  • In the new DVD version, the entire scene is in it. :) Saw this the other day on TCM and laughed my you-know-what-off at this scene. Chuck Connors from The Rifleman would have been great too.

  • Citizen's arrest fail

  • my late father, Jack Bachom was the film editor on this movie!

  • @Schlockumentaries One of Bob's best western's he is missed God love him RIP Bob hope.

  • Apparently Gene Autry was in the original release, but like James Garner was cut from later prints

  • i could have sworn both maverick and the lon ranger was in this and i thought i saw lee van cleef bu i realized that couldnt happen b

  • Funny how memory plays tricks. I saw this years ago and would have been prepared to swear in court that Clayton Moore was one of the guest cameos. Thinking about it I would think the scene would have run contrary to the Lone Ranger's credo of never shooting to kill.

  • That is Wyatt Earp not Bret Maverick.

  • James Garner as Bret Maverick was in the original release but that's been deleted in most copies due to legal problems, the only character to which that happened, which is kind of extraordinary when you look at the line-up. Hugh O'Brien as Wyatt Earp at the beginning of the gag is often mistaken for Garner but so far I've never seen Garner's vignette. If anyone has it, please post it.

  • I had to go check. This was made in 1959 and Gary Cooper was born in 1901, so GC was 58 when he made this movie.

  • That was cute almost all the great westerners. Would love to have seen Cisco Kid, Lone Ranger. Gary Cooper was smart and classy. He realized that he could extend his longevity in Hollywood if he stayed in shape. Besides he was a tall man. He loved to eat, but he was always aware of his appearance. He makes guys like Clooney and Pitt look like "personalities" not actors.

  • I really enjoyed this very very much and I appreciate your uploading it. Gary Cooper looked really good, had to be over 57 years old or more...

  • i bet they had fun shooting this scene

  • I like the part before this when he fell through the carriage and when they went through the barn he got stuck on the cow lol

  • Good very good, thanks

  • Great! Thanks for sharing! It is too bad that it didn't include James Garner in Maverick. He was in the original theatre version but was cut out due to a contract dispute. Hope we can find his scene someday.

  • Agreed! Woulda been so cool if Clint Walker from Cheyenne had made it into this scene, but I guess you can't have everything. :)

  • Rhonda Fleming

  • funny anyway!!

  • This is silly funny.
