I live in Tennessee and I have seen people like this. The ones I know are the most deeply devout and religious christians I have ever met. They do not do these things to test the Lord's will to take their lives, but as an act of faith and devotion to God. I personally wish that I had even a portion of the faith that they do. I'am a christian, but I don't know if Iam strong enough 2 do this type of thing. Is my common sense conflicting with my faith? I don't know.

These people are more then likely from either deep in the Appalachian or Rocky Mountains. They are not the typical mid-western Mormons. Yes there are different sects, there are over 100 of them. They all branch off from the L.S.D and the C.O.C.Also, with the acception of the two primary sects, the Fundamentalist ones do practice polygamy. The reason you dont hear about these sects is that they are confined to small rural areas just like the one in this video. They still go by the book of Mormon, just not under modern practices. And from your comment, I'm gonna guess that you are a Later-Day-Saint, the largest of the sects.
