  • AHHH!!!!!! I've seen like 30 different guitarists play this piece and they're all in different keys! WHAT'S THE ORIGINAL KEY?!?!

  • @hachiroku15 Ehm.. I think that's probably because of the recordings. The original key of the piece is B minor.

  • 4:37 is my favourite part.

  • SUPER , CON MAESTRIA

  • Fantastic playing , one of the best vesion ever played

  • Like most before have said, thank you for such a great clip, and by sharing, allowing others to enjoy such beautiful music. Diolch

  • just beautiful piece

  • Freakin asians and their unparalleled disciplines. Pfft.

  • @Aurelius27x lol yeah, that saying is so right, but....some people like me who is an pure east asian but still lazy as hell....sometimes I feel so shameful...........

    phew..................

  • Outstanding, Barrios would be pleased I believe

  • this guy is fantastic !! it had to be a japanise !!

  • @gallito1010 I'm 1000% sure that he is Vietnamese. This guy is emazing.

  • @TonVanis He is not Vietnamese. The person who uploaded this video is Vietnamese. The performer's name is Shinichi Fukuda. He is a Japanese born in Osaka.

  • @Alexlowe88 Thank you so much for your correction. The reality of virtual world sometime "you see that but it not that" and thank to all of you who that help to corrected it.Thank again.

  • @gallito1010 The performer's name is Shinichi Fukuda. He is a Japanese born in Osaka.

  • the guitarist is Shin-Ichi Fukuda not the one who posted the video

  • Is that his guys name dauduclam? he's good. the allegro was so clear and so fast.

  • his name is dao duc lam is a vietnamesian name

    VERY BEST!!!

  • why Segovia did not perform this La Catedral ?

  • btw, if i ever play la catedral, this will be my model. it's perfect when it comes to right speed and experession, in each movement.

  • So maybe I'm too influenced by the beauty of Ana! ^^

  • checkout Denis Azabagic version, its pretty good also

  • i agree with chrisdewitte. The resonance of each note is best heard here, chaque note jouée laisse la précédente décroitre exactement comme l'exige le morceau.

  • Excellent!

  • BEST version on La Catedral.

But that's might be my problem, I bought his CD recorded this piece, I guess the emotion is totally different from playing in the video in old time.

How lucky that this moment was kept.

  • @RunningJuan Seriously.

  • Shinichi Fukuda IS THE BEST VERSION OF LA CATEDRAL ANA VIDOVIC DONT PLAY THE LA CATEDRAL LIKE HIM

  • I am not understanding whith you Carpediemeuh.

You say the guy doesn't have enough expression. Remember you are in a catedral, God's house and you have to be humble in this place! Ana Vidovic lets her fire temperament overtake her entertainment; it can be usefull in some pieces of music but not in that one!

  • i agree. one of the things that anoye me a little bit, in both ana and in denis azabagic is that every piece that they play is always in presto, lol. in some pieces it stays cool, but i mean to play the prelude 4 (when its speed is "lento") very fast, it stays a little bit shitty. i mean, they have a lot o technique, but at the end of the day, if they are always playing fast, they will lack feeling when playing. some pieces were simply not meant to be played fast.

  • Very very good! But I prefer the Ana Vidovic's version... this japanese guitarist has not enough expressions...

For me, Ana is the best!!!

  • ana is one of my favorite but when she play la catedral to me sounds kinda bad

  • He is a Japanese guitarist, Shinichi Fukuda. One of the best guitarists in Japan and issued many CDs.

  • you are for me the best

  • The best ive ever heard by faar!

  • Yep, That's the dog's bollocks alright.

  • Outstanding.

  • He is very fast and clean for playing...THUMBS UP HE IS SO GOOD!!!

  • Determined like a KAMIKAZE to reach the heart of the instroument

  • Yeah, this kills the ana vidovic performance circling around.

I am looking for a performance where the vibrato is slow, elegant, and creates a nice tonal interplay against the pace of the piece.

  • rock on d00d, your technique is perfect :D

  • AMAZING

  • Una bestia!

  • Aaah, the best version of this song ive ever heard so far. Just fucking amazing.

  • His name is Shin-ichi Fukuda.

He is Japanese pro-guitar player and

also is professor of Kaori Muraji.

  • BEST OF THE BEST

  • mucho goodo

  • ¡IMPRESIONANTE!

  • i love these old recordings of guitar i think they mellow out the guitar more

  • awesome!

  • This is great! Thank you. That was beautiful

  • tercer movimiento¿

  • Simply awe inspiring. I can't stop listening to this piece. Definitely the most beaultiful piece of classical guitar I've heard to date.

  • perfect Maestro!............some said you´re plays an "Masaki Sakuai".is this right? so brilliant and sustainfull...........

  • this one looks like a Fleta by looking at the rosette. Also in the soundhole you can see the label which has a thick border, this is also consistent with Fleta.

  • Ignazio Fleta....right!!.....very very rar and expensive! I played one bevor,..but it wasn´t mine.!

  • Brilliant and beautifully felt....you understand the piece well! Why have I not heard of you yet? Well, I have now, and I won't forget! Inspiring performance.

  • badass

  • Yes, he truly is.

  • All three movements represent the best possible guitar music can reach. Especially the first movement, just sublime. All other great guitar musics become just a pop music in front of this one. Why this piece is seldom performed by most so called guitar virtuosos?

  • i had tears in my eyes, when i heard this...

  • The best performance I've ever seen of this piece! WOW! The Allegro was almost too fast, but that may just be because I can't play it that fast XD. Every note perfectly struck...Amazing.

  • Well, I agree that technical perfection is something different than music, although in my opinion that is not a relevant matter in this performance.. one of the thing I really like in this one is the feel in it, especially in the first two parts, subtle, sensitive.....

But I've heard a lot of pieces which would fit the description you gave, so I know what you mean.. a pity you don't hear the other elements in this piece though, I am very fond of it.

  • Bravo! :)

  • Certainly, Fukuda's work is not that well-distributed in the US. But he is definitely on the top echelon as a classical guitar performer by just seeing this performance.

  • After listening to classical guitar all my life, I thought I have heard the best music and performance already. But not until I heard this one and played by this guitarist. It is a sound beyond this existing space.

  • If you have been listening to classical guitar all your life, you must be familiar with Shin-ichi Fukuda

  • Greeeeeeeeeat!!!

  • i really like the bass line at 4:40

  • barrios came from another world, the greatest, and this performance does him justice

  • Judged by the quality of this video and the player's name, I am guessing he lives in Vietnam. One has to admire someone who may not have the resources we have, such as a good teacher and insturement, and still play so beautifully. I hope you can read English, Mr. Lam, because you are a gifted player and I hope more people will discover your talents.

  • The player is Shinichi Fukuda, a world-renowned Japanese guitarist. This video was when he was young. Fukuda's got all the resources anybody can get.

  • MI god! I must think this is a very nice joke...jeje, he is one of the greatest guitarist of the entire world ..

  • i agree with your words, but remember, money help sometimes, but talent is a gift that does not choose race, religion or financial situation, that is a gift that can appear in any place

  • this guy is unbelievable *stares in disbelief*

  • Incredible talent....

  • It's so sad that awesome musicians like he does not have so much money like those soulless and crappy mtv pop musicians.
