  • perfectly magick...i am in love!

  • Love the loops on this. They're a decent substitute for the harmonies on the album version.

  • χατε πρε χιπη μορφοκαμιε τα!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • like the song, but this is a bit of a crap performance tbf

  • @Sound432 you are an asshole your bit of crap

  • I remember watching this video back in 2006, with someone who's not here and I am no where near, honestly trust me it just feels the same way like I do after 5 years now

  • This song and ''Fragile Bones(Feels Like Home)'' by Ali Murray are the most beautiful songs I've heard in a looong time. If you like Joseph Arthur, you should check out Ali Murray. Musically completely different but both of them make me cry...

  • He looks like Ari Gold in this video.

  • I love how he said "i think that you came too soon" Haha so she obviously doesn't last long :L

  • I'll never grow tired of watching this live performance - pure genius.

  • I wish he could sing that at my daughters wedding! WHAT A GREAT SONG! LIKE MOST OF HIS OTHERS!

  • This man's music is the reason my girlfriend and I stayed together. She is now my wife. We walked down the aisle to his music, we had our first dance to his music. For that, I am forever grateful Mr. Arthur. Thank You from the bottom of my heart.

  • My GOD I LOVE all the chords and harmonies of this song...he doesn't even have to sing, just give me the instrumental...i LOVE him and I LOVE this song no matter what version...

  • @mikebowden28 To me that's crazy! To each their own, though. This is one of my favorite versions of this song.Your opinion is as good as mine though.

  • is this song from the 90's?!

  • great song

  • sick.guitar.

  • SAS: fuiste la miel y la luna que iluminó mi vida...yo no te olvido...

  • just saw him perform live last night in SF.

    amazing....so much talent.

didn't perform this particular song, which is my fav of his

but his music is just so beautiful.

  • I first heard this song driving a big old truck through the snow-covered wilderness of Pennsylvania in early part of 2003

  • I love this guy... There is always sun in his music, warms me...

  • memories so blessed comes when i hear this one! :)

"dont cry when something is ending - laugh couse it heppaned" Gabriel Garcia Marquez

  • God he looks so much like John Lennon here

  • i was thinking the exact same thing

  • That has got to be one of the cooliest guitars I have seen anyone use.

  • He's an artist...designs his own album covers as well.

  • Awesome.

  • that guitar is so efin cool!... :)

  • Haha he looks like a copy of John Lennon.

  • I couldn't agree more. Arthur's lyrics are beautiful.

  • love those looop pedals :)

  • It all ties together wonderfully. Genius,i just went out and bought three of hs cds. Fuck the recession.

  • So honest, I understand his genius and will always share his music (message) with those that can go their.

  • intimately brilliant

  • love this song

  • demais

  • he sounds almost like John Lennon

  • yup

  • Even though i listen to rap, this will always be my favorite song.

  • honey and moon

  • lovely ;) it kinda makes u high though.

  • what the hell happened to the original video of In the Sun with the angel wings & everything?

  • I know I have been looking for that version forever

  • what kind of pedal is it?

  • It's a loop pedal... You hit it once and it starts recording then you hit it again and it plays back what you just played... You can layer a bunch of guitar parts on top of each other at once with only one guitar... Wish I had one :)

  • the boss GT-10 besides from having almost any effect imaginable it also has this loop function... i highly reccomend it... it isn't even that expensive either

  • I have a Digitech JAM MAN.. it works pretty well too. I have a video on youtube where i cover this version of honey and the moon. Check it out

  • I love love this song so much. Hard to even express in words how much I love this song.

  • awesome awesome awesome!

  • Genius

  • hey injs44,

try it! see if you can pull it off!

  • Lol wanna know something funny? His capo is on the 5th fret, this song was written with the capo on the 7th fret. He had to drop it because he cant sing that high lol

  • My friend has a live CD from when he saw Joseph Arthur at Shepherds Bush and he pulled it off just fine in the original key

  • LOL wanna know something funny? this guy wrote the song and he can play it in whatever key he wants. LOL...LIKE, OH MY GOD, LOL....LOL. DID I SAY LOL YET? LOL (LOL) LOL! but seriously that is lol youre right...lol

  • he who writes can play it however he wants...lol

omh...lol, did i say lol more than you? lol? haha, lol...lol.

    YOURE AN IDIOT!

  • ah. brilliant.

  • i love this song it makes me feel soo calm and i love it =)

  • i love him....

  • Awesome!

    ♥

  • magnifique cette chanson!!!

  • Its not there to look cool its a feedback blocker. People use them to stop feedback when using amped up acoustics.

    Does look cool tho haha!

  • so, does this mean that its almost immpossible to completly make a satisfying version of this yourself, on acoustic?

  • /plays song solo

    ...hmm. nope.

such is the power of its words.

  • wow. he looks like john lennon.

    so amazing.

    lovely performance.

  • Saw him live in London two weeks ago and he was fab, fuckin genius... love this version:)

  • that was awesome, but does he have his cd taped to his guitar? is that to reduce resonance or something ? :S

  • Because it looks cool! Duh

  • do you really think he looks like the kind of guy that does stuff to make himself look cool?

  • do you really think a CD is gonna improve his sound?

  • well it lets less sound into the hole which can cause less unwanted resonance if you're using a pickup

  • haha. exactly. naryanr get the hell out moron. its called creativity

  • I need to have this version. It's my life.

