean that it does not have the essence of a ferrari.

  • "Death to the Opposition."

Now I have a reason to baseball.

If I look at my list of favorite Trek quotes, 75% of them are from Worf. Kapla!

  • lol they should do a dvd compelation of all holodeck episodes.

  • The only thing that bothered me with this episode (and I do mean the ONLY thing) was Bashir is supposed to be geneticly engineered. More strength, more coordination, ect. He's always smoking O'Brian in darts, and yet when he plays baseball against a group of Vulcans, he gets totally destroyed just like his teammates. I would have thought Bashir and Worf for that matter would have shined on their team, but nope. They sucked. Just an observation.

  • You forget that Vulcans are considerably strongly than Humans. In addition, these Vulcans are trained in Baseball, giving them quite an advantage against even Worf's strength.

  • Three times as strong, if I remember correctly as noted in either an episode of Voyager or DS9...

  • It's because they are Vulcans; if they were human he would have easily dominated.

  • find him and kill him!

  • Ezri: Human?...did i forget to wear my spots today?

  • MY FAVORITE EPISODE!

  • DEATH TO THE OPPOSITION!

    klingon baseball.

  • this is why you don't play baseball with Klingons.

  • Everyone: "Hey batter batter batter"

    Worf: "DEATH TO THE OPPOSITION"

  • I like Quark's signature at 7:37. It has little ears on it :)

  • I just realized something else, it's also against the rules to make a batting order substitution in the middle of an inning. That should have been an out.

  • you can make a substitution whenever you want. (pitch hitter or runner). However, once a player has been in the game and substituted, he can not longer be placed back into the game. The ONLY rule they broke by bringing in rom was he wasn't on the original roster at the start of the game. By rule, all baseball players that might possibly play must be on the active roster before the start of the game. This must be submitted to the umpire, so they can't bring in a random substitution.

  • Thanks. I thought that you could bring in a pinch hitter as long as you made the change before the start of your batting order and a pinch runner only for an injury. I guess I was wrong. If Rom wasn't on the original roster, what's the penalty for trying to bring him in?

And since you know baseball rules, robnum1, am I right about a missed base being a forced play without a nedd to tag?

  • I don't know if anyone else has said this, but I'll put it in anyway. If a player misses a base, it's a forced play and you don't have to tage them. They're out as soon as you touch the base while holding the ball.

  • Rom looks like a dork in the uniform lmao

  • The "Epic music" clip at the end is from the Finnish group Nightwish song called "Ghost Love Score." The lyrics that follow (which the editor did not include) are eerily appropriate for the scene:

Bring me home or leave me be

My love in the dark heart of the night

I have lost the path before me

The one behind will lead me

  • Nog: "Well whatta I do?"

Worf: "Find him and kill him!"

    Lol, Klingon baseball sounds awesome!

  • indeed.

    worf: death to the opposition!

  • vulcans playing baseball. that would involve fun. isn't that against their religion or something

  • they look more like romulans.

  • i guess it was "logical" to show that humans are inferior to vulcans.

  • i love this

  • vulcans p;laying baseball. that is something!

  • I love this episode so much.

  • Comment removed

  • Most sports are a form of ritualized combat, so it's natural for Worf to interpret it as such. Rugby and ice hockey... a Klingon would LOVE those...

  • Where's the scotch infused gum?

  • Death to the opposition. Find him an kill him!

  • Worf: Death to the oppositon. lol

  • One of my favourite Star Trek episodes! I bet captain Solok never bothered Sisko after this incident;-)

  • If Stark Trek was supposed to be all serious then we wouldn't have the greatness that is Q and personally I would rather die then live in a world without Q

  • To all you naysayers and "shark jumpers":

Star Trek isn't all about space exploration. If TNG didn't have its funny moments (Data's Day, Captain's Holiday, The Outrageous Okona, etc.) then it would be the same as deleting this ridiculously funny episode from DS9.

And that little end part was an epic win too.

  • Notice football and basketball and hockey are never mentioned in Star Trek.

Baseball, Trek says, "died," but is still played recreationally and talked about in a few TNG and DS9 episodes.

Because in a utopian Trek universe, there is still some time on a nice, warm summer day (even if it's made in a holodeck) for men and women to play what really is a boy's game.

  • I'd love to see Worf play as centre back for a football (soccer) team! He'd be be a f*cking rock!! awesssoomme!

  • He would be arrested for 3rd degree murder

  • "....death to the opposition!" classic worf

  • "What do I do?"

    "Find him and kill him!"

