I have to tell this - nack in the 70's a friend's brother built a hydroplane. A small one, maybe 16 foot. He powered it with a Chevy V8. Of course he got excited because he had it all together and wanted to try it. Launched it no problem, fired up the engine no problem. Hauled ass down the channel - it was a weekday no limit - when he went to make the 180 turn back he almost crashed. He was one pulley shy on the steering - it went left and not right

having 4 or 5 300's etc. it's not near having a 1200 or 1500 hp boat.

It doesn't count like 4 times the speed it maybe makes a 10-15 mph difference between 300 hp but it gives it the power in towing and carrying triple the weight with same results as one manned 300