You can't more important than that...right guys?? I sing this song to myself when I walk around New York City..my home town.

  • OMG. This is my favorite song of all time. This version is stunning.

  • i love his singing in the recording i dont know what it is about it though. someone help me say what im trying to say please

  • I really can't see how anyone could possibly dislike this song.. :|

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • I really like the guitar strums in this version =).. but I prefer his singing in the original recording.

  • His technic is called Oversampling, he indeed records everything live and after that he sings along with his recording. A fresh breeze:)

  • love this version!!!!!!

  • anyone know what pedal that is, or could suggest something similar...?

  • It's a twin pedal loop station.. Not likely by BOSS, but you can look at the BOSS RC-20, or RC-20XL. If you're looking for an even higher quality loop station, you can look at the RC-50 They're a bit pricey though, I would recommend the RC-2. Regular loop station, just compact pedal sized, really good stomp box, just with less recording time than the others, but still, it's enough.

  • This is fab - it was in the beach scene in American Pie: The Wedding. Awesome - makes me tingle!

  • Great song, loved in the oc! He reminds me abit of john lennon in his appearance

  • i totally agree.

  • i swear he has a lot more talent then he shows. he has big things to come

  • I saw him opening for REM, it's all live yeah. Quite a talent.

  • Is he seriously looping all of that stuff live? That's really cool.

  • I have read somewhere that he did it all live yeah. It's very nicely done!

  • you're an idiot.

  • Jim Dunlop capo =)

  • Excellent perfomance! Amazing artist! <3

  • This is a really touching song...

    thank you Joseph!

    a fun from Hungary

  • he's a secret because people with good muscial taste are just as rare.

    love ya joseph

  • he don't need drumms for make a great song... maybe it's a lesson for the drumers about what is music

  • Yeah and there are certain drummers who can make a song great without singers/guitarists, so your point being.... ?

  • there s no drum in this song there s a beat. you can t make a song without a beat and the drums is there for that

  • I couldn't disagree more... there are many beautiful songs that don't have any beat whatsoever

  • you might not realize it. but everything has a beat.

  • that isn't true... everything has a tempo and a rythm... not a beat...

  • Err.... I think we have some confusion over the definition of a "beat."

Any music with any timing has a beat. A song in 4/4 has 4 beats per measure. We usually call a note on the beat a downbeat, and inbetween an upbeat.

I think some of you really mean some kind percussion (i.e. drums), and not what is actually a "beat."

  • owned.

  • like what songs?

  • absolutely perfect

  • He is simply amazing. Why is he still relatively a secret? Writer, Musician, Artist.

  • Awesome how perfectly he is playing the live samples! One take - it's in, next sample. One take again, it's in, next sample! :D

  • I love his voice, this live version is waaaay better than the album version.

  • i agreee. i love the overlapping. it sounds soo good.

  • I love his fucking guitar its a piece of art in itself. I loved it when he came to chicago @ the double door.

  • i agree it is a really nice guitar. I think this guy also has something special and different musically.

  • one word. amaziiiiiiiiiiiiiiing...

  • he's super great live aswell.

  • In a way, the studio version of this song put me off Joseph Arthur for a little while, but this has restored my faith. Amazing layering.

  • brilliant

  • love ya joey baby smooch

  • great music man , great voice

    bye

  • yeah!

  • damn that voice is so great it's so good to know that they're still musicians with talent which make money wiht it

  • He does not have a good voice, but uses it wrong. Better writer. Does not construct songs well. Example, on Lonely Astronaut, you got 20 minutes of noise. This band could be soooo much better. Sing rather than shreek. Be more harmonic. I like Cocaine feet. It rocked but did not harmonise well. They need to craft that. I like this lineup and hope to hear better stuff.

  • completely unfounded.quit talking out the side of your neck.absolutely clueless.his voice is perfect for what hes playing.how can you listen to that song and say its not constructed well.you're fully lost guy.fully!

  • I was kinda picking on all his songs rather than this one. I just expect more from these guys because they have it and are being a little too abstract or obscuer than they need to be. If that`s making them happy, great. Not gonna make me rush to the store for their next CD if all I get is artsy fartsy noise, moaning and shreeking and redundant strumming. He does have a great voice. The band is all talented. I am a fan. I feel like the Dad telling his kid he or she is better than a C student.

  • great song

  • wen i first heard this on the o.c,i fell deeply in love w the song..his voice is so beautiful i cry listening 2 him...i so love his songs~

  • This song is so great...But the voice is not as good as usual..I ve seen him 5 times in small concert room in Paris. He 's great, i hope he won't fail with success...The best is already behind him. The first LP and this one (the third) are so excellent

  • this version is amazing!!

  • nice version of an excellent song

  • I like this a lot more than the album version. And musicians usually sound kind of bad on late night shows...

  • Hmmm

  • Rapid guitar!

  • vickfalcon, I'm sure it's some kind of loop recorder

you can get them in pretty basic stompboxes...Boss makes a few that are supposed to be good

Good video. Thanks for the upload. I love the sound of his guitar.

  • what is the effect he uses, to keep the whole drum beat repeating in the background without fading out?

  • it is a lexicon "jamman" - he has four on stage at any given time

  • the way he brings the song in at the beginnin is amazing, he always does things a little differently live than they are on the albums

  • best version of the song i've heard yet, incredible.

  • Perfect.!

  • I love his guy... He is simply the best!