    Lol, love Worf

  • Manufactured Triumph, here here!

    =]

  • one of the best episodes in the entire trek history...and it ain't about space...pure roddenberry!!

  • Death to the opposition is hilarious. Worf is such an awesome character.

  • that last bit with the "epic" music

you sir are great beyond words

i think i speak for all the internets when i say

    FIND HIM AND KILL HIM!

    thanks

  • That's Leeta at 3:33.

  • lol at the Niners taunting the Vulcan. I've secretly always wanted to see that happen.

  • I LOVE Odo.

  • Death to the opposition! Best chatter ever.

  • LMFAO

    FIND HIM AND KILL HIM!!!!

  • death to the opposition! find him and kill him! worf is LEGEND! lolz

  • I'd like to see "take me out to the holosuite".

  • thx for upload

  • Find him an kill him!

  • That's great- that episode always irritated me in its entirety because its all hoke, but its pretty good action... Bashir should have pitched.

  • Death to the oppasition ha

  • I LOVE WORF. "Find him and kill him!" Oh, HELL yeah!

Sisko is uber-cool in this episode.

And, unlikely as it seems, at 4:46 Rom's got a pretty good swing; his follow-through is a bit like Reggie Jackson's "goin' for the parking lot" mode.

  • The guy playing Rom was going to go professional, but dropped out for his acting Career.

They had to make him left handed for the episode, because he found it impossible to do bad :P

It was on the Commentary, I think..?

  • This makes perfect sense. It would also explain, perhaps, why he was given such a tiny bat.

  • I love that Rom's number is 13. That was mine.

  • Mine, too!

  • DEATH TO THE OPPOSITION!

    FIND HIM AND KILL HIM!

Absolute classic. Gotta love Star Trek.

  • this is why DS9 was so great!

  • Man, can you imagine if they had played something rugby? lol.

  • i dont uderstand what americans love about baseball good episode though

  • It's a wonderful sport. Okay, no logic in that answer, but I can't explain it any other way.

  • It's what makes America, America!

  • "It's what makes America, America!" as aposed for killing millions for oil, getting fat, polluting the environment, bullying every country that does not meet your totatalarian idealogies and lying continuisly

  • That's George W. Bush's America. Clinton wasn't as bad. But enough about politics. Great episode.

  • This is an example of why Star Trek was always a favorite show of mine. Great creativity. Even my elderly parents loved this show while most scifi left them bored and uninterested.

  • "Death to the Opposition" has been one of my favorite sayings for years because of this episode.

  • All right, Niners, let's hear some CHATTER!

  • What's with the epic music? It's baseball.

  • It's also Star Trek.

  • DEATH TO THE OPPOSITION!

  • How about Ice Hockey now? :P

  • Or american football... worf would be a badass!!! lol

  • ...or during an European soccer fight?

  • what do i do?

    Find him and kill him

how come worf never is this funny on the show, at least not like this

  • I have a ball signed by Sisko! Very cool!

  • "Manufactured triumph, here here!" Love it!!

  • The best part from the episode where left out; the federation anthem!

  • awsome!

  • Worf cracke me up. I love the 9ers baseball caps, I wonder if they sell them anywhere.

  • I had the cap before. They usually sell them at Star Trek conventions OR ebay

  • Funniest quote from anything I can remember...

    "WHA- What do I doo?!"

"FIND HIM AND KILL HIM!" >:o

    hahahahaha

  • love worf's signiture very him :D

  • lol 1:16 gangsta odo

  • lol

  • Yeah, this was a terrible episode. The Worf lines were the only bits I laughed at.

  • "Find him and kill him!" lol!

  • "Death to the opposition!" haha

  • only worf could say that, only worf

  • Another classic worf line:

Defiant Crewman: Main power is off-line, we've lost shields and our weapons are gone!

Worf: *hits console* Perhaps today IS a good day to die, PREPARE FOR RAMMING SPEED!

  • Worf cracks me up !

    "Do not rush me !"

    "Find him && kill him"

&& of course "Death to the opposition"

  • do not touch the odo

  • Worf's top 3 lines of all time:

    3. "Sir, I protest, I am not a merry man!"

    2. "Death to the opposition!"

    1. "You could stand at her door, and beg like a human."

  • I'd include:

"At the first sign of betrayal, I will kill him, but I promise to return the body intact." (Worf about Garak)

  • what about

    "Assimilate this!"

  • Death to the opposition!

  • Ah...! I was looking for this for quite some time. Thank you! And... DEATH TO THE OPPOSITION :D
