Shure enough, Bruce Lee made it through and back onto his feet. Bruce Lee still had to take medication for his back pain, but he was still a fighter. Because of the injury, Bruce Lee would often get migraines. It ended up that one day he took medication for his migraine, and it reacted with the backpain medication. He died as a result.

@Chrisfallen when you go for an arm bar from mount you hold the pants so they cant move and roll out. When i train i always get out of armbars when my opponent doesnt hold my pants and vice versa.

So many more choke options from there, I'd usually try for a mounted triangle if anything but a choke from there or I'd switch to a shoulder lock from sidemount maybe. Nice video. To those saying kung fu could beat mma, or a shaloin monk could beat an mma fighter... its best you step into reality. There is a reason no kung fu guys are champions in MMA. I suggest checking out bullshido. It was around back in the early 2000's. It is what made me see the light, well that and UFC 1 and 2. If you want specifics, look up Royce Gracie Vs Jason Delucia. Delucia is a master in many animal kung fu's... he got arm barred by Royce twice.

@Swanton4rLife No hate, a good discussion. Here is a basic real world comparison of a few mainstream martial arts. Pure Boxers are the very best fist strikers-period. Kung Fu produces some great kickers but from what I've seen in MMA only the very best do well. Muay Thai kickboxers have the most powerful and devastating kicks overall. Wrestlers are the toughest on the ground physically, but Jiu Jitsu experts are the masters at submissions. I've lost my former respect for karate since mma.

It takes a guy who is well versed in all areas of MMA combat to then be able to properly apply karate to it. Karate dudes have some crazy fast kicks but karate will probably never be the base for any mainstream MMA champions.

Not enough bridge in his mount escape, crossed his feet when he had back mount (in a demo!), when he did paint brush he pulled Carlos's arm off the mat, all his sweeps are using a lot of energy, and in general he's not very natural with any of his technique. I'd be surprised if he's a blue belt, at this point anyway.

He's a BJJ black belt now anyway so you can take it up with the Machado Brothers! He's no Stevan Segal. Norris had a 65-5 full contact karate record and retired in 1974 as the undefeated middle weight champ. MMA was 20 years too late for him. Paint brush = Americana?

@herbiesnerd: yeah in BJJ we call the Americana a paint brush. So named because when you do the move correctly it's sort of like a brush motion: move the arm down, and THEN pull the elbow up. Chuck forgot the part about moving the arm down first, which takes away all his leverage.

I could make a small correction to pretty much every move he does here: in his armbars, he needs to put his opponents arm to the side, not in his middle body, for example.

He's a solid advanced white belt here.
